My mate works for a company that leases Volkswagen transporter. Just took it for a service comes out engine light on and regen light. Stops rings leasing company they send Volkswagen out. They come to check lo and behold over too much engine oil!
if you don't use the AC during winter time because you think it's only for summer the shaft seal gets dry and the gas will leak out past the seal when the AC is working the seal gets wet and helps stop the gas leaking past it .
That is the normal for the Coolant temp on Civic's, they all sit below the half during normal operation Jimmy. Im not saying your wrong about oil levels but my Gen 10 civic regens fine with a max oil on the dipstick.
Some of the pin holes in AC pipes I’ve seen, I’m not sure you’d see smoke. Best thing to do is pressure test them. There will be a leak somewhere in that ac system.
Jimmy I'm looking to buy a small 3 seater van, Citroen, Ford what would you prefer ??? I have a caddy but I'd like another one, but it doesn't have 3 seats . Thanks Jimmy love your channel ☘️☘️
sparks could mean the coil is knackered which pulls the clutch in to drive the AC pump you can replace the coil jimmy will probably be cheaper than a new pump
Hi Jimmy, I hope you’ll reply to this unique situation. I have a Toyota Proace 1.5 (2019) with P20EE fault code and adblue light. adblue injector is clean. My Launch diagnostic tool extracts this live data: - Denox catalytic converter urea load: 0 gram - Operating status of the demos system: Urea gauge-pump module stopped. - PRESSURE OF THE UREA FLUID: 0.5 bar - Urea gauge-pump module operating status: on standby. What would you conclude? especially seeing this odd value of 0.5 bar for the pressure sensor? I read that normally the lowest value is 4 bars. I read elsewhere online that such pressure sensors are available on Alibaba. Do u think replacing it would cure the issue?
I have a Honda accord since 2015 and the air con has never worked, but I’ve never had dpf issues until recently. I’ve changed an oil pressure sensor and cleaned the dpf a few times, the car has 200k miles on it now, would you think it could be a damaged dpf or does the air con need to be recharged

Hey jimmy. Ive got a fiesta with a 1.6 duratorq diesel. Same as peugeot, citreon, volvo, mazda. Ive got a shakey engine. Ive checked everything but the pcv. Would a pcv stuck shut or open cause enough imbalance to make the engine kinda vibrate?
@ORileysAutos 😂😂😂 only needs AC to work to do forced regen. They don't use it for active regeneration and this dpf was not blocked because the AC didn't work 😂😂😂
what is the link between the AC system and the dpf, is it just a totally random requirement to automatically regen the dpf or is there actually some link

Issue with Renault Trafic 3 - Smoke in Engine Oil with Oil Level Warning I have an ongoing issue with my Renault Trafic 3. I have properly cleaned the exhaust system (DPF), checked the injectors and oil sensor, but the problem persists. Even though I recently changed the engine oil, the engine is still emitting smoke in the engine oil, and the diagnostic tool shows a warning related to oil level reduction. I’ve visited several workshops, but unfortunately, none of them have been able to pinpoint the exact cause of the problem. Details: • The exhaust system (DPF) was cleaned properly. • The injectors and oil sensor were checked. • Engine oil was recently changed, but the smoke in the engine persists. • The diagnostic tool shows warnings about oil level reduction. What I need: I need assistance in identifying the main cause of this issue, as I have tried several solutions, and the technicians have not been able to diagnose the problem accurately. If there is any issue with the engine system or any component that hasn’t been thoroughly checked, I would appreciate guidance on the next steps or parts that might need a detailed inspection.
@@Roosko.1 you won’t really notice any difference, the pedal is a bit slower to react and you get the green eco lights around the speedo, thats about it.

Go to know ref Hondas need working air con for dpf regens. Thanks for sharing.

Another great job, Jimmy! Crazy, the requirement of having the AC on, to start a regen.
Yet another great tip from Jimmy. Keep it up Jimmy you’ve taught me everything I know about dpf scr systems so far can’t thank you enough 👍👍
Always learning from you Jimmy 👍

Why does the ac pump need to work to do a regen?
I'm guessing that it's a specific honda programing
maybe because the fans are on giving an airflow over the manicat & dpf
Add load to the engine to aid with heat etc. Got to be other reasons too

Even if it doesn't work I believe it has to have ac pressure
No oil reset or ecu reset if oil reset not available.
0:36 that’s normal operating temp. It will show that level from about 60c.
But those civics and engines are useless at keeping warm in winter

coolant level 1/3 rd up is normal on Hondas
So the car won't regen unless the AC is working? Is this the case when it's not being set to do a forced regen and on a daily drive?
Does ac have to be on all the time? Every time you drive ?
The ecu should engage the AC when needed
@ORileysAutos 😂😂😂 only needs AC to work to do forced regen. They don't use it for active regeneration and this dpf was not blocked because the AC didn't work 😂😂😂

According to the scan tool it says honda require the extra drag on the engine. Also it engages the fans
that’s interesting thank you for replying bro (idk why im on a different account now)
Is Isuzu derived engine yes?
Honda’s own n16 engine
Earlier Civics with the 1.7 diesel used an Isuzu engine
Great work Jimmy,
Question for you, I own a 2016 vivaro, would you recommend the "think diagnostics" for that van?
Yes it works great on it. I'll make some videos soon
how often does the honda i-dtec regen?
Mine does an active regen about every 500miles (mainly urban)

the only time the temp gauge goes higher on them civics is city driving
The engine temp always sits there on Honda civics
I have 2 of these civics great cars in general the owner should turn the econ off it makes absolutely no difference in mpg.
Most pointless feature ever, makes the cruise control struggle at the first hill it gets to, and almost turns the AC off
What about using it driving around on main roads? I have just brought a civic so would love to know please

even if it doesn't make a difference, try driving in the 'green'. it will help you unlearn the heavy foot accelerating, which does affect mpg
