J sounds so humble and so gracious. It's a tragedy we lost him so young but as @Ken Torres mentioned, he gave us so many gems are that most definitely still relevant... His music will live on ❤️
after reading the book and scouring these interviews...the man was shy and loved working on music....he worked so hard that his body rejected it...hard work is not the answer to everything... good focused hard work is...in time frames...dont let the establishment work us all back into servitude....and remember ...on the count of three..

Thank you for posting this! It’s crazy how rare interviews with Dilla are. Finding a new one is one of the best feelings ever. He’s truly missed. They’re still trying to catch up!! Bless to the SV Fam
I've been amazed by J Dilla when I first picked up the new Pharcyde back in '95 at Warehouse Records. It's always great to hear something new by him, music or interviews. I hope more youngsters today hear more about him. He was the real deal!
cant believe i just looked up j dilla interview knowning i wont find nothing new , and boom !! this was uploaded yesterday ... !! this is amazing thank you !!
This is amazing to hear. I got a little sad when I heard him talk about all the different kinds of artists he wanted to sign. Imagine the kind of label he could have had. The artists he would have been putting on and helping develop. On top of what he was able to do before he passed. I guess the best thing to do is to try to carry on what he set out to do. Push music forward the right way.
There's so many dilla interviews that aren't upload. Thank you for uploading this! The interviewer knew from the beginning j dilla was unique. ❤ #RipJdilla

I remember being 14 struggling to find J Dilla interviews, videos, only thing I could indulge in was the music which was enough for me. But to hear this now.. is such a blessing. Feel that kid in me again, thank you for this gold!
Such a great interview. Its rare that you find an interviewer who even knows enough about music making to even know what to ask a master craftsman like Dilla.
Wow.. thanks for this gift. Im looking for every reference Dilla mentionned. Can't help to think what a produced Dilla rock band would sound like on McNasty Records.. probably ultra dope
This is incredible. Prior to this I had never heard J Dilla speak/hear his speaking voice. But this is incredible. Mad respects to you Shay for finding this and posting this here to TH-cam. A man of the music. He let the music inform his questions.
Yeh
Disagree, way too focused on equipment, which means nothing

Its hilarious hearing him say he dont like looping , then encounters Madlib , and started to do otherwise later along the line lol

Looped or not, he always mad chopped the shit out of the samples, he wasnt that lazy
