I still have this video on VHS from when my dad bought a craftsman mower, I liked watching it and now I use the mower myself... by the way, WHO THE HELL FOLLOWS ANY OF THESE RULES?
I noticed that in the earlier years of craftsman mowers (1992-1994) the steering column seems to be very loose after a year or two, i use mine pretty hard so i know that could be a possibility but any suggestions for a quick fix??
In the beginning of the video it said "Congrats on your purchase of one of the finest lawn and garden tractors made" you dont hear that anymore nor are they well built, they always screw us over with the newer mowers that have tose so called "USB ports" ITS A LAWN MOWER NOT A FUCKING CAR.
Thanks for that great video. I just bought a Craftsman's Automatic transition one. Though I became quickly familiar with the mower at the store operating it is a different story. Just watching this video was causing my head to spin. But, when I get mine they will be telling me more about it and having me driving it around before they leave. Getting too old for power rotary mowers even if they are self propelled. I'm not a fan of lawn tractors but out of necessity I better become a fan. Speaking of children riding with the parents on these dangerous weapons if an operator allows it, I see this all the time around here thinking what is going through their heads.
My daughters won't start or even turn over since last use. Being an hour and half from her it's hard to tell her what it could be. I think it's either a safety switch or a bad cylinoyd(sp). Don't know where the cylinlyd is located. Can someone help me with where this thing is located and need some help about where the safety switches are. Thanks...........
If it’s the solenoid use a screw driver to jump it or if it’s the seat safety it is just located directly under the seat but remember the clutch has to be fully depressed and it needs at least 80 lbs on the seat safety switch. It could also be a dead battery
In this video it says do not use high grade gasoline, they say it burns hotter. This is the contrary of everything I've heard about high grade gasoline. High grade gasoline burns cooler and thus is the reason your engine does not knock and runs smoother. And I'm pretty sure Briggs and most engine manufacturers not suggest a high grade gasoline. I know for certain RedMax and Honda does.
I usually unhook all the safety switches, there are annoying as f#$ck, can't even get off the mower to pick something up without disengaging the blades.
This video has an utterly impeccable aesthetic
Remember when they were made like a tool not a toy?
I still have my 1998 Craftsman mower it will be 27 yers old on OCTOBER 8 MY B-DAY
What engine in that one?

What is an EZ3 mowing deck? Is it just the model? I’ve seen 2 and 3 blade EZ3 mowing decks.
WOW! I never knew that a machine like a lawn tractor is so powerful that it can only be operated by adults!!! lol.
wow times have changed
What makes my mower cut uneven and leave a taller patch of grass in the middle of the cut?
joe taylor Three things cause these issues... One: Blades are dull or damaged. Two: Deck isn't level. Three: Deck is clogged with grass.
Unequal tire pressure can also cause this problem
the left side of your body may weigh 100 lb more than the right.
John Russell
Your feminine half is fat.
Thank you for asking this question! Mine is doing the same thing!
Oh ok. I've got slideshows up of the restoration of my tractor.

I love how they recommend gas no more than 30 days old I once ran a tank that was about 7 months old and it ran fine
Just to cover themselves really. Once moisture doesnt get at it fuel is still usable. It wont have the same punch as fresh stuff but itll still work
I'm 12 and I use one of these for cutting a 1.3 acre lot
