If you have the opportunity you should watch their live concert Lunario CDMX. It is an amazing concert where they play the full album live with some other songs from XXIst Century Blood thrown in the mix.
Great that you did reaction to entire album instead of cutting it up I will certainly watch and I am sure some would have preffered you did a reaction to entire Lunario performance or at least have the lyrics pulled up but I am ok with just a vibe out reaction to the studio recording ...

They wanted it to be up to each person on how they see the story in their own minds. That's why I consider this one of the best concept albums I've ever heard! A genius piece of musical art and story concept. Created AT ANY AGE!!!

I bought tickets to see them open for Three Days Grace in Vancouver. Unusually, they chose to open their Canadian tour with Dust to Dust, rather than the usual “Z”. Most of the TDG crowd was unfamiliar with The Warning. After Dany’s soaring close to their first song, the “holy crap” amazement amongst the TDG fans was awesome to see/hear.
New to the band, and Dust To Dust live was the second song of theirs I heard, and I was immediately sold. Watching Pau sing like that while beating her drums with such conviction, I was already done. Resistance was futile. It was at that moment that I joined her cult.
Yup, you've just listened the album as it should, in a row. This album will in time be among the best 25 concept albums. Dust to Dust is the prologue where we are at the funeral of the character looking back and get are getting invited to the story from the start. This song was released first. Then TW released 4 chapter of each 3 songs with around 3 weeks in between the chapters. The last chapter was released the same day as their release concert at Lunario CDMX on Nov 25, 2018. Chapter #1: We learn to know the character and her unanswered love for the object - Crimson Queen - Ugh - The One Chapter #2: The object of her love is taken off and some immediate reflections - Stalker - Red Hands Never Fade - Sacrifice Chapter 3: Crimson Queen debates in between her two personalities - Sinister Smile - Dull Knives - Queen of the Murder Scene Chapter #4: The resolution of her personalities and The End - P. S.Y.C.H.O.T.I.C. - Hunter -The End
The album is about her mind spiraling out of control; delusions, dead emotions, intrusive thoughts, hallucinations, s e 1 f h a r m, s u 1 c 1 d e. She's P.S.Y.C.H.O.T.I.C. Half the album is her own insane mind talking to another part of her sane mind, telling her to give in and BREAK APART. Her psychosis wins in the end.
Nice Job! One of the great things about this album is that it is vague enough for the listener to draw their own conclusions. However, it is actually about a girl who is love with a guy that doesn't know she exists. Dust to Dust is a Prologue and is set at a funeral (a bit of foreshadowing, perhaps?). The Spanish guy in the middle is actually Rudy, their Manager, playing the part of "The Preacher". The first chapter is her obsession building. In Stalker, now she has him trapped. By the end of the song, she is singing over a corpse. The rest of the album is her inner monologue of her struggle between her good and evil sides. Hunter is sung by The Grim Reaper, who is after the queen to regain his title and throne, that the Queen took away. That's the basics anyway. There is a lot of imagery and feelings and passion in the songs and the lyrics. The more you hear it, the more you pick up on, just like the Killers album you were talking about. Also, as you listen, favorite songs change. Lastly, I don't even listen to the studio album anymore even though I have the Vinyl and CD. The live versions are SO MUCH BETTER. The Energy, the passion are off the scale when they perform it live. Dany becomes The Queen. To think that this album came out when Dany was only 18, Pau was 16 and Ale was 13, still blows my mind. And to see them do it live, you understand each song so much more! It's a masterpiece album done by Future Legends!!
They had so much trouble with this song. "UGH, this song again". They just couldn't get it done. There are several versions. One I think, became "One". I wonder if Ale plays the piano in the studio. They say she is the best piano player and is a human metronome. Although on stage Pau and Dany play on this album. I thick Dany had to sing acapella on "Crimson Queen" at a concert. They left her acoustic internal pick up Amp on after the sound check. It ran down before the concert.

@@garyblair3033 It was the public debut of the album. Patreons had heard songs before they were public. I’m not sure where you’re reading that they only played 9 QOTMS songs. They play the entire album as well as songs from XX1st Century Blood. I’ve watched this concert a dozen times or more.
I think I understand now. It isn’t that they only played 9, it’s that they released 9 of the 13 songs for the first time during this concert. Prior to this there were just snippets released.

You look at bands who have done concept albums like Iron Maiden. It took them many yrs before they did Seventh Son, which is great! But The Warning did theirs on a shoestring budget, 2nd album out of the gate. It's 1 of the best I've heard. Period. Ugh almost got cut from the album because they had so much trouble with it. It was rewritten many times according to Pau and Ale. In concert, there is no piano ending. Stalker is actually my fav off the album, followed by Dull Knives. As far as being critical, I've got zero issue with it. In fact, though a pivotal point in the story, The Sacrifice is as a song, is just ok IMO, not bad, but not fantastic. Sinister Smiles is really different, as we hear Dani and Pau duallying with Ale singing falsetto, giving us a taste of her vocal range. The track QOTMS is IMO their hardest song on the album and they are incredible live. Pau's double bass kick coupled with Ale's bassline that seems everywhere at once, is very enhanced, something that is missing from the recording. Also, Dani sings it live with a ton of aggression, and we get a rare solo to boot. Hunter is another pivotal part of the album, but again, IMO as a stand alone song, to me it's just ok. I like it, but don't love it. The End is in contrast a masterpiece, with Pau telling you to 'play it again Sam' ;) Thx for ur reaction!
The best QOTMS concept album of the last decades, its hard and dark themes, its themes are brilliant, great riffs and excellent solos and the interpretation of Dany with her powerful voice and Pau with his hoarse and melancholic voice, Ale and his great lines of bass, an album that is a masterpiece
Ale is the high voice. They read listen to other kinds of music and the news. During the summer Ale sang Red Hands and with Three Days Grace she did Hunter in November. Dany is underrated as a guitarist.
People like Lzzy Hale and Matt Bellamy recognize her talent as a guitarist. Obviously TDG also recognized her vocals... Pretty good endorsements as far as I am concerned. Also, one of the put downs is because she doesn't normally show off with a guitar solo. But, as with Atlas Rise as an encore after a 2 hour show it is apparent that she is perfectly capable of doing it if a song calls for it.
As most of us have mentioned, the LIVE version is eons better than the album version. Even the girls themselves have stated that they weren't happy with the recording. The album lacks their energy that is evident on the live performance. Watching the Lunario performance is a rite of passage that every Warning fan needs to experience, it's akin to watching MJ go through the Celtics and score 63 in the playoffs.

A kickass concept album. Conceived, written, and performed when they were 18, 16, 13 yrs old.
