Ruined it. That manual belongs in a tractor. Row boat long shifts and rubbery and ill defined gates. I had one and sold it because the manual is that bad
Ditto. I've added a whopping 60k miles to mine in the two years since I took ownership and with proper maintenance, it still runs like a dream 😊. LOVE this car...
@@harrisiqbal3608 It all depends on how it was maintained and how it was driven. Though 160k is pushing it imho, if it wasn't beat on and brought up to temperature properly on cold starts, it should be toast yet.

Um…what?? It was engineered to run 18” or 19” and every legitimate race car has run 18s. But maybe try 15s and see what you think? Could be you’ll like that skateboard wheel look and drive. As a bonus, your speedometer and odometer will be running even faster than they do with 17s.
I have 80k on my car and it has full Dinan mods and HRE wheels. It is a manual transmission and I wash it more than I actually drive it. I am passing it down to my son who just got his drivers license. He only drives it on occasion. He has a Honda Accord that he drives normally. I was going to sell the car when prices starting going up. He said that he wants it though.
@@mocheen4837 I think it is wonderful that you will pass down your car to your son. Your M3 sounds like an awesome machine. I hope you and your son have many happy miles driving together in it.
I’ve owned and tracked both. The E36 is under appreciated, probably because it’s cheaply built and cramped. But at ten 10ths on the track, the E46 has more substance and it shrinks onto you like a glove.
Too much hype. 20k plus for a 20 year old car with 150k miles. E92 is a much better deal, better looking and 100 more hp for just a little bit more is a no brainer... and it's a V8!
Heavier and less steering feel, looks are subjective. Wheel horsepower is actually less than 400hp, roughly 390whp. Full engine rebuilds every 40-50k miles is not ideal either.
@@lewisjoseph9692 Hahaha! Engine rebuilds every 40k miles??? You’re an idiot. If the rod bearings are done before you hit 100k you’re in the the clear. E90 and E92 for the win on every level. Looks, sound, power, torque, speed and value🏆
Got mine 3 years ago as a smg and did a 6spd conversion love this car.
Self Centering shifter or did you machine the bell Housing?

Now I have a 330ci but in the near future I’m planning to buy an m3
The most gorgeous sports coupe ever
Hell yeah! 280k, good shape, and my daily.
When did you do your rod bearings?
@@harrisiqbal3608 they were done at 254k.. rear sub and the VANOS were done too so I'm just replacing worn out stuff now.

I’ve owned a silver grey manual here in the uk for 8 yrs.
The car in the video looks similar to mine. I have Topaz blue with black HRE wheels on it.
The last mechanical car in the BMW M3 E46 which I just acquired =D
I am happy to with my E46 M3 SMG sinds december 2007 km 159980 km a fine car😊
Which the best year for this,
2005 or 2006 in my opinion

I really like these cars. But so far I am finding ones for $20k with over 100k miles on them. Hard pass.
This m3 will only go up in value buddy.
They can get to 200k ..

Great engine….but the e36 M3 was definitely more engaging to drive
