Looks like a challenging but great trip! Incredible views and a beautiful trail and scenery out there. I have been close to Elba last year but didn't make it to the Island, I really regret it a lot after watching your video ;) Fantastic production!

Yeah i try to do that at most of my videos to point out the unique flora and/or fauna that can be found at this place. especially on Island where you can find many endemics this is really interesting to me. Thanks for this video! I am hoping to run this in 1 day. A few questions: What time of year did you do it? How did you buy a bus ticket? Why did you decide to start Pomonte instead of Patresi, or start in Cavo? Where did you re-fill water?
Hey Melissa thanks for your comment! Answers to your questions: 1. We walked it in the first week of March 2023. 2. The Bus Ticket you buy like everywhere in Italy in the local tabbacco Shop or other similar facility, just ask locals :) 3. We decide to start in Pomonte cause we already knew the Patresi path from our hikes around the area. We stayed on Elba for 2 months Volunteering not far from Patresi. Thats also why we wanted to finish in Cavo, as it was our way off the Island. 4. For water refill it is important to go to the towns along the way. There is only one refill directly on trail, Walters shelter as you can see in the video. If you walk the original route you go through Procchio and Porto Azzuro. There you can refill if the fountains are working or buy water. If you have any other questions feel free to ask :) all the best!
I would like to do this next year, starting from Cavo. How is it with wild camping, is that allowed there? I see mixed stuff, but also that you camped in your video.
Hey! Thanks for your comment. Sooo according to law it is not allowed. At the first stage you will maybe have to search for a bit when starting from Cavo. The second day, the area around monte Capane, its a Nationalpark. So try to not stay in that area. On the other hand, there are a lot of the Caprilli. So in my opinion, if you respect the enviroment, and leave nothing behind and collect some of the trash already there, go for it! Greetings
Teils teils, viele kenn ich mittlerweile schon, weil ich ja jetzt seit fast 3 Jahren durchgehend im Mittelmeerraum unterwegs bin. Aber mit den Orchideen zb da hab ich gar keine Ahnung davon. Viele davon seh ich selber zum ersten Mal.
