Among all the other things I learnt from Mr Urstein’s testimony is that even going through such atrocities the love one has through childhood lives on throughout one’s life. It cannot be destroyed. If you are from a loving home you can produce one later. I do hope his daughter can agree to that, but you can feel the love his wife and he have.
This man speaks with passion. Memories are seared on his mind and still somewhat raw for him. It is good to talk and get it out of his system even years after the events. He just says it like it is, good, bad, whatever - warts and all. Rough Justice meted out to former SS guards and all. Should be more like him and perhaps there was after the War. In small part some of the SS guards got a taste of their own medicine. Poland quickly dealt with KZ personnel and many were publicly hanged, men & women. Czechoslovakia also publicly hanged Heydrichs successor in the Czech manner.

Some of the questions she asked were in such a tone she did not believe him when he was talking about what happened after the war. That really bothered me. Who is she to ask him to prove anything to her...
I love this guy's personality. He was a fighter. His testimony is very moving.

Her wife wanted no part of this. It was out of respect for her wishes.
