    In the old school days all we had was 2 and 4ch amps and bridging was common for using amps with subwoofers. Thanks for this vid, I'll forward people over who ask about bridging, linking or skrapping dey amps.

      Williston Audio Labs do you remember me telling you about how the term “Strapping/Strapped” has been contorted & twisted in the car audio world? The original technique of Strapping two or more amps meant running them in parallel, which allows each amp to share the load. So a lower impedance can be driven than what just one amp is rated for. Nice to see Tony point this out here in the video, even though car audio seems to have hi jacked the term 😆

    So one amp takes care of the positive side of the wave while the other handles the negative? 🤔 I never really knew how two strapped amps worked untiil now. Thank you for that lesson Tony!! Glad to see you making videos again. Keep them coming and keep us posted on your upcoming projects!!

    Thanks for making these. Back in the day your first series of videos helped me. Its one thing to know what 10+10 equals by memorizing past experiences but its another to know how it works to apply to all future experiences.

    Great information. It was a good explanation. I think there is irony in this video. The sound quality was very low and I had to turn my headphones all the way up. That's coming from an engineering company that seems to be specializing in sound systems and tools for them.

    Is this similar to what amp manufacturers do when they take two boards and put them together in the same chassis? That being internal and this being external.... on a grander scale?

    Topic suggestion: When and how to use phase switches. I have some Rockford Fanatic Q’s with phase switches and two RF amplifiers also with phase switches. How can the average Joe tell when and how to use these?

    It would be nice if you could explain all pass filters. I know what they do and what they are. But they don't make sense to me on how they work.

    U have 2 massive drago 6k amps in series and 2 d4 sundown x18 subs currently at 4 ohm to the amplifiers, if I wire it down to 1 ohm to the amps will I need enough voltage to power them to .5 each or am I good to run just 300a alternator xs power 3400r front and d3100 rear? I plan to upgrade to headway lithium bank in the future

  • @69MazdaR100
    @69MazdaR100 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I assume the amplifiers need to be “strappable” by design in order for this feature to work, and one can’t just invert an input and wire any amplifier pair in series, is this correct?

    • @nismotony
      @nismotony 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      69MazdaR100 most amplifiers can be bridged by inverting the input signal to one of them

    I think strapped came from the outputs being strapped to each other and then the load via the wire.
