For a matchup i don’t like as link, Kyon did very well
Suirtle is the best of the three vs swordies, thus him going so deep in percentages
He is the best of the 3 , and not all the swordie i will said. Seph is kinda annoying, prefer play Charizard and secure the kill, but every PT dont play the same, it s really depend of the lvl of expertise on the trio
Noi's Squirtle is so satisfying to watch, makes me wanna main a character I would be absolute garbage at.
I don't know where pros get the idea that Link is a top tier character. He's mid at best. This MU shows all the qualifications of an top tier character MUST have, and Link has like maybe 1 of those. No he's not a sleeper either. In no world does a top tier need to mash B reverses, Z drops and other utility moves just for a 3 hit combo. Whereas characters like Wolf, Palu, squirtle... Etc can just mash on you with Nair or Forward Air for the first 0-40%

Link Recovery is mid/bottom tier, depending on who you ask. PT is a high tier just like Link, but overall this is a terrible matchup for Link.

Ong, don’t Iisten to the other ppl replying. Every N64 char returns to the new smash game with 90% of the same move set; they couldn’t even represent BOTW as well as they could’ve.
I wonder how Kyon would’ve done if the clawshot was never removed & his upB was different for once. Like at least do something about the lag on stage sakurai

Unfortunately he does, Link gets ez dumped offstage by ivy.

He could have bomb recovered more.
I think he's not to great with mixing up his recovery. For example, as soon as he got out in disadvantage Noi switched to Ivy. That's when he could have snapped ledge with Up B. He could have even drifted it over ledge cuz Ivy would have to respect the range.
Once he chose to DJ Bombpull FF he locked himself into low recovery which is Links weakest position since overhead is the most vulnerable spot for UpB. Even then and this is why I say he isn't too good with it. He could have bomb recovered toward the middle then mixed from there, followed through with drift and went to the other ledge, or bomb recover away from stage but control drift so he goes straight up and used B Reverses/Turnarounds to change directions.
With that said his neutral and advantage is some of the best I've seen from competitive Links from a piloting aspect. Just missing some of Links get off me/you can't go here/pick your poison tech.
