How to Propagate Pilea peperomioides or Chinese money plant | How to Grow Pilea peperomioides?

  • The Pilea Peperomioides, also known as Chinese money plant. Pilea is easy to propagate, is because the plant makes her own babies you just have to take away from her. There are two ways the plant grows new babies, some of them grow on the stem of the plant and other ones pop up from underneath the soil.
    The leaves can produce new babies if they have some piece/part of stem.🌱🌱💚

    Finally, a useful video for my delimma. I got my first pilea today and broke a bottom stem off. 😭 But now I see you can propagate via water. Thank you.

      I'm pretty sure it only works if you have part of the main stem, as only this material has the genetic makeup to grow new plants.
      Please if it worked tell me. 😊

    This is one of my favorite plants to propagate! They grow so fast and it’s adorable. Great information!

    The whole reason I watched this video was to see the harvesting technique to propagate from cuttings and you skipped/didn't show the most important part. Disappointed 😞 video started off so good.

    Hi friend - Angela here! My kids just pulled off half of the leaves of my pilea, but I will definitely try to propagate once it regrows LOL Have a great day!

    For your single leaf propagation, did you end up putting it in a pot and are you able to grow a whole new plant from it?

    So I can propagate also by putting my leaf ending in water? I just transplanted and had a few leaves fall off. I can’t bare to just throw them away, or let them just die. is that what you did with that last part of your video? I noticed you had a stem with lots of roots.

    Hello, thx very useful info. I have one question though. The rooted leaf u have in a jar, is it regular leaf or with some piece of stem? And if it's just a leaf, will it grow into a new plant? I heard, the single leaf will root but never grow as a new plant, unless there is a piece of stem cut with it. Thx in advance

    • @lushgarden679
      @lushgarden679  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi!
      Yes the single left will not produce new plants but it can produce new babies if it has a small part of stem😊

    my pilea has become sad and dropped some leaves... can I plop them in water to propagate? Or do they need to be removed from plant in a specific way in order to water propagate? Thanks so much in advance.

    • @lushgarden679
      @lushgarden679  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In my view the leaves should be healthy and fresh. And I can say that it’s not possible to propagate if the dropped leaves are aged one.

    Question, a friend of mine sent me this plant that your reviewing and unfortunately it wasn’t packaged properly and a lot of the leaves snapped off but there’s still some stems on the leaf. If I put those leaves with what stem is left in water will it grow roots and turn into an actual plant or will it grow roots and just be a single leaf and never grow anything else?

    • @lushgarden679
      @lushgarden679  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! The single leaf produces roots only(under my experiment).

      Darn. Thanks so much. Well I have those broken leaves that snapped off in water so I’ll just have a pot full of leaves LOL.
