    I don't get it.. So every bmw has heated steering wheel all you have to do buy a trim with button and code it ? 😐😐

    • @WhiteRoseDrives
      @WhiteRoseDrives  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not every one, no. See the original thread on Bimmerpost, linked here in the description. If it has lane departure warning, then it most likely has the heating element and electronics. Keeps manufacturing simpler eh?

    Thanks for the video, although I didn’t need to remove the steering wheel myself to do it, it was good to see the whole process to understand it fully before tackling it myself, cheers 👍

    Hi not too sure how clued up you are about this but ive done the coding for my F20 M140i and for some reason whenever im starting the car up it says “battery discharge whilst station” is it possible ive got wrong somewhere with the coding? It works perfectly as well

      TBH, not that clued up 😂 I was lucky in that I just followed the forum post, and everything worked as expected. If you’re having issues I really recommend dropping in on the Bimmerpost thread - there are lots of experienced folks there who may be able to offer advice and pointers 😃

    Can you still get this if you don’t have lane departure?

    Hi mate!Thanks for your video, its relly helped me! I would to buy this trim my self, could you please tell me where you bought it? Do you know the part number of this trim. Thanks!

    • @WhiteRoseDrives
      @WhiteRoseDrives  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Would you believe, the cheapest place I found for the trim + switch was my local BMW dealer here in the UK. The parts were available from lots of folks on ebay too though, so always worth looking there 👍

    Is this possible if there is no lane assist module? Or is it possible to get the bottom unit with the button + a heated steering wheel. A friend has a spare one laying around.

    • @WhiteRoseDrives
      @WhiteRoseDrives  ปีที่แล้ว

      To be honest, I don’t know. Check the thread on Bimmerpost? You can also look in the wheel - the module and heater elements are visible. That’s discussed in the Bimmerpost thread too 👍

    Hi
    first of all many thanks to you
    secondly have you changed your bottom piece of your wheel for put the heat button ?

    • @WhiteRoseDrives
      @WhiteRoseDrives  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! No, the wheel is what was already there. If you have lane change warning you probably already have the heating elements. You can tell by looking for wires going down the bottom “arm”. Follow the link in the description to the original bimmerpost article 👍

    First of all, You need to have a steering wheel with heating element and also heating ecu for that. Also SZL if will be stock, it does not have extra connection for that ecu. Weird, that these things are not mentioned..

    • @WhiteRoseDrives
      @WhiteRoseDrives  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check the description for the original forum thread, where the prerequisites are discussed 👍

    • @Oockeshoek
      @Oockeshoek 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      What is the heating ECU according to you? If I buy heated wheel, cowl + SZL will it not work? I'm looking to buy a new SZL anyway when retrofitting KAFAS2 in the future

    • @Rimlax123
      @Rimlax123 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Oockeshoek SZL needs to have contact in it for heated and/or vibro steering wheel. I retrofitted myself KAFAS2 and vibro steering wheel in one go. KAFAS2 and SZL does have anything in common.

    • @Oockeshoek
      @Oockeshoek 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Rimlax123 okay so if I get SZL (vibro or heated) + Vibro/heated wheel I can have heated wheel right? Then I add KAFAS2 in future with all cables etc. I can activate lane departure.

    • @Rimlax123
      @Rimlax123 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Oockeshoek Yes, but I also find another issue when installed mine. I used my previous wheel, just put into it vibro wheel and ecu for it. My steering wheel does not cable for power supply to vibro ecu, so I need to order new wires and install it into the wheel. It was prety similar as old one, just had one extra cable for vibro ecu. But If You arleady pick wheel which has vibro or heated function then You will not catch this problem.

  • @ASSK555
    @ASSK555 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    There’s no need to remove the steering wheel. You can just remove the housing with brut force. The housing isn’t connected to the steering wheel. I’ve also made the cable myself, 3 wires are needed, a dupont set is a must.
