Michael Keaton trained Taylor Kitsch(Ghost) and probably was one of the best which is why Keaton said 'ive seen off the charts before.' Ghost probably got captured and was tortured and now wants to everyone to pay for leaving him. Dylan is the new best guy and stops Ghost. Gist of the story.
I don't think the book's plotline would work as a movie. Maybe a TV series. After reading the book, I'm not really looking forward to this movie anymore...

I wonder which book in the series this is supposed to be modeled after? Ive read the prequel, which is also called American Assassin, but it is nothing like this. It must take elements from the prequel and another book and mix them together in some way, because this is definitely not modeled after the American Assassin.
This is a large series of Books similar to the Bourne Identity's, so I hope it does well, so that they can continue them. American assassin isn't the first book published, but it is the first book chronologically story wise.

After seeing this trailer I'm left to wonder if Vince Flynn would have approved of the inconsistent storyline? Mitch Rapp did not test off the charts when it came to the Beretta 92FS. He'd never handled a firearm until he arrived at "The Farm." Michael Keaton is too easy going and soft spoken to be Stan Hurley. If someone is twice "knee capped" and palms ventilated with a 9mm because they're too dangerous to transport within a locked crate inside the cargo bay of a plane then I'll at least give the movie 1thumb up.... RIP Mr. Flynn
Why give us a movie if they are just going to tell everything in the trailer. Hollywood needs to stop giving trailers that show everything that is going to happen in the movie :/
