Interface Fluidics
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 10 เม.ย. 2017
Interface Fluidics transforms how the energy industry gathers and uses fluid information for more accurate, cost-effective and environmentally-conscious decision making in the field. Our testing technology shows you how fluids behave at the pore scale and provides critical phase behaviour information for building computer reservoir models. Interface solutions have helped the energy industry cut chemical costs, increase ROI, and take the guesswork out of operations. Smaller samples also mean less energy use and lower emissions.

Thanks for the insights! When you are optimizing the loading for a specific matrix can you take charge and clay chemistry into account?
I cannot find the mentioned paper "Ever see a Water Flood?", which was said to be the first paper on Microfluidics in Oil and Gas. Can you provide a link to it or send me a copy, please?
thank you.
Has the wax precipitation study that occurred along with scaling due to incompatible injection water in the North Sea Operator Waterflooding case been published? I would like to learn about the wax experiments and management strategy that was deployed.
The effect of flow rate on oil recovery by waterflooding is studied using a two-dimensional, layered sand model that allows visual observation. The objective of the study is to investigate the effect of variations in flow rate, oil viscosity, and interfacial tension on recovery and internal flow behavior in a 2D, layered sand model. The study includes a visual model showing the vertical cross section of the reservoir to observe the flow regimes, including gravity effects. The book Visual Reservoir - Episode Two: Waterflooding presents the fundamental principles and applications of waterflooding oil-recovery techniques, covering topics such as displacement efficiency, waterflood design, and the influence of reservoir geology on waterflood operations.
how i can get the slides?
19:05 Anton Paar’s classic technique. Density/Viscosity at high temperature/pressure conditions can be done in another fluidic way in combined with the Onsager’s reciprocal relations. --- Nice talk, greet from Calgary.
Am ready to work in your company
I am happy to work with you as an R&D partner to advance your hydrogen, EOR and flow assurance technologies.
How accurate is CPM as used with opaque oils for wax deposition experiments, from your experience at Interface Fluidics?
How can I get a report and papers published from the Case study involving wax-stabilized crude oil emulsions, please? I will like to discuss it in detail as I am doing something similar. Can I have a contact person and email please?
Hi @basseybassey6834 you can reach out to Jelayne Fortin. Her email is jelayne.f@interfacefluidics.com
@@InterfaceFluidics Thanks. I have sent her an email.
Whoa! Thanks for the shoutout!
Excellent presentation May have another application with alkaline nanobubble dispersions for you to test!
Hi, David! Feel free to send us a note at info @ InterfaceFluidics.com, we'd love to hear more about your work.
Do your company make custom micro fluidic chips for surfactant EOR depending on core microscope images?
Hi, yes - we can use core microscopic images to design a representative reservoir analogue. Additional information such as pore/grain size distribution, porosity and permeability can be helpful to design a well-customized microfluidic analogue. Please email us at info @ interfacefluidics.com if you want to learn more.
#XS15 replaces all surfactants, and is NOT a forever chemical.
How much pressure can these systems withstand? Is it really possible to work at reservoir conditions, e. g., above 350 bar?
Hello Lucas. Our commercial systems can hold pressures up to 500 bar. The version in this video is a simpler demonstration system that is not running at high-pressure. We would be happy to talk with you more about our commercial foam analysis. Please email us at info @ interfacefluidics.com if you want to learn more.
How do you upscale the results from a microfluidic analog to a conventional coreflood or even to reservoir scale?
Hi, Lucas! Our microfluidic analogue is a diagnostic and screening tool to investigate the impact of different operational parameters on the oil and gas in situ process. While the microfluidic results cannot be directly upscaled with 1:1 proportion to the coreflooding or reservoir scale, the relative performance of different variables can be similar to that at larger scales. It is noted the similar trend exists for upscaling the coreflood results to the reservoir scale. If you'd like more information, feel free to email us at info at interfacefluidics.com.
Great videos! Could you tell me what coating did you use to make the acrylic more hydrophilic or more hydrophobic? Thanks!
Thanks Dito. For modifying the wettability we used surface coatings made by Aculon. One hydrophobic and one hydrophilic. For our commercial work, we have developed a different coating process that creates a more moderate and field representative contact angle.
👍
nice
This answered my question from the other video... very cool! Thanks for posting this
What viscosity are the water and oil used in this experiment? Lots of fingering so I expect its a fairly high ratio. I would be curious to see what it looks like with a lower ratio.
Good explanation
very good!
Is this a Hele - shaw micro model? what are the specs of this model. Thank you.
Hello Asad. This is a laser-etched plastic micromodel (6"x12"). It is not a Hele-Shaw model. This particular model is high porosity and permeability and is based around an Alberta Oil Sands reservoir.
Very cool! What software can be used to create and simulate flow into these chips?
Hello Phil. This is all video footage from microfluidic tests. We use software to analyze the footage and extract the data, but not do generate the images.
Congratulation for publish these videos! This kind of initiative would encourage more people to get interesting in EOR research related to tar sand and heavy oil reservoirs
Luã Monteiro Guimarães thank you! We are working to put out more videos soon.
Hi Gents ; can you please tell me , how much is the injection pressure applied in your experiences ..!! is the behavior change on the field scale with high pressure values ?? Regards .
Hello Bestek, these models were done with constant injection flow-rate (25 ul.min), not constant pressure. The pressure is quite low, on the order of a few psi. The pores in this model are similar scale to the field. If the pressure of the entire model is much higher, the results should not change. If there is a high pressure-differential across the model, there will be a much higher flow-rate of water and the results would be quite different.
