Somewhere in Sweden, someone is feeling the pain of you working on the truck without proper Scania dedicated tools.
We just call them metric tools.. J/k
But seriously, very few normal maintenance things that need special tools on a Scania
это точно.
Or maybe in Finland, hah!
@@ray-conemod8271 В Финляндии делают SISU. И эти грузовики не уступают Скинии
He'd better get some metric tools if he wants to work on those Scanias in an efficient manner.
Some gentle advice from an ex Scania Master Tech.: Never open the package of parts you will be using before you need them, lay out the parts that came off in a sequence and THEN open the parts package and lay the new parts out in the same sequence to see a) you have the right parts and b) you got everything out!
Those aluminium bushes at the bottom of the air bag were regularly failing as they are right wher teh road crap gets thrown up. I was doing like 3 sets a night when on inspections.
You opened all the packages and had loose items mixed up with other loose items which is risky without a parts list to reference. Mind I was the same as a kid at Christmas ...
But great to see the Black Beauty being restored to nice condition.
FINALLY some SCANIA -content again from Bruce.
And: -Holy shit; that was painful to watch. Can hardly count the times i went: -No-no-no! NOT like that! Spilled my morning coffee too...
But Mr Wilson sure is hands down; a hardcore 'do-or die' -mechanic; when it comes to gettin' shit DONE!
I think a shop manual should have been the first thing you ordered from Scana
Well if they only had a travers roof crane, it would be easy to hold the cab up while change those parts right. Now cut them some slack, they obviously don't have the needed tool inventory that you would find at a certified shop.. They are a happy band of brothers having fun on a youtube channel. Whats wrong with that.
Even if he would he would throw it in the bin.
Emanuel
It’s called Scania not Scana.
Scana used to be the name of our steelworks in my little town in sweden.
When you do the cab shocks theres a small "o" ring that sits ontop of the shock before the airbag goes on. DON'T LOOSE IT OR FORGET IT!!
Finally! A Scania update, what a long wait that was.
Bruce don't open every little box buddy you're going to end up losing some little part you need make it 👍👍
For a Scania Mechanic. This Video must be either a nightmare or the most funny shit he has ever seen.
From me as a Scania Technician as well, atleast he uses genuine parts lol
Like watching a butcher at work, first thing would have been a read of a manual. Glad it's not my 4 series.
To a scania mechanic this is both a nightmare and hilarious to watch.
Simple easy way to install those sway bearings (or pretty much any bearing) is to put the bearings in a freezer for 15 minutes and heat the bar to uncomfortable to touch temp. The frozen bearings just about drop right in. This process works exceptionally well for changing starter ring gears on flywheels. I would put the flywheel in the freezer for 30 minutes and the ring gear in an oven at 250f.
i keep them in the freezer overnight if possible. 15 minutes sounds way too short for bearings of that size.
Except applying extreme heat to sprung steel parts like the sway bar, springs or anything of the like is about the dumbest thing you can do. You will remove the metals tension memory and it will no longer work properly, good chance if you do this the part will shatter in the future.
@@baltazard133T Never had a failure. Some people that do have a part fail overheated the part, that's why you heat it untill it's UNCOMFORTABLE to touch but not so hot to blister skin. Been doing this for 47 years.
@@alanrouse7285 do you think people really heed that advice? You know dayum good and well most people heat that up till it's glowing cherry red!
Bruce, please get metric tools. 😅 With love from Finland... 😆
He's doing well getting the Scania Cabover back together..!! 😊 proud of you Bruce..!!😊
I think everyone likes the Scania content over everything else
Think it’s because it’s different from American trucks. I’m from Scotland and love scania trucks
Done those darn swaybar bushes on the 480 the other day.... it was a mission.. you need to lift the cab and rest it on the chassis deflate the air shocks and remove the whole swaybar.... lucky google and youtube was my friend watching how to do it... still took me couple hours
Bruce before get carried away. You are going to have support the cab above all the mounting and brackets your taking off. Slow down and think about for minute.
Bruce, you unwrapping those all those boxes reminds me of Christmas!!
Cool to see Koni sending you shocks. I work near the Koni factory so I'm familiar with the brand.
It also helps some to put ball joints and bearings in the freezer for quite awhile before you set them in.
Scania will probably use this vid as a let us service your truck ad.
7:53 “I have no idea about what I’m doing”. 😂
Nothing like being honest !
Bruce, we need a 3 hour video buddy, we need to see all these parts go in… also those white trucks in the background, we need to see those babies get worked on
Finally some new Scania stuff! Can't wait for the next video...
Nice seeing the Dutch Koni suspension parts!
how have you never heard of KONI shocks lol
I used to watch this girl truck driver from Sweden on here Angelica Larsson she was voted the prettiest truck driver you should have asked her to come help
Yes but in a bikini
@@sodbuster4296hehehe... Do you want a catfight?
His wife would probably do some onlyfans collaboration with her.😂
We still run older Case tractors and one of the 4x4 models has a Saab Scania engine in it, its almost impossible to get parts for it in the US
Bruce said i hate working on things that hurt and Ryan says do it again 😂😂😂😂
Would love to see a fuel consumption and overall comparison between American trucks and Europe stiles. My MAN tgx tends to have better fuel economy than some American pickups
You should have put all of the lube on the bottom of the bearing housing. Then when you insert the bearing it will push the extra lube out thru the bearing and every crack is filled at the same time.
yep, do't get cheap on the lube Bruce
Lube was also pushed in bearing from the top when he installed the seal.
It's always complicated but exciting the first time😂😂😂
The excitement is putting it all back together only to find you have a cup full of bolts and a f ton of hope
Bruce just messes with his scania and prays that it will run better after lol
Can't believe Ryan is really 42yrs old.
I thought he was 4 going on 2. My bad
Where did you get that?
i want to see you get one these trucks up and doing work with it hauling
boi got him them koni reds guys gonna be pop in wheelies in no time
best to drop all the air from cab air bags then remove them and let cab sit on bump stops . To prevent them bearings drying up again tap a thread and fit a grease nipple so you can keep them greased up
First truck I ever drove was a 164L 580, nice to see a good looking 4 series in the USA
Open top of grill up and forklift above cab with a pair of chains onto cab shocker mounts and gently lift
Bruce, When are you going to European Truckfest, Like Truckstar Assen in The Netherlands, Ciney Truckfest in Belgium,.........????
Lopik and Mantorp Park...
@@fuorisagoma jep these 2 too
"where's our torch at, go get me the torch"! 😂 Agreed Bruce, get the torch! It can't be stuck if its liquid steel 😂
The shocks have to stand up to work properly. Just a reminder. Awesome vid as always.
Make a list for ordering Tools. And a translation Shop Manual. 10:51
There might be an English language manual.
@@kristoffermangila They are sold in at least UK and Australia so there has to be english manuals.
@@BadAndUgly same here in the Philippines.
Bruce, restore the Scania to their glory, please!
You've seen the way he works? A full restoration may be wishful thinking.
@@Savagetechielike he is still dealing with paccar stuff
Great job. I'm already looking forward to the next video. Greetings from the Czech Republic
All due respect, and with every kind of love I can find :-) .... You are driving a Swedish Scania, not some Italian Iveco or Fiat, .. So please start training those spaghetti arms.. ;-)
День добрый. Дружище Магирус это тоже сделано в Италии
My method of (improvised) working on it would be looking how it's all linked to chassis and cab and what parts are carrying the weight of the cab to avoid any collapses and damaged components.
I'd bet that the sway bar is part of the tilting mechanism and the cab could have went all sideways and whatnot causing all sorts of trouble. Lucky that didn't happen and it all went successful.
Also, keep dust sensitive parts such as bearings and engine parts in their sealed bags until it's time for assembly, it's good practice to do so in order to keep any dust or contaminants away.
YAY, Scania content!
Experience with this new project is amazing 😊
KONI, best Euro Shock...SCANIA best Euro Truck-Bruce, import them.
Yippee some Scania Video's, well your learning Bruce and the guys in Sweden are crying 😂
But hey you've got it done so well done you 👏
Please don't be long before the next video, let's get this baby back up and running and looking sweet ❤ then get the old gel out on the road and show her off,
Great job Bruce keep it up 👍
It’s gonna ride much better now, once you sort out all the shocks and bushes. But please, consider running at least one of your 4 series trucks without a bull bar. I think they look so much better without 😁
Hi Bruce. I do like Scania beacuse i from Sweden. Hope you handle them with care.
Did you Watch some previous videos from Bruce his other scania’s😉🤣
Koni is a big name in sport suspensions here in Europe.
That’s a real worker truck shoe in the door big push bar 💪🏻👌👌👌
You guys should have been at the indianapolis raceway this weekend for the burnout competition with cleetus. Would have been amazing to see a scania in the burn out pad
like watching the 3 stooges only with 2 missing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for posting!
I am amazed how not organized the guy is... unbelievable
a other youtuber had to do it also last year , that shop lifted the cabin with a crane
Love the video Bruce see u got the parts in have fun with them
Its nice to watch at least some americans coming from ´70s to european ´90s :D
I bet someone in Scanialand is laughing their ass off right now... :D :D :D
Have to keep shop clean easier to find tools you are using and find parts ! Plus just a way more Pluto work in
what do your new colleage's think of the scania ? maybe cool video
I seen Blue Collar is up for sale in Bryan Texas
You've seen it in person?
@Z4N7 I live in Houston. Seen add on Facebook
@@shfiremanFunny.
Didn't that guy that got her say that he plans to use that truck when he gets the licence?
@Z4N7 guess he changed his mind about keep it.
only recently found your channel Bruce loving the content .scanias are everywere here in the UK keep up the great work regards geoff
parts aint cheap, but OEM parts are worth it
Share this to your friends that has acid reflux and heartburn. Tell them to use 3or2 inches ginger, slice it thinly. Get fresh boiled water pour it to a cup, put the sliced ginger in the cup cover it and leave it on the table for 10minutes then drink it. You can add honey if you want (optional). For best result drink it while it is hot not cold. 3x a day before meal. ✝️🙏🙏🙏
It's coming together 🎉🎉
I haven't seen the white Scania in a while
fire wrench always works.. if it dont it needed replaced anyway
Scania Mania🤘🤘😁 Have a great evening, Bruce👍
Scania mechanics punching air rn 😂
Bruce use your ball jiont press those in now too?I use it to change thrm all the time too
Finally some scania stuff.. And christmas presents aswell ;)
Ol bruce the scania butcher 😬
Workin on that thang like it's a 1986 ford eff one fiddy!
Ryan sounds like old man off family guy ,make him say he's got some ice cream in the basement if u want some boyzzz
I didn't watch family guy for some time,so i checked.
And yeah,he sounds exactly like old Herbert.🤣
Your SCANIA rebuild and upgrade videos are cool. Suggestion, buy a case of PB Blaster and or Free All Rust Eater for Shop Stock to use on those rusted parts, might help w/ disassembly!!
27:29 'this is the future' 😂 I also have a set with such pliers. and every time I use them I swear louder😂 I have also broken 3 pliers and got them replaced. They are only for small c-rings, even the big pliers can only take out a small c-ring. That's why I hate them😂😂
Bruce Wilson, with the delivery for the wheels. i am guessing that you will have to add the tennessee stud to make all sets complete ? 👈👺👀👀👍
straps and overhead crane is helpful when doing front sway :D but it worked with forklift :D also i would not trust those cabpump lines holding the cab up.
This is a great how not to rebuild a Scandia cab video
Those are inverted e bolts all imports use them
I want to see the 730 in this 💪
Finally i see a white Scania. ❤
This project i repeat this project mmm i love this m on my way to help you Bruce
When you will show us T-cab Scania🙏
When are you going to Tim in England?
Bruce don’t do half ass work like Tim Gentry does. Use a wire brush the inside of that sway bar put some lubricant to keep from rust then your lubricant from Scania. You didn’t even pack that bearing properly. You should hold the bearing in your hand and press lube in it as you move it around in your hand.
Soon Scania won't be bouncy boy anymore 😂
On another note, my "Scania" Saab 9000CS has finally unfrozen it's fuel pump and now starts, was frozen since december when we got the cold snap.
something funny is there is a big chance that i helped to deliver those scania parts because i hade practice work and i have delivered alot of those scania boxes around södertälje
Upgrade the back lights to newer original leds
Hi Bruce
Always a good way to start when you don't have a clue what to do is full steam ahead rip and tare, figure it out later.
maybe reed the manual as that should have gone easier. put the bearings in the freezer for a few hours . heat the other end and it goes in easy(er)
Lerning by doing - thats the thing!
"Its just an Eyelet..... thing" 🤨🤫. LOL
You need to get a forklift and lift cab at front a little
Adoro questo video ❤, grazie
Need moore dude👍
They got a 680 cid running 225 psi 100 ksi from a pro stock tractor at 6100 rpms then lower as they go with harts injectors 14 gpm and pump n aviaid oil pump 3 stages n it's freaking ripping everything John Deere
Bruce, please remove the aluminum front bumper from the trucks. The Scanias are prettier without it, you will greatly improve the aerodynamics of the truck, you will lose a little weight, you will lower the fuel consumption and response of the truck.
