Will the sprinklers turn on manually if the solenoid is bad? I have a new b hyve. I have 2 wires for our zones. One is a blue + white com wire & the 2nd has red, yellow, green + a white com wire. The blue zone won’t work but the others do. It will turn on manually but not with the app.
How do i find the right valve. I have a zone not working and its on the other side of the sidewalk they put drip line there so i pulled some out no water when i turned on. I went to 3 valves to try manually turn on but nothing is happening no water sound or water or anything. All other zones work just fine.. What does that mean? Thanks
James - Rainbird 200PESB scrubber valve that supplies water to a pond. Will open with bleeder screw, but not by rotating the solenoid. Replaced bonnet and diaphragm - but still same problem. Port from solenoid to bonnet is clear. ...... not sure beyond that. Any suggestions ?
my rain bird sprinkler system's zone 8's sprinkler 6 heads are not spraying, no pressure to push the heads up, but I can see the water flowing out of sprinkler head. at the mean time, the sprinkler box/valve in the ground start to filled/ flood with water. what could be the problem? thanks for your help
I have a sprinkler zone that will not come on. However when I open the valve with the Solenoid I can crack it open and then I can turn the Sprinkler OFF with the Wireless remote. Probably the Solenoid right?
If the sprinkler zone was previously working ok, Could have failing solenoid that is not opening fully, you can measure the resistance of the two wires to the zone at the solenoid valve body and compare to another good working zone valve. Alternatively you can measure at the inside control unit by measuring the common input and the zone itself, just compare results with another known good known zone valve. There is normally a manual valve release at the zone valve, if you manually open up and you get full pressure to the zone…more than likely it is the solenoid. Also measure the Voltage to the zone and compare the voltage to the other zones, may be swap with another zone. Observe results, bad control units normally you will have zero voltage and the zone won’t operate. Lastly there may be an obstruction in the zone valve with debris or may be an actual cut in the irrigation line from the zone valve to the sprinklers itself.
@@rileypup5959 I have three sprinkler zones in my front lawn and in zone 1, they only pop up half way with little to no pressure. Zones two and three are working normally.... I may end up replacing my zone 1 anti-siphon valve over the holiday.... Thanx for the info....
So i cleaned and reconnected dirty wires, nothing, replaced solenoid, nothing. Whats the next step? All other zones work but 1. And it will come on if i turn the solenoid.
If it turns on manually, that doesn't sound like the solenoid problem. It's probably the system sprinkler controller itself. If you had the sprinkler controller for a while, I would recommended replacing it.
Universal in concept but the zone valves are generally proprietary in design. Some solenoid valves are interchangeable and some are unique. You can measure the resistance at the control unit to verify the wiring and solenoid. With the system off, Measure from the common wire/lug to the zone lug itself and compare with another known working zone. If you get zero resistance than you may have an open or cut wire or just loose connection at the zone valve.
Straight to the point. Great sound. No dumb ass background like traffic or leaf blower.
Installed my raibird 9 years ago and the first solenoid let go today, you helped fix it. THanks
Sir u have saved me an enormous headache... thank you so much 🙏💯💪✌️
Great video...Except I have no idea where the cables are connected or de-pressure the system, But thank you.

My zones disappeared from my controller. It does not even show up. Any idea what happened?

I have the same problem. I replaced the solenoid, i have power but half of my backyard sprinklers are not working. Help
You got to find the broken pipe
Where or how would I find my VALVE box? I have looked everywhere but couldn’t find anything. Many thanks from south Florida.
simple and to the point thanks!

Great video! Thanks...IF selenoid ok...how do you then troubleshoot low preassure on 1 line...rest of system running fine...
That is exactly the same problem I am having, low sprinkler pressure in 1 zone.......hummmmm
James Irby
me too

my Orbit timer for auto and manual is running but not watering, anyone know any tips and tricks?
how to de-pressure the system? would u please show us? thanks

mine won't turn on when I program it to start at a certain time, but turn on when I do them manually. Any thoughts?

I think this is the problem with mine. I have a zone that won't operate. Are the valves proprietary to the system or are they more universal?

You don't need to turn the main line off just throttle down the valve simple
could u pls show it step by step on the real thing? thanks
