This has been my fav Paradox strategy game so far and I encourage people to not let the 'Mixed' reviews on Steam turn you away. Really enjoying it, especially the politics and laws. Feels like there is always something to be doing without even getting to conflict. New update just dropped and they are continuing to improve it.
What an unexpected and pleasant surprise to see this from you Scarlet, I'm so happy you liked it!
As a big Paradox Interactive nerd I've been playing on and off since release but the game is in a much better place now after patch 1.5 and the warfare/economy rework.
I still prefer Vicky 2 + mods. But I have no doubts that Vicky 3 will be amazing in 2 to 3 years.
Excellent once again!👍😁
The tutorial makes this game. I’ve banged my head against Europa so many times because I wanna like it…this may be the handholding I need. Thanks for shining a light on this Scarlet!
I'm hooked on crusader kings 3, and have 500 something hours now. I saw this on sale a couple nights ago and got it for 20 something aus dollars because i had older ones. So awesome, I would really like to get as hooked on this as ck3, I really like seeing all the the paradox dlc for these games 👍😁
I really appreciate your perspective on this. The setting massively appeals to me but I got held back by the pretty prevalent opinion that the game was a huge disappointment when compared to its predecessor which I never played. Guess it’s a perfect time to give it a trial run!
I’ve been pretty apprehensive about picking up Victoria 3 bc I have 100+ hours in Victoria 2 and love it, and I heard so many bad things about Victoria 3. This has convinced me to pick it up next time it’s on sale!
Good review. I really enjoy the game too.
Brilliant!
Man I love Vic 3, The dlc's tho, they should be free, but i have sunk 800h of my life into this game (Still haven't reached 1 billion gdp, my max was 600 mil in 1928 as belgium)
Loving it.
I'm a nerd and love management sims. I will have to try this out.
send help i cant escape the coal stockpile must go up the steel must go up the engines must go up must build trains send help I cant escape the factorys must be built
the factory must grow
I hope they add a few more tweaks to diplomacy (for me the fact WWI happens once every 5 years is very frustrating) but I really love the premise of Victoria 3. I never cared about the changes to warfare but it was a bit stale on release, it sounds like its become a lot better.
y i bought special edition, i like that game is quite refreshing after spent countless hoi4 and ck3 :D, if u like play economic game is v good (with all DLCs ofc)
😊
I love the idea of paradox grand strategy games but man they're hard to get into.
You don’t need to know everything, just grab some friends and play. I have 500 hours in HOI just goofing around with a few friends, we srill have no idea how the game works lol.
I felt the same my dude, but it's well worth it.
Most Paradox games seem complicated at first but are well worth the time and effort, if you like the grand strategy genre.
I used to play Real Time Strategy games but they do my head in now. The multi tasking required is exhausting and not fun.
@@lateralus6512I’m looking to get into a Paradox game, and your comment spoke to me. I love aoe 2 but it’s just too much now a days, which paradox game is your favourite?
@@khay0z I like Imperator Rome and Victoria 3. But Crusader Kings 3 is also a good game. It's a personal preference really. Some of their other games are hugely popular as well.
I love Paradox games. This one disappointed me and I didn't put more than ten hours into it.
I suppose I can give it another chance, when I have the hard drive space.
It's a perfect time to jump into Vicky 3. They just fixed a massive load of issues the game had ever since the launch. (stuff like building railways in Zimbabwe would help ticket demand in London et cetera). The latest localised prices and advanced military is sorely needed addition to a game that's predecessing extremely detailed society simulator called Victoria 2. Vicky 3 is now finally slightly closer to that title but it still shouldn't carry it. It's a good game but it should have its own IP and not use Victoria in its name.
Such a great game, nothing like it
I'm not personally a fan of this one, I do only really like it for the mega campaign though, It is probably because I prefer hoi4 over them
wait 3 more years right now its just not worth it for the content it have atm
The paradox DLC model is one im mostly ok with; they're pretty good about adding to the base game every time DLC comes out and I'm ok with a $30 DLC that'll give me another 80 hours in a game where I've played 250.
No, it's not
Yes, it is.
