The hatchback hydraulics for the forerunner door sounds. Genius :) The direction 343 is going, it's too much, it ends up sounding overly complex. Kind of a cheesy sci fi sound. Bungie makes it simple. Alarms are real fire alarms with some post processing. 343's alarm is full of layers, and sounds kinda cheesy and overly complex.. My example is the reactor alarm in the level Cortana for Bungie, and the Cairo Station alarm in Halo 2 Anniversary for 343. Just my arrogant opinion on the matter of who was better at Halo.
The thing that amazes me the most out of massive projects is how these people must be asking themselves at times- "what the hell are we doing smashing pots and pans against concrete bricks" just to make noises, and yet they keep persisting forward. It makes you realize that these systems, despite how complex they seemingly are, come down to a combination of individual clicks on computer screens, muscular movements, and yelling into microphones.
A wise man once told me this advice: If you were trapped in a jail cell with walls 10 feet thick in every direction, and you had to escape, but the walls weren't concrete, they were birthday cake, how would you escape? One bite at a time.

How are drums/percussions made for the game point of view? They sound really different and really good. I've been trying to program percussions like these.. But i'm nowhere close to this. Anyone here to guide me?
Its a very late reply but i believe it sounds good because it's an actual percussions instruments being played not a sound programmed through the computer. I love it!
