  • Got a work or family trip planned? Why not bring your Big BMX?!?
In this video, I review the Evoc Bike Travel Bag (285L size) that I purchased from Www.Citygrounds.com I used the bag to bring my SE Bikes Big Ripper 29” BMX (also purchased from City Grounds).
It’s a sturdy bag with fiberglass/FRP rods that help support the shape of the bag and protect your wheels when baggage handlers throw it under everyone else’s suitcases …
The dimensions are 55” long x 32” high x 16” wide, and it weighs 17 pounds (empty!!)! If you add these lengths up, you are well beyond the “standard suitcase size” and Southwest will charge you for oversized luggage …
Most Big BMX bikes are north of 30 pounds, so be prepared for weight charges if this bag exceeds 50 pounds … however, you only get charged once for overweight or oversize, so I just paid $75 more to bring this on each flight.
One thing I figured out … if they’re gonna charge you, take advantage of it! I loaded up a couple golf clubs (irons and drivers) for our family trip to Hawaii, and they fit no problem.

    Enjoy the video, THANKS!

What you need is the plastic axle caps that companies use in the new bike boxes. Any bike store will have in their trash.

Your peg wheelies are looking dialed! Also , if you can get a hold of the plastic axle covers, that ship with new bikes , that would be perfect for preventing damage.

Only 108 degrees. Great clip Liam. I’m sure it’s useful info for other dad mode wheelie enthusiasts.

Thanks for the info Liam! Eventually I want to bring my bike up to Cali and do one of those long SE rides once all this Covid stuff is done so I appreciate the info! That bag looks like it held up pretty well and protected your bike, once you used that magazine. Mahalo for the video!

What about The handle bars? Did they have any issues with you taking them on plane?
