Absolutely NOT too harsh. These companies are destroying their very heritage (and the industry, if nobody calls them out on it) and pawning crap on consumers. Keep it up, man. I was not in the market for these shoes, and I am not an UGGS wearer, but this makes them lose all respect in my book.
Used to work at Deckers. First, it's Ugg boot, Ugg slipper, etc. Uggs is a generic name not trademarked, i.e., the boots every Australian surfer used to wear out of the water, short for ugly. Second, Ugg used to make its boot out of a solid piece of lamb hide with the fleece on--breathable, silky soft, durable. Now they use Wolverine (another company I worked for) pigskin suede, which is a cheap alternative to other leathers. That is coated in that company's version of Scotchgard, then laminated to a mix of lambs wool fleece and synthetic fleece. It no longer breathes and the fleece has a plastic feel. I left the company after these changes occurred so I'm not sure how other components like the insoles, outsoles, thread fiber, etc. changed, but I suspect that happened as well.
100% Aussie here. Wearing my 100% Aussie made UGG boots made from 100% sheep skin. First Deckers steal our name and now produce crap and try and cover their greed by saying it’s eco. Superb Videos. Keep up the great work.
One more company to add to the list of companies that start using junk materials to save cost's and still make premium money. Filson, Carhartt, Red Wing and Thorogood and your favorite one, Alden boots are all making their products cheaper and still charging high prices. And, you are not doing anything wrong. These are companies that sell products to the public. You do a great service to the boot and shoe buying public.
My Tasmans are easily my most worn shoe. I'm so glad you made this video and, whilst it is disappointing to see lack of commitment to quality, they're still my favorite shoe (honorable mention for Whites Semi Dress though). I'd love a video specifically on the Slugs on one of your channels for more detail!
The whole reason I buy Ugg is for the decent quality and real shearling and at least real 100% wool. If it’s not real wool then it gets nasty and even worse matted and nasty if you go bare foot. Take care of your wool and that won’t happen and it can be cleaned. Whereas if the other type can be cleaned it will go out the dryer vent or make you a nice gnome blanket in the catcher.
Another great video but I agree with another comment that the background music is annoying and just a distraction, your descriptions and commentary are entertaining enough.
FYI there are 2 different UGGS the real (the original, made from a single piece of leather backed wool) Aussie UGG Boot establish in 1974 (made in their factory on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia = check it out) and then there is the American owned Chinese made crap... go figure...
I own a pair of these. It really sucks that I can't just take out the insoles and replace them because they do wear out super quickly. The rest of it is fine I guess but for the price I expected better
Lol did he just say wool is static free? It's a classic physics experiment on static electricity - you rub a glass rod against WOOL to demonstrate the phenomena! "Natural fibers like silk, wool and cashmere are more likely to cause static charge. The buildup of static charge in cashmere fibers is 2-40 higher than other yarns like cotton or linen."
You are on target. But there should be an upgraded model with shearling and the real attached sheep hairs like I had in my Clark's desert boots in the 60"s. So comfortable. Try and find them these days, not!
Disgrace! Products are just getting worse over the years! There's more wealth in the world than ever before yet products 100 years ago were 10x the quality they are today, yet we have 10x the tech we used to have! I hate how the world turned out!
Been getting ads for Cuero Boots and saw they even cut their boots in half to show the construction and materials. Would be cool if you could compare it to other cowboy boots and see where you'd rank them
It is sketchy. I still buy my shoes and boots IRL because it is hard for me to get a good fit. There isn't much time in the shop to go thru the whole description, materials used etc. If I was in a market for this type of shoe, seen the brand and seen this shoe in a shop I would assume it a proper thing, but it's not it is nowhere near the quality I would expect. I hate when companies go thru enshittification, especially with already established products. If you are making a worse version of an existing product you should change the name of said product.
I repeat it again, if you want to get something good with wool ... buy or get something for the brand SHEPPERD of SWEEDEN I own a couple to be at home and they are just perfect
Wow! I was about to buy a pair thinking they were the sand stuff from 20 years ago. I don’t mind spending the money if it’s quality and it’ll just but if it’s cheap and marked up? I rather just get a cheap off brand one.
FYI this makes a difference to me, I bought Ugg boots cause of the wool - and I've been looking for slippers, winter is coming, so uggs are off the list. - looks like Birkenstocks will be the winner... UNLESS... are they doing the same thing?
I really hate companies that know they are fooling the consumer and use deceptive language to blow it off. They know what people want. But instead of doing that thing, its easier to re-name the garbage work they do to make it look less garbagy.😂😂😂 "Thats not us pissing on you. Thats rain. Its good for the environment."
Can you please cut apart a pair of Nike Air Ship Tech Grey? Compare them to the 85 Highs. I have a feeling that they have the best leather in comparison for the 84/85 retro area.
Come sempre ottimo video. Bravissimi ragazzi!👏🏻👏🏻🍾🥂💪🏻🙏🏻 Ho tre bellissimi cani e perdono meno pelo di quelle brutte pantofole. Mamma mia! 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤦🏻♂️ Ugg=💩
Yes it's true most consumers today are totally trained to buy garbage. Past 20 years footwear companies have been training the customer to expect less less durability less comfort list fit list everything all the while the price goes up and the wages for the workers goes down. despicable.
The biggest issue with the "better" UGG alternatives is that they seem to forego the actual UGG appeal: comfort. There's already tons of narrow uncomfortable shoes on the market.
Thank you for this information. The only action toward these companies : not to buy their products. I lately sent back On shoes when knowing that the "eco friendly" program was a scam. I have been reimbursed and bought better shoes by TBS using full leather 😊
UGG or Ugg! i have some other brand woo ugg boots they are so good , great cleaning too because you dont get wet feet if a bit of water gets on your little feet
Any chance of y’all looking into a brand called Viba. I’ve always been interested in getting a pair but I’ve been burned with other smaller brands like them before. If someone, I don’t know, could get a pair, cut them in half, and make a TH-cam video about it that would be awesome. lol
I bought a pair of the new tasman boots and I instantly regretted it and wanted to return. The quality is lacking. The material mix is so cheap. (Didn't return because I'm 1 hour away from the city)
Ikea has some synthetic sheepskin rugs. They look and feel like the real thing and are machine washabe. I've had a couple for over a year now that have been washed several times and are still like new. I also have a pair of synthetic leather work gloves that I'm not so thrilled about. Mainly because they"re kind of stiff, don't stretch, and won't conform to my hands.
I am an American who lives in Australia, I will not buy the Uggs made by Dockers. It seems wrong what they are doing. I only buy made in Australia Uggs. You are suppose to wear them without socks as they will keep you warm in winter and cool in summer. I am moving back to the states after 27yrs living here and I have been stocking up on my Au uggs😄
The Ugg brand shoes went downhill since they dropped "Australia" from the name. The feel of the boots and slippers was entirely different before than it is now. They used to be thick, soft and fluffy, but now a little coarse and thin. As I recall, they were previously made both in Australia and China and ever since they started being only made in China the quality has not been the best. Maybe that would be an interesting comparison: Splice a 10+ year old boot and compare it against the newer boot.
The same downward trend in quality & longevity can also be seen in Blundstones ! In my most recent pair, the soles just cracked & fell apart after a couple of years, whilst the leather was like new, what a waste 😠
just like every other company that goes public and gets share holders. go from making a quality product to making the most money and screw the product. sad my wife has a few pairs of ugg boots and there years old and still in great shape. they last longer than my boots from walmart lol.
MUGGs 3 and SLUGGs live now, get a pair before they are gone here - bit.ly/3YValSZ
Absolutely NOT too harsh.

"How do we spin cost-cutting as a positive?"
*slaps "eco friendly" on the product*
"BRILLIANT!"

Can we see a Jim Green Nuzmaan cut in half?
Jim Green is putting that forward as their version of a true heritage style boot.
Please chop up the Bode x Nike Astrograbber sneaker - I’d be really curious to see if there’s any quality to this colab sneaker
To me, an Australian, Uggs will always be the shoes my friend would wear to the corner shop when we were seven years old.
You are Exactly Right!
they should make huge deal about moving away from shearling and they have not!
I was almost taken in!!!
Yup, you’re right.
FYI there are 2 different UGGS the real (the original, made from a single piece of leather backed wool) Aussie UGG Boot establish in 1974 (made in their factory on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia = check it out) and then there is the American owned Chinese made crap... go figure...
Yeah we know, we watched the videos.
Slugggs looks like something that easter european slav dad would wear around house and garden for decades... :D
A solid cut-centering today. Bravo on a good job!
I stopped buying Uggs. I buy Emu boots now; made in Geelong Australia. I like that I can replace the insoles.
I had the outsole fall off Emus in a few hours of indoor wear, they refunded me and I bought some American twin face uggs which have been great
Emu boots are the best I live in New Jersey it gets so cold here and my feet be so warm !
I crocheted hot pads out of wool to use for pulling pizza pans out of a commercial oven. They out perform the storebought hot pads!
Always love this vids. They are always full of great information.
Can you do a video on the Ugg 1974 series, specifically the classic mid in bomber or nappa
I own a pair of these. It really sucks that I can't just take out the insoles and replace them because they do wear out super quickly. The rest of it is fine I guess but for the price I expected better
Maybe shear the insoles with some clippers and stack a new one on top
Wouldn't this be like Schott making a vegan leather Perfecto biker jacket?
If the tencel makes it more comfortable, I''d be cool with that. They have to keep it pretty minimal and have it mostly wool i.e 75% plus
Hi Weston could you review the Superga Cotu shoes? They're supposed to be a classic and I'm curious as to its true quality thanks
Lol did he just say wool is static free? It's a classic physics experiment on static electricity - you rub a glass rod against WOOL to demonstrate the phenomena!

Do any brick and mortar shoe stores carry your MUGGS 0:49???🤔🤔🤔🤔 want to see them in person before purchasing.
You are on target. But there should be an upgraded model with shearling and the real attached sheep hairs like I had in my Clark's desert boots in the 60"s. So comfortable. Try and find them these days, not!

Could you do the Vessi Stormbursts, and Yeezy NSLTD Boot if possible?
Off topic, but loving the small visual video editing details. Been noticing them and it's worth pointing out
Could you make a video about new balance 574?
Fun fact - the sheep in Tasmania have little mohawks in winter so they don't get too cold.
Dude all the kids be wearing these and wanting them for Christmas and I'm like why 😭😭

I have Ugg’s from years ago and the pair i for this year definitely feel different with the fur I thought I was tripping
I would say so, my wife hasn’t talked about uggs for a long time.
FYI this makes a difference to me, I bought Ugg boots cause of the wool - and I've been looking for slippers, winter is coming, so uggs are off the list. - looks like Birkenstocks will be the winner... UNLESS... are they doing the same thing?
which is better in a slipper, uggs or Birkenstock zermatt shearling - quality and pricewise
Next shoe review ideas... please do the Camper Peu - Over priced or worth it? - or do the Dunlop Volleys (Legendary tennis shoes from the 1980s)
What’s the original Aussie Ugg brand called and is it sold in the U.S. ?
How about Vicuña wool? I love it more then any other wool

Great content Weston could you cut in half the redwing 2415 moc toe wedge sole
Come sempre ottimo video.
Bravissimi ragazzi!👏🏻👏🏻🍾🥂💪🏻🙏🏻
Ho tre bellissimi cani e perdono meno pelo di quelle brutte pantofole.
Mamma mia! 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤦🏻♂️ Ugg=💩
BOO! Deception attempt. I've worn my real UGG boots almost to death and the wool is quite important to me
Yes it's true most consumers today are totally trained to buy garbage. Past 20 years footwear companies have been training the customer to expect less less durability less comfort list fit list everything all the while the price goes up and the wages for the workers goes down. despicable.
Hello, could you possibly do a breakdown or review on the Thursdays Encore Sneaker??
There is a wool-based flame resistant fabric that outperforms Nomex.
Hope you can do a video of Teva Grandview GTX Mid Hiking Shoes
Can you review hypebrother shoes? They look futuristic but I wanna know if they are worth getting.
I ordered the Tasman’s and returned them right away because the quality was not there.
Hi, I was wondering if the Thursday commander boot is worth it? Is there any way of getting them reviewed??
Great video, informative and helpful.
I’m sure that the shearling Birkenstocks are the same - I’m so disappointed in mine - and they cost a fortune
Please review the UGG extreme Shasta
I am straight away recognise inside to be not real wool.
I am upset because prices to high for this tazz/tazman
Consider doing a review of wool runners from Allbirds.
All i can think of is Cyriak's "baa".
Can you guys do a review on Vagabond Shoemakers? They’re a minimalist brand from Sweden with a really cool story and culture
UGG or Ugg! i have some other brand woo ugg boots they are so good , great cleaning too because you dont get wet feet if a bit of water gets on your little feet
What does your cut centered score actually mean?
Any chance of y’all looking into a brand called Viba. I’ve always been interested in getting a pair but I’ve been burned with other smaller brands like them before. If someone, I don’t know, could get a pair, cut them in half, and make a TH-cam video about it that would be awesome. lol
👏 Love these exposing videos. Great work. 😁
Yup, wore through my slippers in a couple months and they sweat horribly.
I like the concept that a brand’s quality will suffer when they placed Profit over their customers.
I bought a pair of the new tasman boots and I instantly regretted it and wanted to return. The quality is lacking. The material mix is so cheap. (Didn't return because I'm 1 hour away from the city)
20 years ago I but them once and never again - it had a whole in the toe after four months - not very durable.
Chop some popular dress shoe brands please!!!!
I'd be spewing if I bought these... Now I know, and I won't :)
Are there multiple UGG companies currently?
Or is Deckers just the newest owner?
Need a show called a Hugg
Ikea has some synthetic sheepskin rugs. They look and feel like the real thing and are machine washabe. I've had a couple for over a year now that have been washed several times and are still like new. I also have a pair of synthetic leather work gloves that I'm not so thrilled about. Mainly because they"re kind of stiff, don't stretch, and won't conform to my hands.
You can wash real sheepskin in a washer, just shouldn't put it in a dryer.
You're the perfect clueless customer! Thinking synthetic wool acts like real wool. If i was a company i would be thrilled with people like you!
I am an American who lives in Australia, I will not buy the Uggs made by Dockers. It seems wrong what they are doing.
I only buy made in Australia Uggs. You are suppose to wear them without socks as they will keep
you warm in winter and cool in summer.
I am moving back to the states after 27yrs living here and I have been stocking up on my Au uggs😄
Good call. The truth is the truth and it must be out in the open.
Is it just the Tasman or is it also the Tazz ?
Well said. Thanks!!
The Ugg brand shoes went downhill since they dropped "Australia" from the name. The feel of the boots and slippers was entirely different before than it is now. People will go down swinging to justify brands they like. Companies know this and are more than happy to hose the customers with reduced quality.
Bet there is a woman walking down Asher Ave in Little Rock right now in 98F/90% humidity that is rocking Ugs...she don't care how they they are made.
Agree. Profit is ruining most products.
"SLIP"
It's a shame the brand stole the name
sweet knocked loose hat
+1 for the video. +100 for the fucking Knocked Loose hat! ARF ARF!
Excellent hat! \m/
They’re doing this with their platform uggs too! Fake fur
Good video!
My gf is still gonna want this Uggs though
Sounds like you need a new gf.
Take her on a holiday to Australia and buy some real Australian made uggs.
@@harukinzaphod sadly she’ll be happy with the American version lol sorry Anvil
I'm happy with my fifty dollar bear paws 🐑🐻
Same
They are starting to use polyester also
The same downward trend in quality & longevity can also be seen in Blundstones ! In my most recent pair, the soles just cracked & fell apart after a couple of years, whilst the leather was like new, what a waste 😠
Don’t they just have an issue with their souls… They seem to rot, even if you don’t wear them?
just like every other company that goes public and gets share holders. go from making a quality product to making the most money and screw the product. sad my wife has a few pairs of ugg boots and there years old and still in great shape. they last longer than my boots from walmart lol.
Nice video.
It's not what they say about the product, it's what they don't say. The manufacturer should make it plain that shearling is not used. Honesty please.
any new zealand shoes out there?
