Definitely, makes me believe rest of the interview too and that really wanted to be honest and put everything out. I don't think many would admit that they didn't feel much after a best friends suicide.
Floyd couldn't be more the opposite of Lance. He tells everything literally as it is, for better or for worse. You can tell he is a decent and honest person by his answers, he will criticize himself when he knows he has done wrong, rather than make excuses he takes responsibility. He clearly just got caught up in the culture at the time...
Seems like even now Lance only takes responsibility because he has to at this point. Even then he still plays the blame game. Not to mention he still seems like a douche in some ways. Maybe not as much as then but still.
@@KC-UT4rmAZ Problem is that LA only tells what needs to be told. In fairness, I'm sure he's sick and tired of it and just wants to move on from it all.
I really hope that suicide rates in men is something that is taken a lot more seriously in the future. We (Men) are conditioned to not show emotion from the time we are children. We are told showing emotion is “weak” and when there is no outlet, things fester and seem overwhelming. I just wish more men who felt they couldn’t go on would ask for help. Getting things off your chest is such an outlet that men are scared to do because they feel it makes them look weak.
It's not the only problem. As years pass you realise life is not as simple as you may have tought earlier and women get older have kids famillies etc... so you see you'll never have a girl you really like and things dont improove people around keep getting older. You see that life is pretty much just going to work for money etc...
When men are diagnosed with Alzheimer's or incurable degenerative diseases, they choose death. a lot of older men who commit suicide do so because *ASSISTED SUICIDE* is mostly illegal.
Huge respect for Floyd - Feel for this guy as he is so Honest - Exactly the opposite how I feel towards that Evil POS Armstrong who has zero remorse 😎😎😎🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
Floyds decisions And actions were a direct result of his environment. I don’t think for a single second that he cultivated a plan to take drugs to get to the top. From years of passive and just plain aggressive nature of drug taking in the sport sent this genuine athlete onto a one way road In the wrong direction and he became the fall guy. As he reached out and got no help I don’t blame him for taking the rest down with him
Best comment on the thread. Seeing empathy on internet is a nice surprise lol. I also think what Lance did was unforgivable not because of drugs but for being an awful two-faced bully who abused his influence at UCI to report athletes like Tyler Hamilton who were beating Lance on time trials by 2003.
Yep and that’s the difference. One personality hated what he had done and the other seemed to revel in it, cultivating a whole machine that bulldozed anyone that opposed into the ground
"a weak man" - That really does not seem fair compared to the average person or to the circumstances that Floyd's incredible talent and endurance pushed him into.
Floyd ratted out Lance for doing the same exact thing he did. Zero respect from me for Landis. He was just jealous of Lance. He and Armstrong played the same game. FL is a hypocrite.
@@TheMrbc74 you hit the nail on the head here. Someone said LA could have defused the bomb by giving FL a job. He chosed not to and ultimately paid the price
That is a tremendous over-simplification of a complex situation. Are you from Texas, Brad? Just gotta ask, coz that sort of comment has a tribal bias to it, NOT an objective or analytical one.
And Lance ratted out Hamilton out of envy. I wouldn't even be surprised if Lance pulled strings with his mates Verbruggen or Mcquaid to get Landis popped after he won. Floyd always said the test results didn't make much sense given what he was taking
Brutally honest answers.

Gotta appreciate how candid he is here, not easy.

I felt this way after my divorce. I was immune from any and all additional pain for years. It’s a defense mechanism and is totally natural.
I really enjoyed hearing Floyd's insights on everything that happened. I never read his book, so this was great!
Graham Fantastic interview as always!!

I know how it is I tried to kill myself I tried to hang myself but I got through it

Couldn’t agree more. I’ve got a lot of respect for him, he’s very intelligent, and also, when discussing lighter subjects, incredibly funny.

Floyd is passive, Lance is aggressive personalities............both doped to win, and neither regretted. Basically same dudes in the sport..
Floyd this is Kim. Wills ex girlfriend....your roommate. My heart to you and love. You are Floyd just breathe life is good.uch love to you
All these guys are psychopaths they all have the same souless look
Why is he breathing like that??
Because he's human and this is the loss of a close friend who was like family.
Swallowing his pain
World class endurance athlete. Years of training have made his lung capacity massive. Inhales huge amounts of air with every breath.
Damn imagine how much more you would hate Lance if he was this blunt. I find Floyd a weak man but at least he admits it.

Floyd has to one of the least weak men on the planet. Titanic level of toughness.

Lance could of saved himself, floyd asked for lances help by giving him a job on his team, lances ego and self-centredness was his downfall
