I used your videos to gain an understanding of what it was to become an RBT, and last week was my first day as an RBT. Thanks so much for your help :) I am Autistic myself and as someone who only got diagnosed last year at 24 years old, I can't wait to make a difference in my clients' lives
Sorry I’m seeing this just now! Congratulations, and welcome to the field. As an autistic joining the field, I hope you know you’re making the field a better place! Xoxox 🫶
I interviewed for and RBT position, the interview went very well, and I had all the qualifications and more, after the interview was over they said they would call me within the next two days, they sent me a email an hour later saying they found another candidate for the position. I believe they wasted my time, because I am sure they had already chosen who they wanted for the position before they even interviwed me, I thought that was very unprofessional, and I had never experienced that before.
Hey Anna, I just want to say I found your videos back in may/June and was so inspired by you! I went found a job did my 40hrs then the supervision hours, passed my comp and finally yesterday I passed the written test! Thank you so much I truly feel like iv found my calling! ❤
I have an interview for an rbt position in my town in a few days. I’d love prayers. I’ve worked as a sped school bus driver and a summer attendant before, and I’ve been working as a caregiver for an emotionally immature adult for two years. I don’t mean that in a negative way, but it’s something I’ve realized. I will try to stalk them and get interview refreshers because I feel rusty, and I can tell that I need a change. Worst case scenario my bf is okay with me quitting even if I don’t have a backup in place, but I’d rather intentionally apply to new positions knowing that one will most likely take a chance and train me to do something new.
I already failed the first step 😮 BUT they called late on a Friday afternoon and I called back on Monday and got an interview! Thanks for the info, this was very helpful!
One more thing, I think you are right about sketchy agencies...I found one whom their HR person only texts to communicate..and then also would say they would call and then not call when they said they would. But maybe you should do a video about all types of sketchy agencies or fraudulent ones..and what to look out for that would be helpful.
Hey there, Can you give me tips for my resume? I’m a RBT and trying to switch companies and struggling to create a compelling resume that doesn’t sound too by the book or like I copy and pasted? How can I make it seem I know my stuff without sounding too by the book and common?
Also, very very important..you mentioned the comp ass. test...okay to my knowledge we must have a BCBA to examine us who we are going to be employed with? Is that correct? If so, I'm not understanding..because..agencies will not employ you unless you are a certified RBT..right? So, how in the world are we to do this-if you can reply back as soon as you can I would appreciate that and when you have time you should do a video on that (no one talks about that part). I'm done with my 40hr training now what? Okay the comp test but how do I get to that part..whom ..where. Look forward to hearing from you thanks.
Hey Anna, I hope all is well… you should do a video regularly whenever BACB add publications to their website or update policies, rules, or procedures (ie come 2024 I believe VCS will not be allowed, all seeking certification must be by accredited university). Just my thoughts
Hi! I was wondering if you need a Bachelor's Degree to be an RBT? Does it depend on the state? I live in Virginia and it isn't required! I am wanting to be a Certified Child Life specialist but it requires strictly quite a bit in my personal opinion. School isn't my strong suit regarding my IEP. But, last May I received my A.A.S (Associate of Applied Science) degree in Human Services specializing in Early Childhood Education and a Career Studies Certificate in Early Childhood development!! I'm almost 21 and have thought about continuing my education but, Biology has burnt me out so much and makes me question if I wanna go on. Although, I have the degree to be a Child life assistant! I got a long ways ahead of me hahaha but I love working with kids so much! Your videos are incredible! Thanks for all you do!
Hi Molly! Thank you for watching! No you or not need a BA. All states are the same! Please watch my “how to become a RBT video for alllll the details! 💗
Good job you are doing. I have also revived my TH-cam channel to talk about helping special needs kids and also being a RBT. Would like your support and encouraging words on how to go about it. Looking forward to your kind response.

I’ve noticed with interviews if they say they will call you later it usually means you don’t have the job.
same

How would you do a resume where there is no rbt experience whatsoever? What's your advice?
Hey there,

How can I make it seem I know my stuff without sounding too by the book and common?
Do you go to your clients in regular clothes or scrubs? is it ok wear scrubs? I ask because I love scrubs.
Scrubs 👍
