Geophagus & Chocolate Cichlid Update

  • An update on the Hypselecara temporalis (Chocolate Cichlid) and the Geophagus surinamensis Cichlid from Bill's Cichlid Room.
    Both these species come from South America and grow to 12 Inches, but are both peaceful species and very compatable with each other.

    The males also develop trailers earlier on, especially the more dominant male.

    Good looking Surinamensis. They’re coming along fine. I have 6 of them that I’ve had for about the same amount of time and I noticed some of them have a more defined larger blockish shaped head along with their larger size. That’s how I distinguish between the sex.

    you might have found by now these Geophagus are not surinemsis (which are just about non existent in the hobby). You have here Geophagus altifrons and they look great.
