I also love Les Parisiens collection, I'm happy to hear you talk about them more. My favorite is Lupin Voyou, maybe I'll wear it today.

I really like iris torriffe, les parisians is the best collection but is virtually impossible to find and then they discontinue the best one in dandy. It’s hard work being into guerlain, a real mission to get the good stuff at least in Australia, the crap l’ideal flanker stuff is everywhere of course

To my nose *Pachoulie Ardent is an Oud Rose perfume*. Cuir Intense is the most amazing leather fragrance ever! Middle Eastern fragrances are awesome!

Thanks for the thoughts! Surprising that you didn’t draw any connections to past entries in the line, because everyone else I hear speak on it does, mostly to Bois Mysterieux. Hopefully I can figure out a way to get a sample because it doesn’t sound like one I can blind buy. I did blind buy Cuir Intense, and now I’m happy I did because that one is probably my favorite behind Santal, but it is a bit much. Musc Noble should’ve gotten the axe first for sure. Excited about the new tobacco, but I already found cuir intense to be pretty tobacco heavy so I’m thinking it might be going the sweet route. Thanks for the video!

Your fragrance journey has been relatively short but intense, while mine has been long and ardent (!) but...not intense. So I have done a couple decades' worth of research during COVID and am only now starting to appreciate what I would term the "oudification" of Western fragrances. I don't have an oud in my collection as yet, but I'm getting trained on the deeper, darker orientals so I can eventually enjoy oud. Or not...such is the journey. I love patchouli and have a number of patchouli-centric frags, so I went in on Patchouli Ardent because it seemed like the best entry into the D'Orient line for me. SUPER spicy, and to my nose, very dry. Also linear. Very little rose or fig, which I would have enjoyed. But the overall effect produces distinct enjoyment of a fragrance type that is new to my nose, and thus is highly pleasurable. And that bottle...c'mon, it's the bomb. Thanks for the review.

Have you tried Xerjoff’s Irisss? It’s a very beautifully done Iris perfume. But very very expensive.

Oh no I really like Cuir intense, I will keep preciously my little samples. A bit too "hairy" for me to wear myself but when I smell Cuir intense I imagine the scent of Indiana Jones leather jacket 😁
I love le Frenchy. I've been wearing it myself for a year now. Then my boyfriend got jealous and asked for his own bottle too for Christmas 😆

    Im confused now !

I believe I read somewhere Wasser intended to showcase the fresher/lighter aspects of patchouli 🤷‍♂️ let ya know when I crack into it.

Unfortunately I don't get a scratchy patchouli in the newest formulation of Heritage edt. Very smooth and soapy. Much preferred the 2012 formula. Always interesting to watch the evolution of a brand through its releases.

Sad cuir intense is being discontinued, I started liking Ambre Eternel, it was discontinued, I feel nothing towards Encens Mythique, and Bois Mysterieux seems not to be so interesting any more to me at least. There is patchouli in Patchouli Ardent and the initial blast is pepper followed by fresh cut green figs or bruised green fig leaves. the latex coming form green figs is very characteristic, I am not surprised you couldn't describe the green fig as where you are there no figs around, whereas where I live, they are around, still a nice fragrance, but really disappointed cuir intense did not make it... sad...

Thank you for your 1st take on this, look forward to hearing how you get on with this one down the line. Cuir intense is extremely different from everything I own ,sad to see it go but the right choice from the line up if one had to go.

Patchouli Ardent smells quite vegetal to me

I really like this one, fresh patchouli. Probably the most "mass appealing" of the line

Hey ritch how are you bro? I hope all is well with you? I am thinking of buying lidge edp, santal royal and oud essential. Do you recommend this new one by guerlain and what are the other three you would recommend to me

    • @RichMitch
      @RichMitch 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@lyndonearlington5986 I'm good m8 how are you? I really like patchouly ardent, yeah. I think you could buy that in confidence. I've got cuir intense, encens mythique and I'm going to get patchouli ardent. I think you'd enjoy the lidge edp, it's not too thicc.
Theres no oud in oud essential and I sold my santal royal as it was a bit too sweet for me. If you like them though m8, buy them, wear them and be happy!

They should’ve discontinued Oud Essentiel instead. To me it’s just another boring Oud rose combo. Not essential.
