@@yoshitsune5691 Most high level players in competitive games usually don't really enjoy the game because they have to play it so much that they see it as a job rather than to have fun, you have to train every single thing about the game and play at least 6 hours a day and that becomes exhausting for most people
I mean it's easy to enjoy T7 if you're on such a skill level that you can just bully high rank players. Most of us still constantly struggle with different match-ups, knowledge checks and other similiar stuff which can be frustrating.
This is why I like BoA Luvb's playstyle so much. It's pure entertainment. He doesn't give a crap about your frames or being unsafe. He will hellsweep you 5 times in a row and I love that to watch.
Most based and redpilled Tekken lesson, you cannot get more authentic than this. Demonstrates perfectly the beautiful optimal thought process behind high pressure Tekken. Having fun, emptying the mind, breaking expectations and asserting your creativity.
I have been playing Tekken a lot for a few years even back in those days when i was just a button masher i learnt one thing which still applies till this day....... NEVER PLAY ANY GAME TOO SERIOUSLY THAT YOU FORGET TO ENJOY PLAYING IT..... THAT'S WHAT GAMES ARE FOR ❤️
That's why I play Yoshi. Shit's so fun to play and he has alot of funny moves. Until I seriously learnt him in 6, I was just mashing randomly and it annoyed the shit out of people cos they thought I was feinting the Shoto draw but in actuality I was just mashing.
Ngl man. This is unironically why i play Xiaoyu now. When i play Lee or Jin i play too much like a tryhard, but its fun to play as Xiaoyu and play completely goofy lmao
This is like a good lesson for life man - do what seems fun to you even when the consequences may suck. You might be doin’ something that isn’t optimal or what others like but if you’re having fun doin’ it then it ain’t work it’s a thrill. Zenitsu energy here man Bruce Lee 1000 kick energy here man
I know you as a pro player but I recently started to watch your videos too and I wanted to tell you how fun they are. It's nice to see your approaching to the game and it even changes mine to start having much more fun playing. I love how you make it look as if there were order in chaos lmao.
When I get stressed and frustrated I head into player matches with Paul and Deathfist/Demoman my problems away until I feel nice and happy, then I can go back to whatever I was doing. I can barely play Paul, and I mean BARELY, but I can Deathfist, and I can Demoman. And that's all I need for 15 minutes of "brain turned off" fun!
To be great at Tekken like pro level you need to have time for it, and I am talking about thousands of hours of practice/studying, years even. It's like work and you need to have a thick skin, because when you lose you will be taunted. It takes a special person to be a pro at this game and still be a strong player, I would say being a Tekken pro is more rare than being an NBA pro. What JDCR is doing is not even close to being easy.
@@owainkanaway8345 The most important thing will always be to have fun. If you don't then you won't invest the hours necesary to get better. So yeah, play how you want, adapt that... Over time your flaws and errors will be shaved away. Studying is... For those dedicated. I mean sure study the basics, takes like 20 minutes. Implement them, then work on your inputs? Mechanics?... The world is your oyster, just be sure to have fun. Some people find practicing Electrics for 2 hours in training mode fun, others would rather take it to the match. Better for learning under pressure and provided you've the right mindset... Quite fun.
@@owainkanaway8345 You are exaggerating way too much now. Being good at tekken sure is really really hard, but don’t compare it to being a pro in the NBA. Its feels maybe more rare because people don’t go home and play Tekken, but they might play basketball with their friends. Its a bigger sport, but also attracts more people. Hence the competition is HUGE and hard to even become pro at basketball.
@@dusanbiga4948 I think being a pro Tekken player is harder than being an NBA player. With Tekken, you have to master fundametals first like block punishing, whiff punishing, side stepping, block guarding, fuzzy guarding, etc. Then you have to learn the matchups of 50 different characters and develop muscle memory to punish and counter those characters' specific moves and strings within a fraction of a second. With Basket Ball, all you need to do is be 7 feet tall and practice throwing a ball in a hole again and again.
I feel that if you're a guy like jdcr, knee or even in other games like daigo, sako, tokido etc. where you've been a top contender for so long that you just have nothing left to prove, you only play for fun. You know you're good, everyone else knows you're good, so you're past that point where a big part of your self-worth comes from proving how good you are at the thing you try hardest at. You get to have the same mindset of a casual player, where you are just having fun and goofing off and winning/losing doesn't matter. But when you're intermediate or even high level (but not world class), seeing yourself improve is your source of fun, and losing is an indication to you that you're not improving, so it's frustrating.
Ill be honest iv always played tekken purely off of instincts thats why i liked it. i didnt even know about "frames" till tekken 7 and i still play like they don't exist which is why i still enjoy tekken so much
Frames really just boil down to the amount of options each player has at any given situation. Typically players in advantage have more options than those who are minus. Even so, the player in minus still has options. They can still step, power crush, use character specific defensive options like Flash or Kenpo and even mash if they read their opponent is not going to press a button. At that point, instincts take over once again. But sharper and more consistent because they are reinforced by knowledge of frames.
As a Kaz main I have exactly same feeling. Sometimes stupid loses because my not perfect execution (could throw something cheaer and won).. but who cares - its about fun and spamming ewgfs
JDRC sees some good soulful tekken with Kazuya and hear I was afraid I was the only one due to some online messages. I usually do that when I don't care about wind or losses and go for my vortex immediately even spacing back from oppents near the wall to remind me of how things were before tekken 4 only to get called retarded when in actuality I'm just trying to relax that day than play competitively. It's like grinding xp in final fantasy where it feels satisfying like in 6, 7, 9, and 10 hell even 15 and oddly enough playing for fun helps refresh the brain while subconsciously working on move execution.
I did learn something most important here. Play for fun, not to win. How to do that? Find happiness in landing your favourite moves 😂😂 and keeping it in mind that it's ok to lose. Lmao
Holy fuck, how could someone describe how I play fighting games so well? Full screen Yang roll’s unsafe? Who the fuck cares? YEET Doing Seong Mina’s Unblockable is trash? Who cares that shit cool. Heihechi is a bad Devil Jin? Fuck that shit, Devil Jin doesn’t have the old man swag.

Sometimes losses with them get on my nerves, but I'm trying to remind myself on why did I pick either one of them. Sometimes I also wanted to learn them, but only for the casual point, not competitive. Again, the point is, sometimes do not forget to enjoy the game. Well, someone might get "oh you stupid scrub only knows how to talk" I mean that's up to you to handle, I guess.
JDCR speaking from his heart throwing 5 hellsweeps in a row while abusing Raijin players is the most inspiring thing i've seen this month

I think that’s why he’s one of the best kazuya players since he doesn’t really follow any formula or system, unpredictable
