We parked at the start of the side road to Lake Emma (Kirihonuhonu), then walked along the main road to Lake Camp (Otuatari), down passed the first couple of toilets and the camp area.
Through the wee gate and up Balmacaan stream a way, crossing the stream we then followed the poles and track around to the old musterers hut.
This hut was built between the late 1960s and 1980, it’s a two room building with a small tack room on the side.
After stopping for lunch we then walked the rest of the way around the lake and back to the car.
