He's got the charisma, skill, selling ability and while he's had the spot light (World Heavyweight Title) he never truly got back up there. Man can be main event Material shown in how they use him to put somebody over these days but they never give him a chance himself to get there anymore. Now he's relagated to a Jobber and don't get me wrong a good one at that. Even Dolph himself knows he's utility at this point as he jokes and says in interviews but man's is definitely a Underated Main Event star in WWE.
Paige and AJ Lee eased the fans into caring about women performers again. They laid the foundation for the womens revolution in WWE. Without them and the work NXT did with the 4 Horsewomen, the womens division probably wouldn’t be what it was today without them. With that said I won’t go so far to say Paige is overrated. It’s just Paige was a product of her time and better women have along far as in-ring and characters. Her whole shtick was her being “The Anti-Diva” now it’s 2022 and she’s gonna have to re-invent herself to be a force in wrestling again.

I think it's more accurate to say she never got the benefits of the transition from FCW to NXT, Unlike the Four Horsewoman and every female wrestler since. I think you could say that about a lot of the NXT first batch who immediately graduated to the main roster. Look at Big E, floundering until he joined New Day and _that's_ when he found his voice.
The thing is, Paige barley wrested after 2015. 2016 she was either injured for suspended outside of a brief stint with Mandy and Sonya before she was eventually forced to retire. So the caveat of “she hasn’t been healthy or hasn’t had the tools around her” really does apply and you go back and look at her career
ALL of the women including The Bellas were unhappy about how short the divas matches were Paige and A.J are often given most credit in changing the women’s division in wrestling But I believe others like The Bellas, Natalya and Naomi deserve credit as well The Bellas and Natalya were around for 7 years by that point and Naomi I believe is one of the most athletic women in women’s wrestling Just cause A.J cut a pipebomb on the cast of Total Divas and just cause Paige called herself the “anti diva” and came from NXT Doesn’t mean they were the ONLY reason the women’s division finally took a turn and eventually got taken more seriously

I mean in ring she's a pretty basic anti diva character but on the mic AJ Lee is really good even after the women's Revolution that introduced a whole lot of great wrestlers only a few on today's roster could cut as good of a promo as AJ Lee could back in like 2014-2015
She was a bit of light in a dark time. And even then, not as bright compared to her surroundings as someone like, say, Lita had been before. Granted, the PG era was never quite as dark in some ways as the Ruthless Aggression years, having an audience of kids limited Vince's ability to openly admit that he saw female performers as eye candy, but in other ways that makes it worse. Sometimes it's OK to be dark. The dark is nice when you're having grown-up late night playtime with one or more fellow consenting adults, with just the moonlight coming through the window to light the way until you see your grownup playmates again in the light of the rising sun. The dark isn't as nice when the power goes out at Chuck E. Cheese during Little Mark's 8th birthday party, and the birthday boy inevitably thinks the noises made by a suddenly powerless animatronic rat are foreshadowing a Bray Wyatt return with a Five Nights at Freddy's inspired gimmick. Paige wasn't the moon, and she wasn't a sunrise. Back then, she was a battery-powered Exit sign. Maybe that was all the system let her be. Maybe she'll get the chance to shine brighter now, put those batteries to good use lighting up something more substantial. But only time will tell, and the standards are higher now.
You get the BIGGEST 100% EVER She was not a big fish at all. She was a reasonable size fish that looks different the others. She wasn't in the same league as the Four Horsewomen. She was ok in the ring - better than most the AEW roster currently but doesn't even begin too touch most of what WWE has now in 4HW, Asuka, Iyo, Kai, Bianca, Sonya, Natalya (wrestling ability and not character), Alexa, Candice, Ripley, *Naomi when shes back and the remainder. Good with scripted programs. But I'd have too see a whole lot more to be convinced of her mic skill and storytelling ability
Unfortunately, it looks like she’s back as a figure head and not an in ring performer. That’s going to lose its shine quickly. I feel like they could have done better than to lean on “Women’s Revolution”. She left, came back four years later and still working that same story or gimmick. She worked the same angle when she was in WWE as a non performer. Maybe this will segue into her competing in ring. Time will tell. It was a little sad when she called for the women’s locker room to come out and only a few women came out. I see where they were going with it but still.

She's mediocre by today's standards. During the Divas days we were all so desperate to see and end to women's matches being the "toilet break match" that we jumped on the "anti-diva" hype. But now that we have women's wrestling being taken seriously, Saraya just doesn't hold up. She's not been in the picttsince the very beginning of the women's revolution and has never proven herself capable of competing at that level. Add to that the years of ring rust and the speed at which things have moved while she's been out....I think she's best left in the past with the Divas and let us get on with those who really built the foundations of women's wrestling today by creating a revolution.
Damn she got overrated really quick when she went somewhere else huh? Facts are, you remember her Emma match because it was in NXT under Trips, got time, and started the whole shebang...you don't remember her other matches because they were under Vince, no time, and working with the Divas who were literally trained to "wrestle like women"(in their own words). I remember AJ Lee and Paige doing the best with what they had in their ppv match but being given 6 mins on ppv after a decent feud. So is she overrated? I don't think we know. She was always a standout among her roster-mates but didn't have the competition or time to excel and not long after that competition arose BOOM retired. She only really got to stick around for that lousy 3 on 3 on 3 team garbage that helped no one. I'll give her a pass on the promo as it's her first time back in years and she used to read WWE's scripts, not cut her own promo. Now we get to see what she's got in the ring and on the mic.
Listen, Paige is good in the ring. There's plenty of women better than her but that doesn't automatically make her trash. The same could be said in regards to anything and everybody. Obviously people are gonna be better than others. However Paige was white hot in the Divas Era. It's like what was said, she was something different back then. And even now with her return you could say she's hot. As far as her mic skills go. I have no idea. There's hasn't been a single female competitor that has wowed me with they're promo skills anyway so to me that's irrelevant. Hell a lot of male competitors aren't even that good on the mic. Guy's like Mr. Kennedy/Mr Anderson, Miz, Cena, Cm Punk are golden on the mic but hardly anyone reaches that level. Back in the day it was Stone Cold and The Rock. They were great on the mic. This is just my opinion on the matter though. If you can keep people interested with your story telling, wrestling and appearance then that's all that's important really.
I have to say i feel like Britt Baker also fits that description, like she had that one lights out match(which in my opinion wasn't that special anyway,but i get why people like it) and that's about it
She was good but not great 7-8 years ago. If she continued to wrestle I think its not crazy to think her wrestling would continue to improve and she would not look out of place with the 4 horsewomen, Asuka, Bianca, and Rhea. This is all speculation trying to judge how much she could improve if she wanted to if she never missed time but I think easily she would at least be where Natalya, Alexa, Liv, Naomi, and Shayna are. Her big thing was she was the first person I can remember that challenged the notion of being a diva in that era. Later on more NXT people came in and killed the Divas era but she was the first and had sort of the anti-diva persona being goth.
Her only memorable promo for me is bringing up Charlotte's dead brother it is memorable in a bad way like Randy's "Eddie's down there, IN HELL" and yes it's her unique look which made her stand out in those early days, nowadays Rhea Ripley is just a better Paige, bigger, stronger, more imposing figure and with an accent, a woman who would legit kill me in a fight.
Paige’s in-ring and mic skills don’t bother me. My problem with her is that she is a fucking bonehead who makes terrible life decisions. ALSO...I’m worried for her physical safety if she does actually wrestle in AEW
As far as in ring yeah she hasn't wrestled in 4 or 5 years so there's ring rust of course. But promos/segments she was cutting promos in 2019 and talking is something we do everyday so it shouldn't be a issue to cut a promo. She has a good story and I'm not big on underrated or overrated but we'll see what she can do now that she's back in the ring and able to work.
The Revolution didn’t start with her 😂 It started in the golden era of womens wrestling with the likes of Trish Stratus, Lita, Jazz, Molly Holly, Victoria, Ivory, Jacqueline, Gail Kim, etc. It was a team effort.

It’s not the wrestling or the promos that build hype around page because yes I do agree she sucks on the mic In the only other future match I could think of her in other than Emma would be AJ Lee but I think it’s the fact that she was a pioneer like how AJ Lee and Emma were and I do consider her a legend because if it wasn’t for her and people like AJ and Emma I don’t think women’s wrestling would be as much as the focus in the main stream as it is now
Saraya is by definition overrated. Wrestling fans at the time got all moist over her and she just isn't as good as people said. She's below average on the mic, is ok in the ring, and she has a good look. That's it. She was needed for women's wrestling at the time. Now idk, not so much. It's not what AEW's women's division needs

Yeah her promo wasn't good but people gotta realize these wrestlers gotta talk infront of thousands on live television, remember a script, and be prepared for any crowd chants or reactions. For example, Liv Morgan's promo on Smackdown after Summerslam. That crowd ate Liv ass up with booes and "You tapped out chants" . Liv had to find a way to talk through that and really couldn't. She was frustrated and looked like she wanted to cry over a match finish that wasn't her fault really. So yeah promos are hard especially if you haven't cut one in years like Paige.
I think the term overrated gets thrown around too lousy, if you thought she was top 10 all time, for sure shes overrated, but bc people liked the character and was happy about a possible new direction with the women

Good for their time and still remembered but better things came out to take their place.

This is kind a silly argument/statement to make by saying “well she was good for her time” can be applied to most wrestlers back in the day. Say what you want but she along with AJ lee was the ones who laid the foundation for what the current wrestlers doing right now. Is the current better in ring wrestlers, yes no debate. But with the limitations even in nxt where the “divas” still couldn’t go beyond a certain level she exceeded what the expectations was.

Okay here it is: When I first saw the title of this video I was ready to defend her endlessly. I was about to say she's this or that but then I decided to just listen and think for a minute so with a heavy heart I have to agree. She was putting on good matches AT THE TIME but not one of her matches can hold up to what any of the aforementioned women named in this video. Asuka vs Nikki Cross (Last Woman Standing) would shit all over Paige's catalog. She was good but she never got any better plus once she took that stinger in that live match, she could never show how much she improved. In my opinion, Paige should've never signed with AEW..why well because if she isn't going to wrestle then the moment was for nothing but a cheap Pop.

This dude's being unfair. Before the Four Horsewomen of NXT, Paige _was_ the best that the Divas Division had to offer. It's just that four very talented female wrestlers got called up and completely overshadowed her. Hell, every callup _since_ has overshadowed her. Even girls like Alexa Bliss who the IWC loves to pretend can't wrestle? Overall better in the ring and on the mic than Paige. The training system they had set up finally paid off, and unfortunately for Paige, she never really benefitted from it herself. She relied on what she already had prior.

Saraya was a big fish in a very little pond, but with the introduction of The four horsewomen, asuka and such the pond grew immensely

She was a bit of light in a dark time. And even then, not as bright compared to her surroundings as someone like, say, Lita had been before. Granted, the PG era was never quite as dark in some ways as the Ruthless Aggression years, having an audience of kids limited Vince's ability to openly admit that he saw female performers as eye candy, but in other ways that makes it worse. Sometimes it's OK to be dark. The dark is nice when you're having grown-up late night playtime with one or more fellow consenting adults, with just the moonlight coming through the window to light the way until you see your grownup playmates again in the light of the rising sun. The dark isn't as nice when the power goes out at Chuck E. Cheese during Little Mark's 8th birthday party, and the birthday boy inevitably thinks the noises made by a suddenly powerless animatronic rat are foreshadowing a Bray Wyatt return with a Five Nights at Freddy's inspired gimmick. Paige wasn't the moon, and she wasn't a sunrise. Back then, she was a battery-powered Exit sign. Maybe that was all the system let her be. Maybe she'll get the chance to shine brighter now, put those batteries to good use lighting up something more substantial. But only time will tell, and the standards are higher now.
This makes me nervous for if AJ Lee were to return because i remember her in the same light as paige so i hope she would be just as good as i remember

She was not a big fish at all. She was a reasonable size fish that looks different the others. She wasn't in the same league as the Four Horsewomen.
She was ok in the ring - better than most the AEW roster currently but doesn't even begin too touch most of what WWE has now in 4HW, Asuka, Iyo, Kai, Bianca, Sonya, Natalya (wrestling ability and not character), Alexa, Candice, Ripley, *Naomi when shes back and the remainder.
Good with scripted programs. But I'd have too see a whole lot more to be convinced of her mic skill and storytelling ability

Unfortunately, it looks like she’s back as a figure head and not an in ring performer. That’s going to lose its shine quickly. I feel like they could have done better than to lean on “Women’s Revolution”. She left, came back four years later and still working that same story or gimmick. She worked the same angle when she was in WWE as a non performer. Maybe this will segue into her competing in ring. Time will tell. It was a little sad when she called for the women’s locker room to come out and only a few women came out. I see where they were going with it but still.

She's mediocre by today's standards. During the Divas days we were all so desperate to see and end to women's matches being the "toilet break match" that we jumped on the "anti-diva" hype. But now that we have women's wrestling being taken seriously, Saraya just doesn't hold up. She's not been in the picttsince the very beginning of the women's revolution and has never proven herself capable of competing at that level. Add to that the years of ring rust and the speed at which things have moved while she's been out....I think she's best left in the past with the Divas and let us get on with those who really built the foundations of women's wrestling today by creating a revolution.

Damn she got overrated really quick when she went somewhere else huh? Facts are, you remember her Emma match because it was in NXT under Trips, got time, and started the whole shebang...you don't remember her other matches because they were under Vince, no time, and working with the Divas who were literally trained to "wrestle like women"(in their own words). I remember AJ Lee and Paige doing the best with what they had in their ppv match but being given 6 mins on ppv after a decent feud. So is she overrated? I don't think we know. She was always a standout among her roster-mates but didn't have the competition or time to excel and not long after that competition arose BOOM retired. She only really got to stick around for that lousy 3 on 3 on 3 team garbage that helped no one. I'll give her a pass on the promo as it's her first time back in years and she used to read WWE's scripts, not cut her own promo. Now we get to see what she's got in the ring and on the mic.

Listen, Paige is good in the ring. There's plenty of women better than her but that doesn't automatically make her trash. The same could be said in regards to anything and everybody. Obviously people are gonna be better than others. However Paige was white hot in the Divas Era. It's like what was said, she was something different back then. And even now with her return you could say she's hot. As far as her mic skills go. I have no idea. There's hasn't been a single female competitor that has wowed me with they're promo skills anyway so to me that's irrelevant. Hell a lot of male competitors aren't even that good on the mic. Guy's like Mr. Kennedy/Mr Anderson, Miz, Cena, Cm Punk are golden on the mic but hardly anyone reaches that level. Back in the day it was Stone Cold and The Rock. They were great on the mic. This is just my opinion on the matter though. If you can keep people interested with your story telling, wrestling and appearance then that's all that's important really.

She was good but not great 7-8 years ago. If she continued to wrestle I think its not crazy to think her wrestling would continue to improve and she would not look out of place with the 4 horsewomen, Asuka, Bianca, and Rhea. This is all speculation trying to judge how much she could improve if she wanted to if she never missed time but I think easily she would at least be where Natalya, Alexa, Liv, Naomi, and Shayna are. Her big thing was she was the first person I can remember that challenged the notion of being a diva in that era. Later on more NXT people came in and killed the Divas era but she was the first and had sort of the anti-diva persona being goth.

Her only memorable promo for me is bringing up Charlotte's dead brother it is memorable in a bad way like Randy's "Eddie's down there, IN HELL" and yes it's her unique look which made her stand out in those early days, nowadays Rhea Ripley is just a better Paige, bigger, stronger, more imposing figure and with an accent, a woman who would legit kill me in a fight.

As far as in ring yeah she hasn't wrestled in 4 or 5 years so there's ring rust of course. But promos/segments she was cutting promos in 2019 and talking is something we do everyday so it shouldn't be a issue to cut a promo. She has a good story and I'm not big on underrated or overrated but we'll see what she can do now that she's back in the ring and able to work.
The Revolution didn’t start with her 😂 It started in the golden era of womens wrestling with the likes of Trish Stratus, Lita, Jazz, Molly Holly, Victoria, Ivory, Jacqueline, Gail Kim, etc. It was a team effort.
If she gets cleared, I gotta see how Saraya is handled on the AEW Roster and plus she would be a running force for the women's division

Yeah her promo wasn't good but people gotta realize these wrestlers gotta talk infront of thousands on live television, remember a script, and be prepared for any crowd chants or reactions. For example, Liv Morgan's promo on Smackdown after Summerslam. That crowd ate Liv ass up with booes and "You tapped out chants" . Liv had to find a way to talk through that and really couldn't. She was frustrated and looked like she wanted to cry over a match finish that wasn't her fault really. So yeah promos are hard especially if you haven't cut one in years like Paige.

Yeah, I don't know if I can say Paige is overrated. Was she a great talker? No but she wasn't bad. She was good at best in the ring. If I had to name some good matches of hers it's really only 3. Vs Emma, vs AJ Lee at Summerslam and she had a pretty good match against Sasha on Raw. She's like the old Spider-Man movies. Good for their time and still remembered but better things came out to take their place.

This is kind a silly argument/statement to make by saying “well she was good for her time” can be applied to most wrestlers back in the day. Say what you want but she along with AJ lee was the ones who laid the foundation for what the current wrestlers doing right now. Is the current better in ring wrestlers, yes no debate.
But with the limitations even in nxt where the “divas” still couldn’t go beyond a certain level she exceeded what the expectations was.

Okay here it is: When I first saw the title of this video I was ready to defend her endlessly. I was about to say she's this or that but then I decided to just listen and think for a minute so with a heavy heart I have to agree. She was putting on good matches AT THE TIME but not one of her matches can hold up to what any of the aforementioned women named in this video. Asuka vs Nikki Cross (Last Woman Standing) would shit all over Paige's catalog. She was good but she never got any better plus once she took that stinger in that live match, she could never show how much she improved. In my opinion, Paige should've never signed with AEW..why well because if she isn't going to wrestle then the moment was for nothing but a cheap Pop.

nah fam the revolution didn't start with Paige, it started and was carried soley by AJ Lee who actually made people care about the "womens division again" and she already was that "slightly different" Diva before Paige and than they just handed her success and title to Paige and because she's not totally terrible she was part of that so called womens revolution but it certainly didn't start with her. As for "Overrated", I'm honestly not sure where people would place her to begin with because she's certainly behind atleast a dozen more competent women. So I don't think she sucks but Overrated might actually be the correct term for her depending on wether people think she's top 10 or not

This dude's being unfair. Before the Four Horsewomen of NXT, Paige _was_ the best that the Divas Division had to offer. It's just that four very talented female wrestlers got called up and completely overshadowed her. Hell, every callup _since_ has overshadowed her.
