The effect of flow rate on oil recovery by waterflooding is studied using a two-dimensional, layered sand model that allows visual observation. The objective of the study is to investigate the effect of variations in flow rate, oil viscosity, and interfacial tension on recovery and internal flow behavior in a 2D, layered sand model. The study includes a visual model showing the vertical cross section of the reservoir to observe the flow regimes, including gravity effects. The book Visual Reservoir - Episode Two: Waterflooding presents the fundamental principles and applications of waterflooding oil-recovery techniques, covering topics such as displacement efficiency, waterflood design, and the influence of reservoir geology on waterflood operations.

What viscosity are the water and oil used in this experiment? Lots of fingering so I expect its a fairly high ratio. I would be curious to see what it looks like with a lower ratio.

    very good!
