To be fair most of us that grew up on gen 1 and 2 didnt follow many gens after that because they became extremely random and alot of them were garbage. Gen 1-2 are alawys going to be the best and most memorable pokemon ever created. Now there have been some other cool ones added here and there but as a whole nothing beats those 2 and even 3 isnt terrible.

This mod is a classic I loved the old series back in the day with Benry the crazy boss Trainer I've never played Pokemon and I don't like Anime so never got into the cartoon, but I love Pixelmon.
Huh, reminds a lot of the Pixelmon server I played on, RC-Pixelmon. It’s dead, but I’m sure some lessons will carry over, considering how similar it is.

A vast majority of mods and mod packs are 1.12 not just Pixelmon.
A version for 1.16 is in development as a stepping stone to 1.18 as so much has changed for modding since 1.12
1.7.10 used to be the main Minecraft version for modpacks up until 1.12.
Using an older version allows them to add more content without slowing down as much.
