  • Pinarello have launched two new ranges of bikes. To do this, they have got rid of the Prince and Paris and have simplified their range with a new F series and X series. The F series is to be made their new affordable race bike while the X series has gone on to become their endurance offering. It's clear that Pinarello are targeting a market which can't quite afford a Dogma but still want the same performance. What do you make of the new bikes from Pinarello?

    Pinarello always had "cheaper" bikes in its portfolio, Gan, Paris, Prince. So that's not the new aspect here. It's a "cheaper" bike with Dogma geometry. So they do what the big brands are doing already for years.

      @@xgalvan1 You're confusing between the concept of being able to pay for something and being able to afford something. A lot of people think being able to buy/pay for something expensive means that YOU CAN AFFORD IT but often times that affording comes from using credit and NOT debit/direct funds or wads of cash. This is the easiest way to know if you're financially strong.
      If you're making a purchase and paying it directly from your funds and it doesn't burden you financially then you can afford it. If you're using your credit to pay for it then that just mean you can pay for it overtime so YOU CAN'T AFFORD IT. Most people CAN'T afford a car or a home BUT THEY CAN PAY FOR IT, right?
      Its funny when you look at it this way. I would say that most of us wouldn't want to pay +3k for a road bike if we're not professionals because it's just not wise financially due to our commitment and only people who are well off can "AFFORD" to do so. If it's pocket change you wouldn't care, right? Being able to afford expensive things and pay for expensive things are two separate things.🧐

    This had been a trend for many many years, bike company have a top tier, and then there will be lower tiers of the exact same geometry for cheaper tags. Was thinking Pinarello wants to be different or premium, that only the top tier gets its own geometry, and every tier has their corresponding geometry. But realistically, if I only want that racy geometry of Dogma F, but can’t afford it, I wouldn’t buy a Prince or Gan, because they are different animals! Wise move Pina, given the decline in the industry! But curious to see if they are still able to maintain their quality for those cheaper models.

  • @SrFederico
    @SrFederico ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The colourways are either boring or too busy, for my taste.
    That you have to upgrade wheels and tires is just standard with almost every bike in almost every price range, and I rather have cheap stuff destined for landfill than expensive stuff.
    I wonder why with these builds they miss their most solvent target group - by not providing a top tier endurance bike. Because when you can afford a Pinarello, you need some money, are most likely a bit older and most likely less flexible.
    I at least am happy to have bought a Prince FX last year, which is a bit higher in the front than the Dogma. And having it built from a frameset, much cheaper and completly to my taste, omitting landfill at all.
