I've done the journey down the M5 to the West Country so many times. It's my favourite stretch of road because it means we're off on holiday, usually to Cornwall. This year we broke up the journey to Cornwall by stopping off at Bristol for a short 3 day break and went on the M4/M32. However, on the journey from Bristol to St Ives we got caught in a three hour traffic jam on the M5 near Bridgwater owing to the southbound carriageway being closed due a fatal road crash that had happened the night before.
