    Hi thanks for the comprehensive explanations. What’s the difference between person in the environment theory and ecological theory? Txs

    • @AnnaBea
      @AnnaBea  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! They work together super closely. The Ecological Systems Theory itself just states how a person interacts with their "systems" and the Person-in-Environment is a specific approach for practitioners towards an individual. You really couldn't have person-in-environment without ecological systems, but person-in-environment also incorporates some biopsychosocial elements and some strengths-based perspective elements. Honestly, as I talked about application through this video, that started to be more person-in-environment just without naming it. They're super similar though!

    Thanks for the video. It explained things clearly. Would you mind answering a question for clarification, though?
    - Would a child getting a scholarship because they are from a refugee background be conceded an example of part of the microsystem or is it just concerned with the negative?

    • @AnnaBea
      @AnnaBea  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure I completely understand your question, but my initial thought would be that a child's refugee status could be a part of their microsystem if a large part of their own personal identity is tied with being a refugee. However, I would more think of a refugee status being influenced heavily by the macrosystem considering the government's involvement with granting refugees asylum + the societal cause/issue that pushes an individual out of their home country.
