I love my Greenspeed Magnum XL! It's like riding a lawn chair! As I've gotten older, and could no longer ride an upright bike, the trike has returned a level of freedom to enjoy the outdoors that I thought I'd lost forever. I sure hope I'll enjoy mine ten years on as much as you're enjoying yours!

I appreciate my recumbent trike more as I get older. I added a mirror & air horn (a necessity here in Australia) Thank you for sharing 👍

Nothing makes me want to ride like my trike. It’s just fun. I have a non-folding Gekko and an ICE Sprint Tour with rear suspension. Cheers from Modena!

There are TWO dangers with these trikes from HP Velotechnik:
    1. When you stand behind a parking lot and an SUV wants to back out of it, it will run over you because you are not seen at all !
    2. When you slip down from the pedals at high speed, your feet can get totally crushed by the Y-shaped frame when they are pushed under the frame ! But you can buy pedal cages from HP for stupid money to avoid that.
Other than that this trike is my favorite recumbent bike (with full suspension => Scorpion FS20). I´d recommend a Rohloff hub and a 250W BBS01 motor with mechanical brakes so that you can shift under no-load by tapping the bafang brake lever with sensor. Premium seat is also a must when you pay already 10K ;_)

I bought a 2011? Terratrike Path 3 speed , did some work to it and it is now 18 speeds but geared for 9 very low gears and 9 road gears .Much like a 4x4 where you have a low range and a high range. I find the 500 buck trike far more stable than I thought it would be and with the tires pumped up hard it is a fast trike . I think the feeling of speed is enhanced by being 8" off the pavement. No flag on mine as I am NEVER in traffic . The other day I was in my bike lane next to the 9" curb separating the bike lane from the car lane and I looked up at the underside of the sports car mirror. That is why I am NEVER in traffic lanes. Buy used so you get to know what you like and want to have if you need to upgrade. Also what is not stated in the video is you need foot retention on your pedals as when your foot slips off the pedal you can run over said foot and that messes your life up for a long time . I ride clipped in and it took a while to get used to the indirect steering but I can now get into the higher cadence I am used to. For in town riding I have my Bacchetta Giro A20 touring recumbent also an 18 speed no longer the stock 27 speed.

I have a Dutch Challenge Trike for over 20 years. I don't worry about a helmet or a flag. If I hit something, I'll hit it with my feet. And drivers can see the stripes on the pavement which are much lower than I am.

Nice bike and nice country. Looks like the recumbent position maybe doesn't work the abdominal muscles as much as a traditional bike would? 😉

Get a large pet trailer and shop all you want. Also, you can take your pet on rides.
I have a Worksman PAV3 low rider which is a delta trike, which is a lot more -terrifying- exciting.

I own a high racer recumbent bike (Dutch "Challenge Seiran"). Plain fun on plains. Not so fun uphill.

Hills are kind of a pain but I'm seriously considering upgrading the trike to electric, all my other bikes are electric and hills are no sweat then
