    Thank you very much for this introduction to PowerBI. I did not know this tool at all and I find it very interesting. Thank you again for your excellent work.

    I wish there was a way to read rvt files without having to open revit. are there no CLI tools? something in their SDK?

    Hi, I need help with a synoptic panel. I would like to change individual maps via a slicer. Ie. I have a list of 20 buildings, each building has several floors and I want my map to change as I choose buildings in the slicer. Thank you for your help

    I apologize in advance if this is a dumb question, but if you publish the dashboard would the end user be able to zoom and rotate the 3D image of the house? Say for example if they selected glass and needed to rotate the house to see the windows in the front that were highlighted by the material selection.

    • @brundog9
      @brundog9 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Disregard. After re-watching, I see the house is an image saved and not the actual 3D model itself. So I am guessing you would need multiple images of the house if you wanted to encompass all sides of it?

    Hi, i am just wondering how to show the data in panel at 07.41, i am using panel in power bi and i can connect between any table in power bi and layer in panel. But i cannot show the data next the panel image like percentage. Could you please advice for me little bit?

    • @TheRevitKid
      @TheRevitKid  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      As long as you're pulling from the same grid data and the layers in the panel are named exactly like the data it should work. Most likely, you are not pulling from the same grid or the panel layer names don't match up.

    Awesome! How do you conditionally format the colors on selected/non selected floors in Power BI?

    • @TheRevitKid
      @TheRevitKid  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's all built into the Synaptic Panel tool... You can built rules, conditions, etc... as long as you setup that SVG correctly to start.

      @@TheRevitKid I meant the part where you actually use and format the SVG image inside PBI to create the complete visual. For instance when you click on a floor level the level gets highlighted, but I can't seem to replicate the behaviour when I use the visual. If I click on a part of an image the entire image is greyed. :)

    Hello there, nice video. I am doing the exact process you've described in this video. However the svg doesn't load in the imported OKViz visual, designed used Adobe Illustrator. Can you help please?
    P.S: I am doing this in 9.8.2021

    • @TheRevitKid

      The image will not show until you put data to it (add a field from your BI grid to the visual)

      @@TheRevitKid Thank you for putting you time to this comment of mine. Actually, the issue wasn’t about addressing the categorical and quantitative measures within the slots. It was more about svg being blurred if I use Adobe. If I use any other tool like Inkscape, this gives black patches to the sections which were highlighted using this tool.
      This is bit difficult to explain as you can’t put images as comment to describe these design issues. However this was my small attempt in getting this across you as these issues are faced by many. Thank you for your time 🙏🏻

    Hi, i am really interested in this, if you don't mind and have a time, could you please explain specifically how to make that dashboard at 07:21

    • @TheRevitKid
      @TheRevitKid  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That would require an entire episode! The dashboard itself is in Power BI and uses synoptic panel over the image on the right. All of the rest of it is data being pulled from various models. We use assemble systems to host our models and have our field staff input data... then pull that data from the Assemble systems server.

      @@TheRevitKid okay. i got it. However, if i use just image( not from revit), is it possible to use that image in powerbi? i mean after using that image by using in photoshop, i want to combine edited image and my data in powerbi. these are not any connection between edited image and my data. For example, a Structural Drawing(image file) is not from revit. then after making layer setting in photoshop (changing svg file), then can i combine my data and and that image? what is the connection ? cuz i have been trying....but it doesn't work actually.... plz let me know. Thanks. Kind regards.

      @@정상원-b5j Yes, the image can be from anywhere... As long as it has layers who's names align with at least one column of data ... The images and data don't even have to be from Revit, they could be a photo of a building and an Excel sheet, as long as you have layers with names that align with the data.
