I've got 33,000 miles on my GTL and it still gives me a thrill every time I ride it. Very comfortable for long distance touring. I usually run 200 miles between stops. On hot days it is without question the coolest fairing bike I have every owned, virtually no heat off the engine. I have ridden Gold Wings for 20 years with little bad to say about the Wings. I've ridden the new Harleys and found them comfortable but extremely boring. The BMW is a world class long distance ride, or cruise around town in 6th gear all day. Bend the throttle and you've got a sport bike. Best all round bike I have owned or ridden in 48 years.
Hi Lawn Ranger, Do you still have the K1600? I am looking to buy my first 16 k1600GTL, second hand with only 2500 on it. Showroom. Is this really a good machine? Should I get extended coverage ? Can you please reply to my email, al@corimindustries.com? Thanks much, Al
Lawn Ranger , The Dealer loaned me a new demo bike 2018 K1600 B for a 24 hour period test ride. When I parked it in my garage I noticed afterwards 2 small puddles of what I think was water & Oil. This is a bike with only 500 miles on it. Is this common ? Is it run off the radiators ?
Purchased my 2016 Exclusive 4 weeks ago, the power, riding comfort and handling is second to none, not to mention all the high tech luxury features, BMW have really outdone themselves with this masterpiece, this must be the best touring bike ever made.

Although I'm not a motorcycle rider, I like that it has the typical inline-6 sound that the BMW automobile engines make. The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. If I ever got into motorcycles, I'd want to ride a BMW. Between the GS series and these, there's no doubt they seem to make the best motorcycles in the world, from a geek's perspective.
This bike will spoil you with awesome power and amazing handling. The weight goes away completely above 10 mph and turns it into another BMW "Ultimate Driving Machine". Love my 2012 GTL. Nice vid...

I just put on Michellin Pilot Road 4GT on my GTL and it handles like stung rabbit and incredibly agile for this big bike. I can easily do U-turns on full lock in parking lots etc. Stunning for fast cornering too with a high degree of confidence. Confidence is needed and quickly learnt on this stunning bike which is such a pleasure to ride over long distances and sweeping-tight turns. Don't let its sheer size hinder you, it is very light once it gets going. I'd take it to bed with me except my wife would object. Hopefully I'll post a GoPro vid here when I figure out some editing procedures etc.
Thank you for the review! What a Bike! What a powerhouse!! Able to split in sunder both Soul and Spirit! The 2018 model is a little lighter, and reverse comes standard. Important when you park it in a pointed down position, and youre not an iron man athelete.
Not a problem. I am acquainted with BMW from years back. I used to drive an R/51/3. The quality hasn't changed and the R&D department is still top notch!!
hello I'm waiting for the new BMW k1600 gtl but you can't tell if the new model will be released in 2022. Do you have any news? I have to decide whether to wait or choose another Honda Harley and I would be very sorry.Ally from Italy
Just an FYI, you dont need to BLIP the throttle before downshifting on this bike. I have the GT and the clutch has a built in slip that compentsates for the downshift into a higher rev gear without the drivetrain lash that you get from any other bike.
I normally ride a BMW GS 1200 Adventure but did a whole Europe tour with this "space ship". It is a superb bike first of all. I think its a massive fail to compare a bike with a car or other "noise making two wheeled vehicles". The performance was mind blowing. We were two up and fully loaded and yet it was climbing those alps like we riding flat and empty. It needs attention while doing sharp cornering as such yet it does surprise with an agility which im used from the adventure. Highway travel is a blast as that thing "moves forward". The electronics working very well and taking good care of critical situations e.g. on a very rainy day we had to pass tram tracks in a little village. Everybody who is into riding would know that this can turn into a nightmare. Rear wheel got caught in one of the rails and we did slide a bit but the traction control took care of it and with a bit counter steering and balancing we stayed on wheels....long story short its a superb bike for long trips anywhere on this planet.
I just purchased the 2016 GTL Exclusive. Unbelievable performance! The European's are quantum leaps ahead of the US. They just don't have swagger American bikes have. That being said, They're just a different type of bike overall.

Any comments about attempting to compare an awesome bike like this with a car, or a metal box doesn't deserve any time spent trying to explain!!!!! I was willing to give up a minute and a half of my time to type this.
Enjoyed the video. Can you share your microphone - sound setup (where and type of external mic snd where located, etc,) you virtually eliminated wind noise, thanks!
Sure. I use a cheap Olympus mono mic with an inline stereo adaptor. I cover the mic with a small piece of foam, then slide a cut off finger tip from a latex glove over the mic. Mic placement is critical and will be sensitive to the helmet you use. I place the mic in the lower third on the right side of the chin guard in my Arai helmet. Have fun:)
lkazanov I ahev a 2012 and in my opinion you only get that lash if you labour the engine and change gears too early, I know it feels strange but 1st is very very wide and I for one do not find it an issue but each to their own cheers
This bike always appears to get great reviews, I like what I see, but wonder how it compares with the Gold Wing. I know it is very expensive, but there is a hell of a lot of bike there.
I just looked this one up on cycle-ergo and was shocked to find that I could probably ride one of these beasts comfortably despite my 28" inseam. The straight six sounds good, but not like I was expecting (see RC166 Honda).
Have you done a long term review of this bike yet. Got rejected finance for an RT12 so just going to save for that and keep going until I can get one of these and use it as a medical courier bike? BTW do you know if the authority model is available to the public, but without the lights and sirens (So the "service" panniers (top loading like on RTs) and the big protection crash bars)?
Cal Moto from what I've seen on TH-cam and pics it's a gt with the top loading narrow panniers with the crash bars at the front, single seat conversation and much smaller discreet crash bars around the engine (suppose because they don't have to protect the boxer pistons)
You mentioned you were able to put your feet flat on the ground. Mind sharing your height and inseam with the general public? I'm 5'10" with a 30" inseam, and always wondered if I would be best served with a standard or low seat on the BMW touring machines....keep in mind I've been on Harleys up until now haha....
Cal Moto LOL. You may know motorcycles, but you don't know video. With the sun low, you either keep it behind you or to the side. You don't shoot in the shade when your camera is metered for the sunlight.
Cal Moto AT 5:30 the bike stalls and you restart. Wondering if it was an issue. As an ST1300 rider, I am considering one of these. Your vids are great btw.
Jimo368 That was entirely operator error:) That was first time I had ridden a K1600 and I simply stalled it. I have not come across or heard of any stalling issues with this engine...ride a demo when you have a chance.
Test drove the 1600 a few weeks ago and found the seating position too cramped for my 6'3'' frame. If anyone has any modification suggestions it would be appreciated. Other than the seat issue, really liked the bike.
You have, of course, ridden one? I remember the same stupid comments when manufacturers brought out electronic ignition and again when fuel injection appeared. Any real men out there want to go back to points and flooding carbs? Yes, it's not light. But considering what's in it, it's pretty good. There's plenty of other makes that are heavier that wouldn't get a sniff at it. Harleys, Hondas, etc. I bought my 2012 GT in June, I've done 7000 since and the only problem is that I can't stay off it. I've driven on roads with grass growing in the middle, no shortage of those in Ireland. It's one of the best all rounders I've ridden in 40+ years of motorcycling. According to the COMPUTER it's averaging 55 mpg. That's UK gallons. I did let it fall over. My fault. I'm 58 and short in the leg. As an experienced motorcyclist I was able to get it back up myself using a well known technique. Maybe you should stick to your 400 Honda.
Your point is well made, but their has to be a happy medium between reliability and over complicated. I worked on Aircraft for 20 years and I can say without a doubt that electronics was the most difficult system to troubleshoot and the most costly to repair in an aircraft, yes electronic ignition is more reliable than points but no system is 100 percent, and points are dirt cheap to replace compared to electronic ignition components, Use electronics where they offer obvious advantages, but curtail them where they would add cost to long term reliability.
Rodney B Jennings Exactly. Modern fuel injection and computer controlled ignitions are a revolution in reliability, especially for the mechanically-retarded who always flooded their carburetors. But the slew of unnecessary electro-toys and computer gizmos on these new bikes adds weight and complication and reduces reliability. When these things start to go (and they will, sooner than you think) nobody knows how to fix them and price to repair is extravagant. And 55 imperial mpg? What a joke (that's about 44mpg U.S. for those unknowing). There's sports cars doing better than that. I don't care what anyone says, nobody needs 1600cc on a motorcycle, even for performance riding. But...it's a free and decadent country so don't let me stop you from buying what you want. Just remember you can have just as much (or more) fun with something smaller and less cumbersome.
Why is it aero-space engineers always comment on these sort of things? Or is it always you that replies, Rodney? If I rode my bike at 20,000 feet I would be inclined to agree. But I don't. Not much. Electro-toys? Computer gizmos? Flooding carbs? Expressions like that make you sound like you're older than me, Roadghost! Think you need to clean those rose tinted glasses. You are both missing the point. This time last year I was riding a 30 year old BMW K100 'brick'. Complete with fuel injection and electronic ignition. ABS didn't come in until about 1989. Then I found myself in the fortunate position of being able to buy whatever I wanted. I wanted a BMW K1600GT. In red. That's it. Didn't want a Harley. Didn't want a GS. Didn't want a 400 Honda. But I do respect anyone else's reasons for wanting a particular model of bike and while I may take the piss, I'm happy for them. In ten years, maybe it will be unreliable, maybe we'll all be dead. Or maybe I'll be riding something else because it is too damned heavy for me. Whatever! Stop sounding like grumpy old men. On the subject of fuel consumption. I did a quick search and found this quote from the website of one of the UK's leading motorcycle insurers, Bennetts, on a review of the K1600GT. 'Ride by wire throttle delivery and BMW’s clever closed-loop fuelling system ensures excellent fuel economy. We ran through a week of ‘normal’ ride to work mileage and averaged a creditable 56.4mpg while solo with empty panniers.' Sounds about right to me and is echoed on other reviews. Providing you aren't riding around like Cal Moto, with your bum on fire! Incidentally, the engine is actually 1650cc. You know, smaller than most Harleys. I hope that you guys are as happy with your chosen steeds as I have been with my big, red K1600GT.
John Williams Not trying to scare you John. It is a beautiful bike and I'm sure a pleasure to ride. I trust you made a calculated decision about the longevity of the electronics when you bought, since you're clearly a learned rider. I hope it serves you as well as the boxer did. I suspect you'll be fine for the first few years with the new bike, most are. Past that let us know. I own a 1340cc Harley Davidson, which suits myself fine and gets similar fuel mileage to your BMW. I often wonder if I couldn't do the same with a smaller, lightweight well featured bike though. I believe it would be a good direction for motorcycle manufacturers to go. You like your bike, and that is all that matters. Happy riding.
It's a great bike, no doubt - but for reliability and flat out durability and comfort, I'll take my Goldwing 1800. I know people with well over 200,000 miles on their Wings and they just keep going. Still, if you're a tecnho freak and have to have sports bike like power - the BMW will do. But my next bike will be a Moto Guzzi - when you ride one of those things, it takes you back to how motorcycling used to be - it's extremely visceral. Just a man and a machine and the thump of that awesome motor. No frills or baskets full of stuff to go wrong. But hey - everybody loves what they ride - there ain't no use in arguing about it :)
+Frank Fraticelli I wonder if you're referring to the "Norge"? Although I have a Connie 14, there's just something about that particular Moto Guzzi that stirs something in you. It's just got soul.
I've ridden the Norge and the Griso and the Breva and Sport...love 'em all. The one I liked best as far as sitting position was the discontinued Breva. The Griso was a blast. It's the motor :)
I have taken my R1100RT to over 90k miles so far without any mishap and it still gives me the thrill to ride her.... I would never change from BMW now... I am totally hooked and enjoy it daily.... I will be purchasing the K1600GTLE in the new year and then going to Europe for 6 months... can't wait.. I also had the Goldwing and whilst its a great bike.. the K1600GTL will leave it behind in all stakes... comfort, reliability and durability...
That comment is unfair. No disputing the reliability of the Goldwing. But the K1600 hasn’t been around for decades, give it time to either prove it or not. But, I do hear ...endlessly.... comments like ‘it’s a BMW, so you know it is reliable’. Owned a few bikes over the years, and the BMW was by far the most finicky and fragile. Maybe I had a bad experience... but I don’t assume anything when I see those letters.
The coast to coast record was just smashed on a K1600Gt. No better bike on the planet! www.indiegogo.com/projects/history-of-motorcycle-transcontinental-records/x/10979737#/story
It's too bad they haven't made a K1600S or RS. The main reason i would buy one it's that peach of an engine. I guess the only thing that would make it even better would be a DCT option. Thanks for driving it hard and showing what it sounds like and it's acceleration capabilities.😎👍 Most of the owners in here ride these like the bike is made out of wax and glass, FOK THAT. 👎💩
I will say I agree with most of what has been said about this bike. Performance..high tech options all great. Comfortable for touring...no. This bike while is awesome does not hold a candle to the Gold Wing or Ultra as far as comfort is concerned, when 2 up is added to the equation the GTL will be left on the showroom floor looking pretty. One of the first things said in this video while taking it for a ride, "This is not a cruiser, this is a beast". Well said...awesome power...awesome handling but for me the comfort was just not there after 3 100 mile test rides.
Because some of us have lives. I know what I heard. Instead of a pathetic attempt to intimidate me, how about you admitting it wasn't the fricking smartest thing to say on a video.
I read the comment where you said you meant sketchy. Never heard it used in that context before. Maybe it's something you should be more mindful of in the future. Also, you felt the need to insult Chip O'Brien. Why?
the only thing that I liked of the bike is the upper cargo case... if the side case where slimmer then I would have like those to... regarding the bike it self ... its to big of a engine... to heavy... to much power... that cant be used due to the aerodynamics and highway max speeds
+Robert Ostman Would you say the same thing about the Goldwing, it's bigger, heavier, and has more horse power......It's obvious you are NOT a tour bike rider, if you were you would see the very things you complain about as plusses...
aterseraph Cal Moto I own the first model year of this bike (2012). It's hard to stay off the throttle, it feels like you're flying an F14 jet. Even though this bike is heavy, you can simply blip the throttle at 20 mph and pull the front wheel off the road. I've done a few 3,000 mile road trips with my wife and I can agree, there is no substitute.
Cal Moto, the BMW K1600GTL is an awesome machine. I rode my 2017 Harley Street Glide to our BMW dealer and rode a loaded GTL. The GTL rode great although the engine, transmission and ergonomics fall short of the Harley Touring Bikes although the GTL will give the Goldwing competition.
+J.A. Jones Venture riders, myself included, call that whine you're referring to the "chirp". Sounds like a high-pitched chirping sound. Very annoying at first, but now I hardly notice it over the sound of my Barron Nasty Boy slip-ons. lol They'd wake the dead.
Turn off traction control and give the throttle a healthy twist in 1st gear :-) Can you say power wheelie on an 800 lb tourer? Harleys are dull girl bikes compared to a K1600.
Harleys are different bikes. Twin engines, less power and torque but with that low end grunt. Enjoyable in its way. I own a 2008 Road King Classic with super tuner and screaming Eagles. I also have the 2018 BMW K1600 GTL. 6 cylinder engine, 160hk, 175 Nm. Just freaking awesome. Two different bike, both leave a smile 😃 on your face😃
Spectacular example of over complication. Surely an interesting bike to ride with all those buttons to press. They probably take up half your riding attention. Of course, with BMW I can't imagine how easy it is to repair when all those electrical components begin to go wrong (probably shortly after the warranty expires) especially at the side of the road. Then there's the 1600cc engine, 1000cc's of which no rider will ever need, but will go ga-ga over anyway. Throwing fuel consumption to the wind never seems to hurt motorcycle manufacturers either. You wonder how they get away with it? What happens to those pretty fairings and accessories if the bike falls over? How easy is it to get a 1600cc bike back upright in say, gravel? Can we ever get a video of the technique used? Surely a great bike if all goes well, but sooner or later it doesn't. I guess that's when you buy another bike, or quit riding, or just buy a little 400cc Honda and do all the same things with less hassle and more fun.
Don't listen to the naysayers Cal. I like the way you ride. Ride that way myself quite often. What's the point of having a bike like this if you're going to go down the road like a Volkswagen beetle.
.... I like how you drive it, and didn’t see a single instance where you were being particularly irresponsible. Ignore the wankers who confuse speed with reckless.... frankly you were just highlighting the bikes performance.
The most important part of the video…the first 2 minutes were a total waste!!! Did you not realize you were totally in the dark and all you had to do was move the bike ahead a little to be in the sun light so we could see what you were trying to show??? Did you not watch the video before you posted it??? So disappointing…..but yes…it's an awesome bike!!!
i have a BMW K1200gt and there is no substitute ! indeed the ABS unit crapped out , like they all do and there is no substitute and it is $4000.- to replace . also ,..... come back in the fall we are busy right now , f-off !! never again!
well i'm out about 4-5000 dollars . not the end of the world but it is ridicules , that BMW does nothing too help people with this problem . since it is a known issue . hope you like your bike , as much as i did , initially.
All BMW K1600 have serious issue - They all pull to the left! My one pull so hard that if I barely touch handlebar in split second I am on left lane. ( after hour ride my shoulder is in agony from constant pull handlebar to correct it and BMW don’t seem see the problem like I will not pay £ 24000) And after owning this bike for 3 months from brand new and having already swap engine for new one I can truly said it’s crappy bike. Go do yourself favor and bike Japanese bike
I have a 2018 BMW K1600 GTL. Bought it brand new. Traded my Yamaha FJR 1300 ae 2016 new. Had some issues with the FJR. Nothing at all with BMW. Seriously, K1600 is bye far, the best bike I’ve ridden/owned. As usual, Germans have the know how! 😄😃👍👍
I have K1600GTL 2012 at 40.00km, but it has down with timing chain jump. It didn't start up after i turned engine off for motor heat up warning at 1400km away from my home. I never suggest to any of interested potantial buyer the bmw motorcycle. I bought it with big dream and future tour plan. Motor was full serviced by local official bmw dealer always on time. Germany motorrad head management refuse to cover problem also. They ask me 20.000USD to fix. Never buy it. Or buy it for only listen music with it.
I've got 33,000 miles on my GTL and it still gives me a thrill every time I ride it. Very comfortable for long distance touring. I usually run 200 miles between stops. I drove nowe from 1976 all kinds of motorcycles and will try k1600 in march.
hi john nere i was looking at a goldwing same year as the bmw GLT but gotta say i am more interested in the bmw GTL
hello I'm waiting for the new BMW k1600 gtl but you can't tell if the new model will be released in 2022. Do you have any news? I have to decide whether to wait or choose another Honda Harley and I would be very sorry.Ally from Italy
Would it be possible to have the follow up mentioned as a possibility?
my 2014 model just blows me away it's just a beast 5 star all the way
looking at the 2014 GTL TO
I was hoping you would take the bike out on Morgan Territory or Mines Rd to see how it handles the twisties.
Just an FYI, you dont need to BLIP the throttle before downshifting on this bike. I have the GT and the clutch has a built in slip that compentsates for the downshift into a higher rev gear without the drivetrain lash that you get from any other bike.
FYI, I enjoy the throttle.
Who Doesn't, but i just noticed you doing it on the test ride, and just mentioned it.
I have a december 2015 sport gt ,I always blip the throttle on the down shift , it eliminates the sometimes clunck from the box

What's the horn sound like? Does it sound like ever other stock horn?
I have one and I agree...no substitute.. However. I haven't found how to get my GPS out...any hints?
Hi Tasha. Here it is:
1. Raise wind screen.
2 Press left side dashboard button to eject GPS.
3. Press release tab behind the right side of the device and it will come off of the mount.
Let me know if you need more help.
Tasha, have you checked out the manual? For navigation, I use TomTom in my iPhone which is contained in a watertight case mounted on the screen. It is also connected to the power source for continuous charging. Additionally, I am connected to calls and music Bluetoothed to my helmet using Scalarider Q1. I can listen to Hendrix, TomTom a/v instructions and receive/send calls all in one set up. These functions are prioritised as well and mainly hands free, just yell at Siri!! Happy riding...
Why don't you simply adjust the screen height??
Any comments about attempting to compare an awesome bike like this with a car, or a metal box doesn't deserve any time spent trying to explain!!!!! I was willing to give up a minute and a half of my time to type this.
Fantastic bike. Now what are your thoughts?
Enjoyed the video. Can you share your microphone - sound setup (where and type of external mic snd where located, etc,)
you virtually eliminated wind noise, thanks!
Have fun:)
I disagree, the sound was awful. The breathing, and a lot of crackling. There were some moments where it seemed quiet though.
Try it in Germany where speed limit ain't there where allowed of course, 245 KM/h behind a Porsch, that's cool. I love this bike :)
Try my ZZR1400 and glance at the Porsche in your rear view mirror....
I had the same problem with the windscreen just cutting my vision in half on the '14 RT.. do they offer different windscreen options?
Wow Do you always ride that hard?
This bike was in my top 3 bikes I was considering getting I ended up with a cheaper ctx700 for the time being but i'll be back in the market soon. :)
You're killing me by not shifting.
Nice bike for me the best touring
Looks like a great machine!!!
Cannot argue with your sentiments, About make a deal on a GTL end month.. It's so sweet I can almost taste it, upgraded from a GT.
how much? where to buy?
Still own this?
How is its reliability
Hey. Great vid. You mentioned you might prefer a bit higher seat. May I ask - what's you height?
someone mention the 27.5 price tag! I love mine...she's a dream!
There's only one reason I'm not on one...$$$$. It cost more than my last car.
has the gear lash been eliminated? In 1st gear, low speed, persistent clunk with engagement of throttle.
lkazanov I really didn't notice; I use a lot of clutch.
lkazanov I ahev a 2012 and in my opinion you only get that lash if you labour the engine and change gears too early, I know it feels strange but 1st is very very wide and I for one do not find it an issue but each to their own cheers
what year is THE GTL LOOKING AT THE GTL TO
This bike always appears to get great reviews, I like what I see, but wonder how it compares with the Gold Wing. I know it is very expensive, but there is a hell of a lot of bike there.
Is there a radio on it?
What's a radio?
I just looked this one up on cycle-ergo and was shocked to find that I could probably ride one of these beasts comfortably despite my 28" inseam. The straight six sounds good, but not like I was expecting (see RC166 Honda).
Great review. Thanks...
There really is no sub, It ruined a few other bikes for me it’s so good
Great review looking for the next in-depth report!
Radar detector?
Have you done a long term review of this bike yet. Got rejected finance for an RT12 so just going to save for that and keep going until I can get one of these and use it as a medical courier bike? BTW do you know if the authority model is available to the public, but without the lights and sirens (So the "service" panniers (top loading like on RTs) and the big protection crash bars)?
I don't know; the only one I'm aware of is the RTP.
Cal Moto from what I've seen on TH-cam and pics it's a gt with the top loading narrow panniers with the crash bars at the front, single seat conversation and much smaller discreet crash bars around the engine (suppose because they don't have to protect the boxer pistons)
My '13 is a great bike, loved my LT but this bike is far superior!
I'm the same; 510 / 30.
Fantastic motorcycle. Hint: next time move the bike 3 feet over into the sunlight so we can see what you're point the camera at.
Couldn't do it Johnson, the sun was too low.
Cal Moto LOL. You may know motorcycles, but you don't know video. With the sun low, you either keep it behind you or to the side. You don't shoot in the shade when your camera is metered for the sunlight.
Dave George
Correct!
This will be my next bike. Good bye Harley
You're breaking bad Dude;)
At 7:20. "Buckwheat doesn't know where he is going?" You mean like "Little Rascals" show?
I mean like "sketchy".
I changed the screen with th BMW GT screen. It has a dip in the middle where you can se over
dat sound tho!
Stalled when throttle closed?
Elaborate please.
Cal Moto AT 5:30 the bike stalls and you restart. Wondering if it was an issue. As an ST1300 rider, I am considering one of these. Your vids are great btw.
Jimo368
That was entirely operator error:) That was first time I had ridden a K1600 and I simply stalled it.
You should look at the GT rather than the GTL. Or, try the GT saddle on the GTL....it's 2" taller.
thank-you!
That's what I'm talkin' about! Ride on:)
Your point is well made, but their has to be a happy medium between reliability
and over complicated. I worked on Aircraft for 20 years and I can say without
a doubt that electronics was the most difficult system to troubleshoot and the
most costly to repair in an aircraft, yes electronic ignition is more reliable than
points but no system is 100 percent, and points are dirt cheap to replace
compared to electronic ignition components, Use electronics where they offer
obvious advantages, but curtail them where they would add cost to long term
reliability.
We ran through a week of ‘normal’ ride to work mileage and averaged a creditable 56.4mpg while solo with empty panniers.'
Sounds about right to me and is echoed on other reviews.
+Frank Fraticelli yeah everyone has their favorites, but your Goldwing has all the techno stuff that the BMW does and more.....
Wow, I am doing a 1750+ Km ride starting in just 3 days time... Something like this would be awesome.
Like your screaming revs don't you?
I have a 12 GTL and ride like the old fart that I am. Average MPG 47. Picked up a new Yamaha FJ09 average MPG 45 with about 700 miles on it.
Thanks for driving it hard and showing what it sounds like and it's acceleration capabilities.😎👍
Most of the owners in here ride these like the bike is made out of wax and glass, FOK THAT. 👎💩
You can destroy any machine by driving like a maniac, abusing it.
Then go complaining about issues.
Does the factory warranty even cover racing????
Mydad also ride it! Every Saturday i go trip with his Bike XD
awesome,no flashers on the trafficlights! What a space in America!Greets from Belgium.
Cheers!
thanks...
But does it Wheelie? :-)
So what are you going to do when you become a "gray panther?"
For that kind of money I`m surprised it doesn`t have warp drive.
It does. Ride one.
"Buckwheat doesn't know where he's goin'???" Dude, this better not be racist crap-
Why don't read the comments first, before flapping your impotent beer hole.
Because some of us have lives. I know what I heard. Instead of a pathetic attempt to intimidate me, how about you admitting it wasn't the fricking smartest thing to say on a video.
I was similarly not impressed. Perhaps, you could have handled that better.
Sam Rowland
The gold wing does not have 160 Hk??
Even heavier than the GT/GTL
Good grief dude! You're driving that thing like a cafe' racer. Chill on the throttle...
Really? It's a performance machine, why wouldn't I have a bit fun on it?
aterseraph Cal Moto I own the first model year of this bike (2012).
My god... chill on the criticism... you can drive like my granny if you like... but let SoCal live a little!
Andrew Neumann You said it right, my friend! This motorcycle was built to fly at low altitude!
My next bike...I bought an F6b, which I like, but not a beemer. I also own Harleys
Thinking about selling my F6B and getting the K1600 GT. 160 HP Inline 6 is a Beast!
yes it is! i just traded up from my RT to this about a week ago and its night and day difference. Smooth as silk and as fast as a bullet.....
I wish that high pitched whine was gone. 6 cylinders, give it a v8ish sound
Well thank you, I won't be buying that bike, It seems 6 cyl. Should sound like a Harley, but smoother...I heard a Yamaha 1300 4 cyl. SAME WHINE, OH NO
+J.A. Jones Venture riders, myself included, call that whine you're referring to the "chirp". Sounds like a high-pitched chirping sound. Very annoying at first, but now I hardly notice it over the sound of my Barron Nasty Boy slip-ons. lol They'd wake the dead.
+J.A. Jones It just occurred to me that you might be referring to the FJR.
Liked the review until the Buckwheat comment...
That's explained earlier on in the comments.
Same here!
Man that in town haul ass is sketchy
***** I bought mine with the taller seat, mostly to give myself more leg room.
i-drive? cruise control? heated seat? computer settings? I thought it was a motorcycle..... what happened to just a clutch and throttle!
That's why the Triumph Speed Triple is my favorite bike!
If you live somewhere cold (like Newcastle, UK) and you want to travel cross country, these features come in kinda useful :)
Wow, that's so cool. Subscribe and like.
You're right, close shave!!
Johan Botha why Please and try test ride
Why would you drive that thing like that?
Squid focused review for inexperienced busa riders
What a braying frumpy post that is. I guess you won't be in the market for a BMW anytime soon.
Roadghost88 You obviously have no idea about bikes so shut the fuck up.
... how about ..."roadbore"
+BMWGT1600Rider How long have you owned it for?
+BMWGT1600Rider Still a new bike. What's your fuel mileage? I would guess around 35-39mpg? About as good as my car gets with the A/C on.
Don't listen to the naysayers Cal. I like the way you ride. Ride that way myself quite often. What's the point of having a bike like this if you're going to go down the road like a Volkswagen beetle.
+don ebelt I like the way you think!
too rich for my blood, on buy-in and upkeep.
You take a lot of risks while driving.
You should see me on the tennis court;)
Stop breathing into the mic. It sounds like you ran a mile just getting on the bike.
i have a BMW K1200gt and there is no substitute !
indeed the ABS unit crapped out , like they all do and there is no substitute and it is $4000.- to replace .
also ,..... come back in the fall we are busy right now , f-off !!
never again!
theklrdude oo Is that Turrets?
no that is BMW service .
or rather the lack thereof .
my bike although it looks brand new is essentially scrap !
theklrdude oo i might also point out it had only 60,0000 km. on it .it cost more per km. than my mercedes S500 .
theklrdude oo That's shitty; I'm sorry you got the worst that BMW has to offer.
well i'm out about 4-5000 dollars .
not the end of the world but it is ridicules , that BMW does nothing too help people with this problem .
since it is a known issue .
hope you like your bike , as much as i did , initially.
How NOT to ride a grand tourer....
I own one, never had that problem. Also had a 2018 K1600B loaner bike for a couple of weeks, that one didn't either.
😄😃👍👍
Enjoyed the video, until you started calling people name's. Can you eliminat the Buck Wheat joke's.
I apologize for my ignorance. I have been reeducated. Fortunately, I am teachable.
