    "At its heart, the idea of being authentic means figuring out who you are, accepting yourself, and being true to yourself"
    -Arin Murphy-Hiscock
    For me, I love the simple things and moments when I can work with nature. That's where I find authenticity in my life and where I go to spend my time when I free from other responsibilities

      Being true to yourself is to honor creation. To release your inner Amazon... and I mean that both in the River sense, the online store of unlimited possibilities, and the strong inner warrior woman.
      I have a saying that “the greatest warrior has no enemies” because I know that the only true enemy that you can have is yourself. Even among those who oppose you or seek to control you.
      I love this video, and found it so beautiful and relaxing. I felt transported to a Kathmandu monastery watching a holy sand mandala being constructed. I love every little thing of nature. Nature speaks and it’s flowers are prayers to the void.

    Why am I in tears? I feel like I’m longing to just let everything go. I’ve always wanted to live countryside. Free. Connected to nature. Like wanting to go home. I’ve never really fit in anywhere and while I can and do inspire others with my loving heart and generous nature, I feel so empty. Alone, even in a crowd or surrounded by loved ones. Seen, but not truly heard nor understood. Perhaps, I’m channeling. But the feelings are there, just the same.

    • @MaryShelleysNib

      Mika Smith make a massive change in your life and move. Live the life you’re longing for and fill that empty lonely hole. Only you know what makes you truly happy, it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. If you don’t live a life of your choosing you’ll never be happy or satisfied. Happiness in solitude much better than loneliness in a room full of people 🌻🌺🤗

    I'd like to know how it is possible to live like this in a capitalist society. Most of us are forced to work for corporations that demand we "act" a role rather than be our true selves.

    • @Satinenitas
      @Satinenitas 4 ปีที่แล้ว +78

      The worst is that in this society we are teached to fit in a pattern and play a role so that we forget how to stay connected with our true self and needs. But it's not that people wouldn't be able to perform so that the corporations get the result they need if everyone would be more authentic. Happiness is not the worst for productivity 😄 The problem is that more authentic living people will need less luxurious products for compensation and this would be a problem for the capitalism itself...😅 so very likely the system will not change by intention from the executive floor.
      There's a lot to discuss about this topic but I am sure a little change will come step by step from people changing their view about life. For me to get inspiration and encouragement from others is a blessing to tape steps forward for myself 😌

      Learning to live way below your means helps. The less we need or want, the less we have to slave away at a 9-5. I also think most people making these kinds of videos on TH-cam are either making money off of their content or had a good chunk of money that helped them get started in this lifestyle

    • @1678Mel
      @1678Mel 4 ปีที่แล้ว +62

      Yeah this is hard, esp as a woman of color and empath, capitalism doesn’t make it easy for us to thrive. I try to find ways to self soothe, build up my capacity, so that way I can organize and fight against capitalism. If possible in your workplace find allies to support you. Outside of work, find a cause and purpose you support, research groups that are doing that work so it doesn’t feel so isolating, and you can be yourself. That’s one of the worst things under capitalism. Isolation and alienation. Take care of yourself :)

    • @chivahura
      @chivahura 4 ปีที่แล้ว +28

      It’s all about INNOVATION. Uranus in Taurus is begging us to find new ways to build and create. Innovate how we see and “need” money. When we release the fear of being “tied down” to the system, we make and invite more room for creativity that most certainly can guide us to financial independence. But many of us are too concerned and in fear that we don’t even give it a try, we are impatient and non-trusting. This is why working on the Self is the first step to freedom in all areas of life. Sending love, health and prosperity to all that read ♥️

    I'm at a place in life where it is so hard to be still, and watching this, I just felt like I could b r e athe. I live in the city- it's noisy, it's busy, I always have to do something, I'm always struggling or thinking of money and ways to do better the next day- at the moment I can only dream of this kind of life- which would be my ideal. I love nature. I love art. I love living small and peacefully. I grew up in a small valley, with bush surrounding my home and riding a horse through the neighbours orchard, walking barefoot to school and planting trees with our teacher. I miss that so much.

    Thank you for being courageous and generous enough to share such a personal glimpse into your life and the sort of moments that bring you peace and happiness. I imagine it took work to film and edit it and pick the music and hopefully that was fun too. It's a great reminder to allow time for our intentional hobbies, to connect with nature, use our hands and brains, and let meals be special. I've also found a lot of peace through cooking, projects, nature, beautifying, and slow, detailed projects. Just today I loved making an overnight chia oats with fruit and a sweet potato avocado pepper herbed tofu scramble. And gently waded with my little disabled dog in the river. Mundane stuff like dishes and taking the trash and recycling out can feel so good. There's something very primal and universal and survival-based about things like gathering, cooking, making, caretaking, caregiving, beautifying, being outside. It's like the opposite energy of dying. Recently I worked as a caregiver and it reminded me many people can't do all those things so all the more reason to be grateful when we can.

    Thank you, Annie ! What a beautiful message, slowing down is so important. Your video was a reminder for me to slow down and enjoy this very moment.
    I often question why I tend to rush through tasks to try and finish them the quickest I can. This is a cultural wound that we all have ingrained in us. Thank you for being such an inspiring example of how we don't have to live in the American ( and really the world ) conditioning of creating as much and as fast as possible.

    hey, i just wanted to say that i really appreciate your videos. this one in particular has truly reignited my old love of scratching (using exacto sets to create patterns in scratchboard). it's almost like paper cutting! when i saw you doing your paper cutting, i realized how much i missed doing my etches, and now, for less than $20 on amazon alongside your inspiration in mind, i am rekindling myself and my enthusiasm for the small things in life and taking the time to do the things i love.
    i live in tennessee and have only just recently refound wicca for my path. i had delved into it a bit as a young teen but......well we live in the bible belt, $#!+ happened that forced me to drop it. thank you soooo so much for doing what you do, for being such a wonderful influence for the new on their paths, you are a light in this world. i don't know if this is a thing, but i definitely believe your "totem plant/tree"(?) is the willow tree. if you desire to teach and guide, girl, your spirit was meant for it and i along with most everyone else here is here for it. whenever you are feeling lost, please think of this and us, and i hope we help guide you back in turn, just as you do for us.

    These videos are beautiful and so much asmr in them too💚❤️💚 I also love nature, water and animals:) I particularly find myself being most authentic in nature, water and around animals or kids, not sure why:), I feel the energy of the elements and no idea why? Had this since I was a kid..:) I even love herbal teas and the ocean :) I also help people in my work as a disability support worker and volunteer online counsellor, people forever come to me for help unintentionally out of no where and I’m not sure why lol:)

    slow processes and tedious work... doing things the old fashioned way or just doing things with your hands... this resonates with me. People closest to me half jokingly say that I strive to live in the 19th Century. lol!! This video really spoke to me. Thank you!! Well done!! :-)

    Beautiful, captivating, soothing, intriguing, satisfying.
    I will add this to my mental happy place. Gently walking through the trees, noticing every detail with all my senses.
    I held my breath watching you finish off the lemon curd pies. The dandelion touch on top made me sigh with relief.
    Don't get me started on the flower mandala.
    Thank you for sharing your creations.
