Peril's flowers are vibrant and on fire, she's full of life and defies what would otherwise kill her (in this case instead of the fire killing her, it'd be her situation of only being a child yet mad to fight every day of her life) kestrels flowers are unique and varied--she's a normal dragon with a tragic past, she holds onto and keeps close the one flower that she shares with and is made to resemble her daughter, she is the leader ("king") of her past and the only one who will determine her own future, it only falls off once her life comes to an end. She can put down her crown and flowers, the things she let define her, because she's finally fulfilled her life purpose, she's reunited with her daughter and does as much as she can within her power to protect her, even if not explicitly stated. I believe that her treatment of the dragonets, while definitely abusive, was intended to build them up to become strong and not the helpless dragonet that Peril was or what Kestrel was when she couldn't save her duaghter. The constant element of flowers in general is meant to ressenber the growht in each of the characters, how their situation changed them and allows them to grow although their colour stays the same and presents the idea that they are stuck with their origin, their tribe, in kestrel's case, her past, something that is inescapable yet should not define you. Its easy to destroy a flower but with the dragons around them that are willing to protect their loved ones, they are each given a chance to flourish into something new and beautiful until their death, although it's not explicitly stated, I'd like that to be the undertone of the video. But she, unlike others who would abandon their kin, disobeyed the law and hid in desperation to save her children. When she was found, her cruel queen demanded her to kill one if she wanted to save the other. And after that, she went against her word and ordered the other to die as well. So she flew off with her other child, even though she knew that she would be exiled from her kingdom forever. But the universe’s cruel actions resulted in her dropping her last child against her will, giving her no choice but to run away with no family to carry with her. And just like that, she had nothing. No tribe and no family, and she didn’t do anything to deserve it. And it doesn’t even end there. She joined the Talons Of Peace and was chosen to raise Dragonets of Destiny so that way she can have another chance of being a parent. But the SkyWing egg was destroyed, and Kestrel was forever doomed to a life of raising dragons from other tribes hidden underground. uve definitely thought about this a lot, so what do think: (u have to have read Dragonslayer) did Kestrel let Sky go in an attempt to save him, or did she fully intend to kill him but didn't succeed? I dont have any friends who read WoF, so I have to get answers online.
@@sof27 Kestrel 100% tried to fake his death and get him later. You can tell in her scream of rage when she couldn’t find him. Her initial plan was to leave with both her children.
I like how that flowers give Kestrel kind of kinder look, but she's still scary ;) I also really like Kestrel, because I think she didn't deserve all the things that happened to her, she deserved a better life.
Honestly yeah, she was loyal to her queen and served her well. And how does her queen repay her? She forces her to breed with a rando and when she has dragonets she forces her to kill them. Ofc she declines and it leads to her being exiled from her loved ones and tribe making her believing her children died. Then when she finally meets the dragonet she carried the guilt of thinking she killed she is brutally murdered for believing that the dragonets were in danger

The NightWing; Morrowseer, and the SandWing; Blister, were speaking with each other, of course hatching their evil plans. Kestrel roared over the wind, but they ignored her, finally, Blister said one thing Kestrel could catch, "And her? This is the trouble?" "Yes," she roared. "Why am I here? Morrowseer, you said the dragonets were in danger." "And you came running" he said. "Well, of course they're in danger. More than they know. But you're really here because you failed me." Kestrel blinked, taking a step back, she glared at Morrowseer. "I failed YOU?" she growled, "I work for the Talons of Peace, not the NightWings. They can talk to me if they've got complaints. I kept those brats alive, like I was supposed to." "But they don't need you anymore," said Morrowseer, he glared back at her, "And neither do we." Blister's claws tore across Kestrel's throat, making her unable to scream before she had the chance to. Kestrel clutched her throat, trying to keep the blood in, it hurt, it hurt, she staggered back, the wind screaming in her ears. Blister came forward, staring at Kestrel with a smirk on her face, she arched her tail forward, stabbing Kestrel right in the heart with the tip. Kestrel collapsed on the rocks, thrashing, it hurt, it hurt. She opened her mouth, wanting Morrowseer or Blister to feel the pain of her fire, but only blood came out. She knew it was the end, she looked up at Morrowseer, but he only glanced at her, before reaching out with one talon and nudging Kestrel off the edge of the cliff. The wind caught Kestrel's wings and tossed her in the sky, smashing her against the rocks, she couldn't move, couldn't save herself, couldn't do anything, she was about to die. Then the wind stopped, throwing her into the ocean. Kestrel breathed her final, sad breath. Kestrel hit the water, and it all went black. WoW, you read until the end, thanks for that, stay safe or whatever people say nowadays
I love how it starts out in Kestrel's pov, then after her death, it shows Peril forging her own independent, individual path in her mother's footsteps, and then finally meeting back up with Kestrel. (Whether in a dream or after her own death, I'm not sure.)

I feel genuinely bad for Kestrel. I feel like her past directly explains why she was so horrible, and although I agree she was abusive, she’s still one of my favourite characters. I screamed when she was killed off, without a redemption arc. It tore me to pieces because she honestly deserved so much better then the cards she was dealt. Anyways, this is a great MAP! I live the music and literally everyone’s parts are so beautiful. Great job to everyone, it looks absolutely jaw-dropping.
I started crying at the part when she was brutally stabbed and falling to her death while remembering her own daughter before she blacked out, that’s was the saddest thing I have ever seen in a wof map and normally I don’t see many sad enough scenes to make me cry. Good job with this map everyone!
3:26 I love how starflight has the flowers across his burnt eyes instead of the mask! It's so cute to me. Many because he is my favorite dragonet of destiny. I will be honest
This was beautiful, the song absolutely fits Kestrel in so many ways. It had so much emotion, expression and detail. All Kestrel wanted was to raise her dragonets in peace, away from everyone else. This actually left my sobbing, it was so good. Stunning job to everyone who participated.

Kestrel did so much, lost so much and the only time of her life where she got to finally rest, was when her time in this world was up. Kestrel was cruel because she had cruelness thrown at her. The only thing she ever wanted in the world was a peaceful continent to have start a family. But that was all gone too, RIP Kestrel the SkyWing. May you fly higher. (Amazing MAP btw)

I don’t even know what to say! This was beautiful!! It represents Peril and Kestrel perfectly! not to mention all the effort the amazing animators put into this! I can’t stress enough how prefect, beautiful and well put together this map is!

Every time I watch this I cry, I miss Kestrel and wish we could have seen more of her, she was nasty to the dragonets because she wanted to toughen them up so they could defend themselves, everything she did was for the best, even if the dragonets didn’t understand that
Kestrel was one of my favorite characters in arc 1. She really tried hard, caring for dragons is hard. For the people saying “kestrel was so rude” I think she was always jealous that the dragonets were always so cheerful and happy. She was awful but she wants peril back. I was upset kestrel died. Rip kestrel we all love you.
i dont know why, but looking at the flowers covering Starflight's eyes indicating his blindness just makes me all teary eyed and my heart is threatening to burst out of my chest. This is such a beautiful map that just fills me up with many positive feelings.
I'm so glad i found this song like this. Not only is it a beautiful song, but it's on my favorite series and some of my favorite moments. You did Kestrel perfectly, and nothing can, or will, change that. She worked so hard for a good life, and i at least am glad she got to have a truely happy moment before she left the dragonets. I cried the first time i saw this, and have had it on repeat all day. Thank you for this beautiful new peice in my life.
I just cried, that was so beautiful! I'm glad people are making anemics/animations on what some WoF characters that seem awful in the books or graphic novels. These animations just make everything about them make people see them a different way and what they've actually went through and how hard their life was. These are showing that's why they were/are so cruel or mean on the outside! Love the forever burning flowers for peril as well XD! And these songs really do match with the character!

I always thought Krestel was a mean hopless character and when I read the part she died I didnt feel happiness..I thought that the universe always had it's favorites and has it's unfavorites and when I first heard this song and watched this video...I noticed that I had a character who looked like Krestel but didnt act like her I didnt make her a daughter or a heir of Krestel..or a friend..but..this really touched my heart..hearing and watching it over and over..Krestel was mean- but she had a small ember in her soul..when she reunited with her daughter..I felt the love and warmth of that ember but when she died I knew she died for something...and that was..her daughter..Peril
As someone who absolutely HATES kestrel, and will never change my mind (no I don’t take criticism please don’t try, today has been stressful enough already) This is gorgeous, and really shows how she must have seen everything. Doesn’t mean I think her treatment of the dragon eyes was valid whatsoever, because it’s not, but this is still gorgeous! Wonderful job to everyone who participated!

This animation has the exact meaning from the book.As it says in the book,Kestrel thought she’d lost her family forever,but she finally found out that Peril survived.One of her last words to the dragonets and Peril were:”I am the way life has made me.Take it or leave it.’ She never had said truer words.She had the worst life.She actually didn’t lose any of her family.Kestrel already knows Peril is alive,and as it says in the book ‘Dragonslayer’ ,her other child,who is called Sky,he also survived.Her husband was not actually a SkyWing,but he was actually a RainWing who had Darkstalker’s thingy which he used mostly to shapeshift into other types of dragons and the Icewing Cirrus is actually one of his forms(and he is a spy that works for Ex-Queen Scarlet).Kestrel still died dishonorably,since she got her throat cut,and she was stabbed through the heart by Blister’s tail.The universe was cruel to Kestrel in every way.
Just at the beginning of the book I knew Kestrel was gonna die at some point. I just could not ignore that gut feeling. But I also didn't expect it to be so soon.

I was really disappointed when Kestrel died, she had such an interesting backstory! I like how this shows her dying fulfilling her purpose: to see Peril again and preparing the dragonets (at least a bit) for the world!

I love how it starts out in Kestrel's pov, then after her death, it shows Peril forging her own independent, individual path in her mother's footsteps, and then finally meeting back up with Kestrel. (Whether in a dream or after her own death, I'm not sure.)

I feel genuinely bad for Kestrel. I feel like her past directly explains why she was so horrible, and although I agree she was abusive, she’s still one of my favourite characters. I screamed when she was killed off, without a redemption arc. It tore me to pieces because she honestly deserved so much better then the cards she was dealt.
Anyways, this is a great MAP! I live the music and literally everyone’s parts are so beautiful. Great job to everyone, it looks absolutely jaw-dropping.

I started crying at the part when she was brutally stabbed and falling to her death while remembering her own daughter before she blacked out, that’s was the saddest thing I have ever seen in a wof map and normally I don’t see many sad enough scenes to make me cry. Good job with this map everyone!

3:26 I love how starflight has the flowers across his burnt eyes instead of the mask! It's so cute to me. Many because he is my favorite dragonet of destiny. I will be honest
This was beautiful, the song absolutely fits Kestrel in so many ways. It had so much emotion, expression and detail. All Kestrel wanted was to raise her dragonets in peace, away from everyone else. This actually left my sobbing, it was so good. Stunning job to everyone who participated.
I love how everyone has flower crowns on- it’s so wholesome. I also like that someone actually made a video about Kestrel. I think that’s awesome
At Kestrel's death scene it actually made me cry the first time I watched this, and I know how stupid it sounds but I connected with this so much.

This actually brings a totally different perspective for what Kestrel really felt about her daughter- this is such a cool map and it everyone worked so hard for it!
Kestrel did so much, lost so much and the only time of her life where she got to finally rest, was when her time in this world was up. Kestrel was cruel because she had cruelness thrown at her. The only thing she ever wanted in the world was a peaceful continent to have start a family.
But that was all gone too,
RIP Kestrel the SkyWing.

Every time I watch this I cry, I miss Kestrel and wish we could have seen more of her, she was nasty to the dragonets because she wanted to toughen them up so they could defend themselves, everything she did was for the best, even if the dragonets didn’t understand that
Kestrel was one of my favorite characters in arc 1. She really tried hard, caring for dragons is hard. For the people saying “kestrel was so rude” I think she was always jealous that the dragonets were always so cheerful and happy. She was awful but she wants peril back. I was upset kestrel died. Rip kestrel we all love you.
i dont know why, but looking at the flowers covering Starflight's eyes indicating his blindness just makes me all teary eyed and my heart is threatening to burst out of my chest. This is such a beautiful map that just fills me up with many positive feelings.
I'm so glad i found this song like this. Not only is it a beautiful song, but it's on my favorite series and some of my favorite moments. You did Kestrel perfectly, and nothing can, or will, change that. She worked so hard for a good life, and i at least am glad she got to have a truely happy moment before she left the dragonets. I cried the first time i saw this, and have had it on repeat all day. Thank you for this beautiful new peice in my life.

I just cried, that was so beautiful! I'm glad people are making anemics/animations on what some WoF characters that seem awful in the books or graphic novels. These animations just make everything about them make people see them a different way and what they've actually went through and how hard their life was. These are showing that's why they were/are so cruel or mean on the outside! Love the forever burning flowers for peril as well XD! And these songs really do match with the character!

I always thought Krestel was a mean hopless character and when I read the part she died I didnt feel happiness..I thought that the universe always had it's favorites and has it's unfavorites and when I first heard this song and watched this video...I noticed that I had a character who looked like Krestel but didnt act like her I didnt make her a daughter or a heir of Krestel..or a friend..but..this really touched my heart..hearing and watching it over and over..Krestel was mean- but she had a small ember in her soul..when she reunited with her daughter..I felt the love and warmth of that ember but when she died I knew she died for something...and that was..her daughter..Peril
As someone who absolutely HATES kestrel, and will never change my mind (no I don’t take criticism please don’t try, today has been stressful enough already) This is gorgeous, and really shows how she must have seen everything. Doesn’t mean I think her treatment of the dragon eyes was valid whatsoever, because it’s not, but this is still gorgeous! Wonderful job to everyone who participated!
I've been wanting to see this for a while, and it was well worth the wait to see it finished. I'm so glad this was made. It really did tug the heartstrings.

This MAP is so beautiful, all the participants had done such a great job and it's so awesome to see it done! The emotion, shown through each part, song and character choice and the whole idea is so unique and awesome, I guess it's one of the best WoF MAPs! Outstanding job!
This animation has the exact meaning from the book.As it says in the book,Kestrel thought she’d lost her family forever,but she finally found out that Peril survived.One of her last words to the dragonets and Peril were:”I am the way life has made me.Take it or leave it.’ She never had said truer words.She had the worst life.She actually didn’t lose any of her family.Kestrel already knows Peril is alive,and as it says in the book ‘Dragonslayer’ ,her other child,who is called Sky,he also survived.Her husband was not actually a SkyWing,but he was actually a RainWing who had Darkstalker’s thingy which he used mostly to shapeshift into other types of dragons and the Icewing Cirrus is actually one of his forms(and he is a spy that works for Ex-Queen Scarlet).Kestrel still died dishonorably,since she got her throat cut,and she was stabbed through the heart by Blister’s tail.The universe was cruel to Kestrel in every way.

Just at the beginning of the book I knew Kestrel was gonna die at some point. I just could not ignore that gut feeling. But I also didn't expect it to be so soon.

The first WoF MAP that I actually got emotional while watching.
Wow, this actually made me cry. If you think about it, Kestrel had such a hard life. This helps you realize just how sad it was, and how it resulted in her cold heart throughout the books. Thank you to all of the animators.

That was beautiful and gave me chills, all the participants are so skilled ❤️❤️❤️
I was really disappointed when Kestrel died, she had such an interesting backstory! I like how this shows her dying fulfilling her purpose: to see Peril again and preparing the dragonets (at least a bit) for the world!

I know this was like 2 years ago, but I can't even explain how much I love this map due to my love for kestrel. I literally started crying at the end when kestrel died, because it was more emotional then the books could even describe.
