Thank you very much for the video and you have really informed me a lot. I am from Peru and I have the flip 6 gg from China in green and if the grid has a medium reddish appearance between olive green and reddish, in the light the mesh can be seen better It has red and green interweaving and it sounds very good. In fact, after 15 days I bought the charge 5, the tt version from Vietnam, and comparing them in sound, the charge 5 obviously feels bigger in sound but how good bass is felt in the jbl flip 6 at times they sound almost as powerful as the charge 5
I never heard of this before I came across this video, but I’m happy with the way the TT Sounds I Can make any speaker adjustments on the Jbl app 💯
I have the TT too, is it better than the GG or is the GG better? I was almost thinking of returning mine for an exchange...

@@nigelfernandes5883 I have a JBL Flip 6 GG and TT honestly the gg has deeper bass and the highs extend the TT the highs sounds recessed and the bass doesn't hit low in my opinion the gg is better

At Best Buy here in USA only teal and blue were GG. Black was TT.
I got a grey GT from target and it sounds better to me than the GG. It’s also 10g heavier than GG. The funny thing is the Teal GG I got came with the latest firmware, but the GT came with 5.3.3 I think.
GG Made in China and GT in Vietnam.
Why is GT better than GG for you?

@@true_artem GT is practically the GG but with better bass response and slightly louder than the GG. That's why people say that "GG is better" is because of the bass response and best overalls. While the TL (or TT) are louder and produce more low bass compared to the GG (or GT) they do lack that *Thump* on the bass on some songs, like this one in the video. So it really depends on what you get when purchasing one to be really honest 😕
@AlexXDIpX7 ok, i do agree. I rechange my statement after 6 more months of testing. TL and TT have slightly lowers bass responses but they do lack a lot of upper and mid bass overall and have some degree of distortion, making it sound weaker than GT and GG.
This explains everything i recently got a flip 6 purposely for party boost since i already had filp 5 but dint know about the modles. so i unknowingly bought a tl model now my flip 5 is gg which i also dint know about but it sounded way better than the flip 6. I couldn't know why even thought i bought a fake but thanks to your video i wont doubt now

No, they are made from different materials and they will always sound a little different

So they reversed GG and TL this time around? So confusing! Why do they do this? It seems like the paper versions always have better sound meanwhile the plastic versions are more waterproof. Anyone know if the TL plastic version floats?

IMO, GG and TL at the start of their serial numbers means they are manufactured by different production centers on the same spec provided by JBL. So, by chance, TL was "tested" by a YTuber claiming better than a GG Flip 5. As for Flip 6, this YTuber prefers the sound of GG serial number better. It could be just variation of a small samples from this review, and can be subjective. Even if you have in your hands a GG and a TL Flip 6, your comparison may be subjective to your own listening in a somewhat the same acoustic room (but not quite a scientific setup). That said, for a portable speaker of this price range, the sample variation is bound to happen. As for me, I just got a Flip 6 for my BDay, had no idea what GG and TL, until I watched some YT video and found mine a GG serial variant! 🙂

Does sound come out of both sides or just one like the flip 5? A 2015 Anker speaker sounds better than the flip 5 to me just because it's actually stereo even if it's shy on bass.
the f6 is still mono but is has a tweeter

Because the company contracts different production factories thst use slightly different materials and the likes to make the device
Witch 1 won't play unless charged enough for bluetooth. I have to charge speaker before it stays connected to phone. I'm not sure the 1 I have but it's the teal.
My Charge Essential is GG and Flip Essential is TL, I hear the GG more natural in sound but the TL sounds good too

You all know their is equalizer setting in the JBL app right it really doesn't matter adjust to your liking... in general it's basically the same. Flip 6 is a flip6....

Serial # is on the strap bar. First two letters. My old 6 is a TL and new 6 is a TT.

Hey all! I was doubtful if I would receive the GG or TL version of the flip 6, but when my package arrived, it's the CS version. Does anyone know if it's closer to the GG or TL version? Thanks in advance!
Look at Flip5 i think its same and cs are best in waterproof and not rips like tl models (no paper driver speaker)

I have the CS and the TL, they both have a plastic coated cone, underneath it's paper but water won't reach under that ^^ The GG however is paper and isn't coated that much so you still see the paper.

Hola amigo, parece ser que ahora esta invertido el asunto, en flip 5 el modelo GG tiene bocina de plastico y el flip 5 TL de papel, en el flip 6 es al revés, flip 6 GG es de papel y flip 6 TL Plastico….. en flip 5 modelos TL y TT tenian mas bass debido al papel…. Pero flip 5 GG es más resistente al agua!! Saludos!

TL for better quality build 👍 it has plastic cone fully water prof and durability . Gg little bit bass and little mid, but outdoor u cannot hear it. Is important to tl deep bass is pleasant ,upperbass you can hear it and mid high, people saying the TL so Loud Volume than GG. For me TL more improved👍💪 and importane speaker is Plastic Cone. .
@@jayjay27_JBL the paper in the gg cant break in water its good paper its the same papper with flip 5 gg woofer i test flip 5 gg woofer in the water with lfm for 30 mins in 90vol and the woofer isnt break and gg in flip 6 is better
@@JBLdestroyer but it's not as durable as the plastic cone, and yes, everything with ip67 is also durable and I know that, but it's a cardboard cone, not like the charge 5 ND and flip5TL plastic cone. and it's high quality. And when it's submerged in water, I've tested it on my flip 5 and yes, it will take a long time, but if it doesn't damage the speaker, it's a low-class build. tnx😁👌

Unlike Plastic, it's not as beautiful, but that's what is done to make it stable and not break. flip6 TL we know it's louder than the GG, it also rumbles but it's not that strong, the bass of the GG is just a little bit louder, but the TL is louder and listened to outdoors, can you hear the deep bass when the midrange is outside? It's fine but the mid vocal is more clear and clean and high. GG-bassrange TL-Midrange the GG vs tribit storm blast TL is like a boombox 2, the midstage is strong and the sound is fresh

I've got a blue one. It's a GG. I'm from the Netherlands.
Guys I got a GG and TL myself. The GG sounds way better. The bass is more lower and more defined. the high frequencies extend higher and smoother. This is very important for audiophiles because the TL has a wild cutoff in its highs. The average Joe wont be able to discern though

I accidentally purchased 2. They both say EM or GT in the serial number. Made in Vietnam. Does anyone have any idea what this means?
