I own a 2002 Toyota Qualis. It has done 2,65,000 kms and it is still going strong. The Engine starts in one go each time and no smoke from the exhaust at all. Nothing like a TOYOTA .

fuel cells are rather easy to master tech unlike what toyota achieved here they are using hydrogen combustion which is the hottest combustion of any natural fuel it goes above 3000 degrees celsius its rocket fuel for a reason, in fuels combustion does not occur which makes it easier to make and less safety needed

Kind Note:- You Forgot to mention one major drawback about hydrogen cars it's the lack of hydrogen fuel stations and many will think it can be solved by time like we did in EV charging station but an ev type 2 charging port costs 10k USD whereas a hydrogen fuel station costs 2 million USD.
Hydrogen isn't sustainable....ask chat gpt if Hydrogen can really beat evs in future ...it will give you accurate answer... storage problem, highly inflammable, extremely high car cost and extremely high refueling cost, a large amount of energy is required to seperate Hydrogen from water and lack of infrastructure, and majority of the people won't be able to afford hydrogen vehicles. 20 years ago smart phones didn't exist, telephones did , but technology improved right? Now we have so damn much amazing smart phones in our pockets with amazing features. Just like now we have smart chargers to charge phones faster, in future we will definitely have fast charging evs... I think it's just the beginning, Evs will improve with time, wait for 5 years and we might see EVs ranging upto 700-900 kms in just 15-20 minutes single charge..... technology will get better evs will get better...but hydrogen isn't viable in long term... Also I believe in the smart mind of the billionaires and ceos of car companies, all of them are much more bullish on EVs than hydrogen cars. there is one more problem and problem is manufacturing hydrogen fuel cells which require durable and light metals like platinum and iridium which are very rare and will need lot of digging like for lithium ion batteries. We need to solve problems not only of producing hydrogen pump but also of manufacturing hydrogen fuel cells with substitutes.
Hydrogen price at the pump has to drastically come down , short of that H2O run cars are expensive to own and fuel readily available . I know about it , I had leased Toyota Mirai !
They are also coming with diesel hybrid powertrain for the next generation fortuner after which it will produce 300 hp followed by increase in mileage due to hybrid and maintaining its superior legacy than any of its competitors
Here at Baroda Gujarat Koyali IOCL refinary has established H2 Plant since last 6 month and they are using TATA H2 bus for staff transportation. Plant is under observation. Well hope will see hydrogen Vehicals in India.

And transportation is another issue as it is not a good fuel if it is bad in one of the following like emission, transportation and efficiency, it ticks 2 boxes, but the transportation one is a issue, but if they somehow makeachines which extract make h2 gas on the refuel station it self, and store it at very low Pressure and temperature and then when it requires to be filled in the vehicle, the machines re- pressurize it on the spot, or it is filled with low pressure and then the car pressurizes the h2 then it will tick the 3rd box too...
Storing it at low pressure will not be economically viable as at low pressure the volume will increase a lot and we will need much larger tanks to store it safely

Wouldn't the production of the Toyota hydrogen based engine have similar pre-usage environment costs as EV engine production?
Well they won’t require burning excessive fossil fuels to produce electricity which would then be transferred to ev stations where people will literally spend hours just to charge their car. The Whole EV industry is a scam they are indirectly burning more fossil fuels just to make people believe they are using sustainable electric cars
