Hi Eric, We live an a free country! Doesn’t matter the state, this is the country where you can make your dreams come true with a lot of hard work and consistency. Thank you very much 💕
@@ABASource Ok, then come to CA or IL or any BLUE state. I'm pretty sure you will be greeted with the same equal opps. Just sayin'!! Love your spirit and your attitude.
Hey Anna - Loved your video! I am an RBT with a Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences and I will be pursuing my Masters in Applied Behavior Analysis to become a BCBA. I love the field of ABA, it's my life. It does not feel like work to me. ABA at work and home; my son is in the spectrum and if it would not be for him, I would not be here. Thank you for all the wonderful and accurate information provided about the agencies. Good luck in all your future endeavors and I will keep watching your videos.
Thank you for taking the time to comment Karla. I appreciate it so very much. I’ll keep working hard to provided accurate information so children such as your son can receive the best therapy possible. It all begins with us. If we are educated as a field, the future of our kiddos is so very bright 😍😍
I am currently going through this now with companies. So glad i came across this video b/c i thought it was only in Texas where this was happening. THANKS!!
Cary P WHAT! Wow congratulations on both passing your exam and graduating!!!! 🎉🎊🍾 I’m so glad you find my videos helpful thank you for the support and welcome to this amazing field🤍🤍🤍
Do you know why most agencies only offer 1099? I have a contract saying i’ll be an independent contractor or something like that and i don’t know if i should sign
I would love to learn about the requirements to being a BCaBA!! i currently have my BS in Criminal Justice and minored in Psychology. I’m an RBT but was wondering if I took a few more courses I could be a BCaBA before going for my masters in ABA & becoming a BCBA
Love this ! Been to 3 different clinics and they have soo many different rules Just saw your bcaba video because I'm having the worst time finding who can give unrestricted hours because none of them have allowed me to.
Congratulations Anna! I would like for you to make a detailed video on how to become a BCaBA, and could you also make a detailed video on how to become an RBT as a free agent. Thank you!
If you want to see a video on how to become a BCaBA from me then you got it! ( I will work on it ASAP) As far as becoming a free agent, it really depends on the agency. Unfortunately many clinics are no longer doing this because the BACB has recently changed their regulations and are encouraging clinics to hire their RBT's as their own employees instead of independent contractors. Thank you so much for watching my videos, I hope you have learned a lot!
My end goal is to be an OT. I love how ABA is very similar to OT! I find that the difference is mainly in the goals! But it’s holistic and I love that. I am still trying to figure out how I will juggle grad school and working full time when the time comes. Do you think that I can work as an RBT while attending OT school? The program I am looking at is always different scheduling wise, would RBT grant me flexibility?
My occupational therapist told my parents to have me listen to different tones via a headphone set in order to "desensitize me to noise." OT gave them a tape to play. Parents would crank up the volume and have me listen to it for hours as I screamed and cried. I am still sensitive to noise, but I have Complex PTSD and a number of other trauma disorders. It would be great if, in the future, you wouldn't do something like this.
I'd definitely be interested in a video more in detail about becoming a bcaba in florida. I'm currently a psych major at FIU and an RBT and I'm trying to figure some different options before taking the next steps in my aba journey.
Ahhh. I understand how you felt! I was recently hired by an agency and have yet to hear back from them after I submitted what they requested... ahhh, so frustrating!
My company didn’t go over intial training. I did my 40 hour and started working. It’s only my 3rd day but I feel kinda lost. I don’t really know what I’m doing.
Hey good morning ! Great video. If you have an Associates in Early Childhood Education , took the RBT exam and have experience working with autistic children? What is the pay range? If you are not sure how could I find out? Thank you in advance.
I’m just about to have an interview and so far all the things you said are good are present but I will make sure to ask the questions again to make sure this is my first real job I’m so nervous
The company that I just got hired with pays for training, than once in done with training I get a raise as a BT than than after complete Exam another raise the pay gas and note taking. They never said anything about being locked in with them probably because I have to pay for exam. But There reviews are ok praying all goes well
so I’m in the process of doing my 40 hour training, that the employer I recently accepted the offer from is paying for. I am almost done with it, and so far the company seems super supportive and nice! My only question is that they are asking me to submit all my paperwork before signing the contract. things like insurance, SSC, etc before the contract. Is this a normal thing? This is like the only company in my city for ABA therapy, and I’ve seen tons of good reviews after researching them online just not sure if that’s all normal? Thanks for the videos!(:
I'm struggling with an offer I got from an agency... my client would be 50 minutes away (35 miles) and they don't offer any mileage reimbursement when you aren't driving from one client to another. BUT adding nearly 7 hours to my week with no extra pay means I'm making quite a bit less hourly. I feel like gas prices are so high right now I should push to get them to agree to maybe kicking in for half the mileage? They DID offer one more dollar an hour but that equates to a very small amount. UGH.
More info, the job is 15hrs/week for $22/hr. (Originally $21 an hour before I asked about any possible mileage reimbursement). Gas is currently $3.37 a gallon in NH.
Not exactly.... I told them I felt something wasn't right, and I went to pick up all of my personal information I gave to them while filling out their forms. I also had them sign a paper saying they are not to use any of my information and that I was out of their system completely.
So i have a BA in psych, i am just becoming an RBT, just got a job and started the 40 hr training... now to become a BCaBC... do you need to have a certain amount of hours? Thanks!
@@ABASource I'm also interested in knowing more about this, already have a BA in child development, just started as a RBT ( still pending exam) but I'd like to eventually move up the levels ...what classes/training if any do I need? * looking forward to the video.
Hi Anna I have passed by RBT but it looks like I have to go inactive as i cant find a job. Is there anyway I can work for myself and get a supervisor. Or any ideas. Thanks
Question is it true that in 2022 the requirement as far as the type of degree you need will not matter as long as you do a certificate program with bcba coursework? Also I know in order to become a BCaBA you need a bachelors degree in any field with a certificate, but I went on the BACB website and the requirement for 2022 and it says that bachelors is needed but in parentheses it says this "You must have a bachelor’s degree (e.g., master’s or doctoral) from a qualifying institution" can you shed some light on this does that mean you have to have a masters in 2022 to become a BCaBA?
Thank you so much! Also I’m working a full time job do you recommend just working as RBT and going to school? I am so overwhelmed lol Did you a work a full time job and went to school?
Catherine McCottry I know many people who work full time as RBT and go to school. It’s definitely not easy and if you could avoid it you would be better off. But that’s not to say it’s impossible to do because many do It! For the last semester of my undergraduate degree was taking 6 classes and decided it would be best to only work part time. I’m glad I did.
