Hello! I'm a d2 Vet myself, and it's nice to see more people doing D2r content. Started posting some D2R content but I'm not really sure how to grow my channel
It depends on the goal of the channel - and it would be a bit much for me to dive into solely as a single comment. So basically, while I don't agree with 100% of what he says, probably the best place to look for good, real world, and functional advice for content creation would be Channel Maker ( th-cam.com/users/ChannelMakers ) - I don't know anything about the program he tries to sell, but the actual videos themselves are good advice.
I really do wish more games would learn from D2's itemization - most either go overly convoluted, or too simple, and are afraid to give players the opportunity to break stuff (d2 is one of the few games that allow class-defying builds), there's also a weird focus on post-game gear in most modern aRPGs sadly, rather than developing an interesting curve (d2 had an awful curve when it first launched, but LoD, and its patches, really helped that curve)
For many, many years, I just assumed class-specific items had freakishly high durability. An interesting Necro shield idea (or maybe a 2soc shield runeword?) would be an item that gives -% enemy magic resistance. More oSkills would be great for new class-specific uniques, as its limited use case would let you know at a glance how busted the oSkill will be, thereby making the items easier to balance Also, this was such a great series, love seeing it all in one place.
Funnily enough, on the hammer portion. Windhammer is still my favorite druid hammer. I use it to this day still. Unless i get that 300% ED bonesnap then up that one all the way.
i always wanted that each class has 2 types of class specific gear: 1 weapon and 1 armor. amazon: bow, jav, spear/gloves assassin: katar,claw,cestus/ boots barbarian: 2h sword,throw axe,maul/ helms druid: mace,1h axe,staves/ pelts necromancer: dagger,wand,xbow/ totem,bone shield paladin: 1h sword,scepter,lance/ shield sorceress: orbs/ belts

sadly all the war scepter variants (war/divine scepter, caduceus) are 3/5/5 scepters - so your best bet is just going to be farming nightmare with no MF, and hoping rng likes you (nightmare has a dropped item cap of 4 sockets - but you will be limited to war scepter/divine scepter). The other method is socket rolling white war scepters/divine scepters/caduceus from nightmare or above - though you have a 17% chance per roll of it being 4 sockets.
It's because Witchwild is a generically "strong bow" - and falls into the same category as items like Harlequin's crest in that it is useful for a lot of builds, even though it's usually not BiS.
I just lost the Kuko Shakaku, after dying in Hell difficulty. I couldn't retrieve the corpse, so I backed out. When I came back, everything was there but the bow. Now, I'm trying to farm Thresh Socket, hoping to see it drop again. There's conflicting opinions as to whether or not a unique will drop twice. Any thoughts?
Oculus proc is usually more useful than not, but the times it's not almost invariably cause a death making it essentially unplayable on Hardcore. On Softcore it's arguable to be best in slot for Magic Finding.
don't add items... just fix the garbage ones we already have, otherwise they will continue to gather dust. 2 biggest ones that need fixing are unique sin claws and amazon uniques but tbh all of them need some love.
quick, replay the arachnid's mesh portion ;) (I swear, it feels like I get more drops when I'm camping d2 streams too vs most my other "listening while playing" activities)
Question why are uniques always so cheap when you try to sell them to vendors? Doesn't make sense why a vendor will give you 3k gold for an awesome unique. Just wondering
i always have one in stash for farming nila keys. don't really care about the dmg red but the slain monsters rest in peace mod cause fuck that corpse explosion xD
the unique i would like to see the most is a unique quiver for bolts and arrows. lets face it: since the heavy nerfs in patch 1.10 cause of how insanely op the zone was in pvp a bowa now sucks fucking hard even in pvm. you spend like 50 bers worth to get high end gear like faith, windforce, artisans tiara of speed, 15/35+ed jools and such and it still just sucks ass. and on the other hand you loose a slot compared to every other class that would either have an option for a good offhand or shield. a unique quiver could add stuff like auto rep so you don't have to run buying arrows, could add resistances and other useful mods.. it would be great to give that little boost to a very underpowered class build.
The reason they will never find the 6/40 and 4/40 is because they’re not farming areas that have mass amount of mobs that has the desired bases on drop charts and even then it’s still rare
As someone who has just recently started playing D2R, watching this video feels like listening to someone complain about their garage full of luxury super cars lol.
I'd recommend avoiding asking about items on reddit/forums if this sounds like complaining - most won't explain the use cases, they'll just say "charsi it"
You can believe that if you wish, it just shows a build preference rather than a mechanical knowledge on your part though, since they are both niche helmets.

This gets more and more addicting every time i love D2 with itemization and leveling one of the best games ever made.

Nature's peace is used in sorc builds that farms Nihl :p not sure if that counts.
Natures peace is also good on paladins

Alzorath, do you know how many characters you can have in offlline single player? I have heard it is either 20 or 30?
no limit that I'm aware of in single player - I have over 60.

My favorite thing is how he can name a million uses for any obscure weapon and then when he gets to Witchwild String theres zero mention of Witchyzons

a unique will only drop once per session, but as soon as you make a new game, all uniques are again possible.

generally, at high end gear, as long as I cross ~250%, I swap it out for something that boosts kill speed or survivability.

Personally I feel the best low level melee armor is boneflesh and rattle cage and twitchthrow
