Tim is the Australian treasure whose musical capabilities far exceed the best of the singer/songwriters of the 70s. He effortlessly manages brings humour and/or solemnity with his compositions, topped up with his wonderful voice. Glorious. Thank you for sharing.
Most people will miss the genius behind everything he does effortlessly, takes nothing than genius to pour our comedy great music skill writing and political views lyrics guy is Genius !
Tim's ability to 'nudge' us down the better path, while simply entertaining is his genius. He will enter that group of our best loved exports; so cool to have him as an Aussie.
:o He skipped my very favourite line of White Wine in the Sun - "these are the people who make you feel safe in this world, my sweet blue eyed girl". That's the part I always well up at.
7:23 The exact moment the host fell in love with Tim. The man is completely hypnotized...like all the rest of us at that exact moment. Hypnotized with tears running down our faces.
iI adore this man. What a mind! What a personality! What a sensitive soul. What a musician! I had tears in my eyes, and a smile on my lips, all in one line of that last song. Just beautiful. He's truly a star.
tim minchin and marylin manson i have to say are the two most insirational icons that i have....even though they are in a sense opposite when it come to the way they present their art it still amazes me that they are bold enough to say what they do and express the selfs and i would be fulfilling my dream if one day i could do the same
thank you so much! I've been looking for this on here for ages as my dad *grumble grumble* taped over it before I was able to watch it. I was not a happy chappy but now I am because I've seen it! all I have is the pod cast which meant I couldn't see any of the old footage. thank you again!
I love songs like "not perfect" and "drowned" and this last song he plays, which have pieces of satire here and there that don't feel out of place, but are completely honest and kinda touching. He's a balls first guy and an awesome musician, and i reckon he's fuckin great.
During that "for doing logic" in response to "god's gonna strike you down" it's funny looking at the difference between people clapping and the people squirming.
"Baby when Christmas comes, we'll be waiting for you in the sun" and how Christmas is in winter and cold and stuff. He's from Australia and Christmas is warm and SUNNY
Oh Tim. How do you keep such awesome within you. Would you not explode from the amount of awesomeness crammed inside your body? Or does the awesome come out during a show, then reloads when you are off stage?
@MJlover3307 He was calling stevesedberry's comment arrogant because it is based on the assumption that if you don't believe in God, you will eventually be proven wrong. ie, your beliefs are incorrect and [mine] are right. The statement was not "people who believe in religion are arrogant". The statement in question was definitely arrogant.
I think I understand now why we don't have any "New" Christmas carols. Because the only people who try to make the next standards are all arseholes who can't write music. While all the songs that COULD become the next great carols are all deeply personal and not-for-sale.
"I'm not really out spoken on religion" also... "Fuck the Pope" "Come Home Cardinell Pell" haha. I think he's gotten a lot more frustrated over the years.
The thing about racial slur that I haven't understood is the urge to legitimize it in other contexts. Eg. people using the N-word or other words that otherwise would offend doesn't if the speaker is from the same group. Wouldn't it be better not to use the words you don't want other to use? Eg. if gingers really didn't want to be called a ginger why should gingers call each other that in the first place?
@xpolkadotgirlx ......................uhhh when someone shares your views their automatically a genius? gay..... (i think he is a genius but that line isn't an exampleof it)
I love and Respect anything or anyone that have balls to say that religion is a bunch of nonsense bullocks B.S. hypocrites God’s given free card to commit atrocities and crimes against humanity, Guns’N’Roses Civil War is one of the best songs ever written that describes Religion pretty well !

I wonder if the black guy in the UK has heard Tim's song Prejudice or just as possible... was the inspiration for it.
During that "for doing logic" in response to "god's gonna strike you down" it's funny looking at the difference between people clapping and the people squirming.

@MJlover3307

I agree with Tim. "the game" is total bullshit.
