    With doing maintenance for short term rentals I try and get the owners to let me remove the disposal. I’ve had a guest tell me they shoved all their left over breakfast down there and try to grind it up. It can turn into a headache very quickly. 😂😂 some owners are for having it removed and a few others that won’t let me.
    Great video Ray. Glad to see your channel take off like it has. You deserve it

      I agree disposals are abused by people who aren't responsible for paying to fix them.

    First let the water run for 10 minutes each side (timed), then fill each side when finished checking for leaks. Is a bit extra time, but if you think about having to come back for a callback, you're doing yourself a favor.

    9 out of 10 is exactly what I get, crank-clear-reset. I bring dawn platinum and run hot soapy water to give it a good clean when I am done. I was required to convert hardwired to a power cord, adding a plug under the sink, but that didnt last long, they put the brakes on that for some reason. I have replaced/repaired 100s of disposals and I still got a few good useful tips in this video!! Your channel is awesome.. Thank you

    Great work. I’m interested to learn more about two topics. How do you pick a company name for your business that will help profits? And also, how do you build a benefits package being self employed?

    • @bulletproofhandyman

      My advice is to keep your company name short and simple. The company name only matters if you're trying to use google search as your main source of revenue, and even then it's your reviews that will matter rather than the name. There is a recent video on my channel about picking company names but I would focus more on the business itself rather than the name.
      For benefits package, I pay $1600 per month out of pocket for amazing insurance and I have a Roth IRA with automatic contributions. As far as vacation time I just have to work enough to put the money back to pay for that.

    Great video. Do you ever replace the mount that attaches to the sink when changing the disposal?

    • @bulletproofhandyman

      No the mounts are typically good. Maybe a couple out of 100 need a new mount. They're usually just jammed with something that fell in.

      $150 for 15 minutes of work, not that you can fill a schedule with them. Just nicely profitable under a trip fee model when you get a process and get fast and efficient.

  • @Bapuji42

    It's not $600/hour. If you see a stray $100 bill on the sidewalk and it takes you one second to pick it up, you're not making $360,000 per hour.

    • @bulletproofhandyman

      I feel like I was very clear about that. $600 an hour for the hours that you are on the job, and then I quite specifically specified that most of your time that you put in for that job is spent off the job.

    • @Bapuji42

      @@bulletproofhandyman You could also just count the split second when you finish the job as when you made the money, and it would be infinity dollars per hour. Or any other arbitrary interval.
      Or you could just average out what you made in a day across the workday and come up with a number that means something.

  • @JohnLee-wx4dp

    $600 per hour is misleading... but much better work on the video.... you need to get moving blanket or a towel for that counter top... you should always try not to put anything on there counters
