Its been a while since I watched GSM Arena but man you got jacked!!! Looking good!
OneUI 6.1 also deletes a lot of options for the nav bar. You now always see the home swipe indicator. You need Good Lock's NavStar module to bring all the extra features (such as using Samsungs own gestures and hiding the indicators) back into the menu.
Yeah, it kinda sucks because I barely use the circle to search. I just ended up shirnking it down to the smallest size possible and changed it to transparent. It's not too bad like that but I wish they let us get rid of it all together.
@@jordanjackson8873 I suspect Google is the reason why things moved around in the first place. Given the option magically appears back in the settings instead of being accessed through Good Lock directly makes me think this is the case.

This feature alone is an iphone killer
It's already been there on Samsung internet beta, even on one ui 5
Option to play TH-cam in background was present in many browsers until Google forced them to remove this feature few years ago. Maybe now they're allowing it

You forgot to mention that in ONE UI 6.1 the AOD mode is very similar to that of iOS, with background wallpaper. And the new lock screen in version 6.1 is also basically identical to iOS, with widgets and wallpaper effects.
The most amazing thing about OneUI is that you click "Close all" in the recent apps menu and it ACTUALLY CLOSES ALL apps. Which I haven't seen on OxygenOS, MIUI and a few more custom layers. These randomly leave open apps, including the current tab, that sometimes get closed and sometimes not. It's basically the random menu (and, yeah, it doesn't have anything to do with the locking app feature, it's just completely random).
My biggest complain with OneUI, being a Fold 3 and 4 owner, is that there were never any foldables improvement in terms of UI design or usability. In fact, the first OS for foldables that ever existed, WaterOS for the Royole FlexPai, does some things way better than OneUI, and it was launched 6 years ago..

Oppo/OnePlus close all but the current app. If you want all, all, you have to be on the home screen.
@@raresborcea I have two devices on Oxygen OS and it doesn't work like that. But, anyway, Samsungs closes all apps using close all, which seems unreal to me, using quite a few devices from several brands and custom layers.

Needs note pen icon without the pen , if wanted, I definitely do , I also love the copy and past options.
I hate that you can no longer tap on the name of a quick settings (or long tap on the icon) to open a submenu (such as volume panel). Instead it takes you out of the app into the settings

samsung pass is not new
Its amazing that we have become a society that concerns itself with haveing to move a finger all the way over a 2 inch screen and tap a button one extra finger movement. No hunting and gathering. We have soft hands and a maybe a gym membership. The only danger we face is human narcissism.

I don't know what is he trying to pull here, but below features that were already a part of one UI 5.1
1. Long press to open Shortcut of an app without opening the app itself
2. Task switcher to split screen/pop-up view
3. Edge panel to split screen/pop-up view
4. Shortcut for multi app split screen
5. Storage of split screen app pairs in edge panel
6. Double press Power to open camera
7. Color palette based on your wallpaper
and many more. I stopped the video after 2:40.

And he didn't even mention how Samsung removed the "usage from last full charge" option within battery settings in One UI 6.

You missed talking about Auracast which is truly transformative technology and how One UI 6.1 leverages that technology for the first time. This is a very big deal for those with hearing aids, earbuds, headphone, and so much more. Auracast compatibility now needs to be search filter feature for the GSMArena phone search filters. Please add that critical search filter. Thanks
4:07 I prefer the old Quick Settings panel. Current one looks like copied from Oppo or Realme OS.
Samsung's One UI is far more advanced & provides enriched smartphone experience; far better than any other Android skins & iOS is not even in the league for comparison.

Saw a couple of features my Redmi Note 12 got back in October '23 that I don't use. Then again, just about every smartphone I've owned has features I don't use.
I've decided to give Samsung another try after that disappointment I got January '23 and ordered a Galaxy S22. This will be my first high-end phone.🤞🏼

The dots under each homescreen page are the most unnecessarily glaring aesthetic choice that could ever easily be fixed by making them fade away after a couple of seconds off no screen activity.
Did they ever make it so you can uninstall all the samsung bloatware apps? Im so unhappy with the direction pixel is taking but i dont plan on giving up my stock android

Samsung removed the bottom invisible navigation bar and replace it with apple like navigation bar but i sucks specially side swipe which u can accidentally swipe app and might on or off some settings.
Anyone on One UI 6 found that Color Palette does not work on basically any Google apps; they all stay the default blue...
You're mentioning a ton of things that were on my note 20 Ultra years ago. My s24 ultra already has 5.1 but my Galaxy tab S8+ just got it last night.
All this am sure are only available in newer or more expensive phones. On my A72 most of them are not available.

I'm buying this in 4 days but I'm a bit hesitant because of the 120hz refresh rate
if I can't dial it down to 90hz to save a bit of battery usage, is it a big problem? too much battery drain difference between 90hz and 120hz??
No it makes almost no difference.
What about Bluetooth Super Wideband? Does One ui 6 support Bluetooth Super Wideband and HFP 1.9 like the Google Pixel 8?

I missed ONE UI so much…gonna go back to Samsung again, typing using My iphone 12 pro sluggish keyboard.
You wont regret switching back to OneUi but iOS still remains the best software experience imo

Hey GSMArena could give me one of samsung's flagship phones
One ui OS is the best among android phones in my opinion. i had a chance to experience the several Os such as google os, oxygen os, realme ui, miui, ios and ipadOS but one ui offers better customization and experience.
MIUI is the worst. Xiaomi has great hardware but poor software.

Exactly, Mi series, Redmi and Poco phones have poor OS updates. and above all some of it will eventually suffer from bootloop or deadboot. they offer you lower price and prioritize chipset but gives you poor software. As they say "you pay what you get".
You didn't show the basics of how to open the 'recent apps' menu. You skipped that part and only showed the already opened recent apps menu. It was difficult to figure it out since my custom settings from before One UI 6.1 are no longer available. So, you have to swipe up from the bottom of the screen and hold your finger in place for a moment. Also, you didn't demonstrate how to use the 'back' action in this new gesture menu. These are the BASICS OF BASICS.
What about emojis? Are the same ones from 6.0.
