One of my older builds, this custom Tamiya srb is a rusty masterpiece with tons of scale touches. I finally hook up the roof lights and add some more and get electronics back in her for a run.

I was mad at the solid fake headlights just the same on my m chassis beetle. I found lenses that fit well in the chrome shroud portion. Gutted the headlight little by little until only the shroud remained. Opened up the body holes to match, glued lenses, glued shroud to body. Then built internal buckets out of the universal lexan bucket kit found all over the internet, liquid electric tape to black out space where light sneaks between body and headlight shroud
ing. With the alleged Tamiya light kit, my mf01x beetle has switchable headlights, turn signals, running red and reverse white lights out back. It was worth it. The lenses that fit perfectly came from a 1\10 new bright jeep wrangler

This might be way off the page for your vision, but I'll just throw silly idea out there. Since this a post apocalypse theme it might add a little something if you were to kitbash a towed rocket launcher from a model tank, off one side of the roof rack. After your weathering it would look like it was harvested from a busted tank, or abandoned tank amorment station. Might not be your thing, might be really stupid, but it just might fit the theme really well. Your content is awesome.

Red lights don't atract bugs n stuff at night or affect night vision sounds scale to me. Glue the chrome light bowl in and drill led size hole for the headlights
I had something like that in the 80’s, only the base was the Subaru Bratt. Very nice build, if you where to sell it, what do you think it would sell for?

I grew up under the impression tamiya was the best but the few iv had have been very disappointing especially the cc01 that thing was a turd
