I relaxed my hair so it was more manageable to do my regular “natural” hairstyles like braids and twists etc. Then I realised that relaxed hair is best when it’s not pulled into a long term protective style, I’m going to start straightening my hair so that there’s less manipulation and actually embrace what it’s like to TRULY have relaxed hair. Can’t be treating it like it’s natural no more 😂
Ur hair has grown so much sticking to ur routine, i just watched an old video of urs. Love ur tips and tricks u have changed my straight natural journey in the best ways! ❤
@@ameliaokiyi6629 girl rollersets are how exclusively do my hair as of late. It always comes out bomb. I flat iron the roots when I’m done and wrap and it’s bouncy curls for two weeks! Even protective styles, I’ll sit under the drier either way rollers for 30 min then blow dry the rest of the way.
I relaxed my hair to enjoy my hair and I love that you do that! (Only two weeks in relaxed since 10+ years natural) I desire retention and health and lewks and I like your approach to your hair… trust after being so strict with my natural hair (and still ending up with years of damage from misinformation) I’m NOT here to be afraid of anything including heat 💁🏾♀️. I’ll be getting the guide soon❤
same. relaxed my hair around august this year after 8 years of being natural and i have been following her routine and bought some hair products from her amazon storefront and i have been loving my hair lately!
Girl this is literally about to be me! I'm about to relax my hair after 9 years of being natural and I'm so nervous but I want to go back to enjoying my hair. I don't enjoy the ride anymore and I know people will try to guilt-trip me for that but oh well!
Thank you so much for this! As someone with fine strands and medium density, the flatiron is not really my friend. It’s giving you can see my thoughts 🥴 as a result, I’ve been roller setting my hair to dry & straighten it. It gives me MAX volume & shine, even after wrapping and it saves the integrity of my hair because I’m not using direct heat every week. I hit my roots with the flatiron, after taking the rollers out, at a low heat and go on about my business. I do plan to try oiling my hair the night before wash day & see how that goes. After being natural & team no butters or oils, I’m using caution reintroducing it back into my routine. Thank you again!
Hey, love your videos. I'm 1 of those girls that don't flat iron my relaxed hair. I do a Dominican roller set, pin curl with moroccan oil at night, and it's bouncing and behaving. With the right products, of course. I have fine hair. Heat tools thin it out.
I was relaxed for many years and did not blow dry or flat iron my hair. I only did roller wraps aka a doobie. I never saw the purpose of relaxing my hair to be straight and then frying it to get it even straighter. My hair never required all of that.
@NiaraAlexis My name is Kathryn, and I really need your help. Please help me advice me on to make my hair grow so much longer with the relaxed hair and completely prevent breakage. Lists me the things and the techniques that I should do and not do. May I try your technique methods? Could you please help me? I really need your help.
@@NiaraAlexisHiya what products do you use? Can you please lists your hair products over to me for me to use because I also have a very dry scalp and I would like my hair to stay thicker, longer and healthier. Please if you can help me?
Growing up my hair dresser would do that but my hair would get frizzy by like day 5/6 flat ironing helped a ton for the longevity. I was also VERY active and my hair can still get wavy/curly even after YEARS of relaxing using salon products.
That Verb oil works great for my hair & that Paul Mitchell flexible hold spray. One thing I’ve learned over the years is everything isn’t for everybody. Some things are just for relaxed hair. I’ve been natural for only eight months, but I’m definitely going back to my relaxer in April. It’s been a challenge! Relax, blow dry & flat iron for sure. Happy New Year 🎊 🎉
I did the hair oiling the night before with the mielle and I added some blue magic as well because my hair was super dry and after I washed my hair omg after I washed my hair the quality was different and I didn’t have to add that many products after my wash
Straight natural here. Just discovered you and I loooove how you're honest about the fact that relaxers DO in fact damage, but you give the permed girlies ways to mitigate the damage. I love the honesty and feel like I can trust you so I subscribed. I'm surprised you didn't mention Aphogee tho.
I relax my hair just so it’s more manageable and comfortable. I feel like I have so many more hairstyles I can do with relaxed hair. I never blow dry it and I only straighten it a few times a year for special events or vacations. Other than that I mainly do twist outs. 😁😁
My hair is natural but just watching this video randomly. Kristin Ess weightless leave in is beyond words if you have fine hair. I can't speak for any other type. and yes lux comes to mind with her products.
I'm natural but I wear my hair straight 90% of the time. That Kristin Ess dry shampoo did nothing for my natural oils 😭 It smelled so good but I had to return it. Only the Batiste dry shampoo has worked for me.
Hi Niara! Would you use the Kristin Ess in place of the Taraji Leave in? Or could you use both? Taraji and then the Kristin Ess leave in/ heat protectant?
Silicones are good for your hair. Watch a video by the “Blowout Professor” on TH-cam on how to properly shampoo your hair and what the right products to not weigh it down
This was so helpful! Can you make a video for the low maintenance girlies that want to do the bare minimum and use the least number of products in a week? 🥲 I need explicitly, do this on day 1, 2, 3 etc with these 3 main products 😅
One of my favorite relaxed hair girlies. Love the consistency and products
❤️❤️❤️

It has!
I feel like there needs to be classes on how to do roller sets. It’s a lost art

As a hairstylist and relaxer girlie coming from 5 years natural……. I rollerset my relaxed hair like I used to in hair school ❤️
Amazing video! Thank you so much for sharing, I feel a lot more confident moving forward with caring for my hair
I’m about to go for it😮💨
I did it today and I'm in love !
I love the fact you have your tried and true products. There are quite a few I've tried and loved because of you. TFS ❤
I sat here and watched you for the full video. You're so entertaining and informative thank you girl ❤

I would use one or the other! 🤎
Do you like the Verb hair oil or the Olaplex hair oil better? Or do you think they're about the same?
Verb will always be my go to. But olaplex is equally as nice. A bit lighter too in consistency
I’m the relaxed girl who rarely straightens my hair. I just wash, roll, hair dry and pin curl it 👀.
Thanks for sharing!!
I want to start using rollers too.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Great info on the products!
What’s your favorite hair dryer Niara?
The Dyson supersonic!
I think you are first black person I have ever seen that says they use dry shampoo. Interesting. I never considered it.

I think some people are heavy handed because their hair is dry
Not really.Am heavy handed on everything even cooking stuff. My 400ml wash gel lasts max 3wks.Is a struggle.

Me too! No joke I don't go hardly anywhere so I need low maintenance techniques.
I just posted a video on low manipulation styles!
