Honestly, I'm shocked Gordon said Link's was good. I mean he probably has to cook at some point because he's a dad, but I didn't think he would get a compliment from Gordon. 😅
@Deja117 I feel like Gordon was complimenting him in the way you'd compliment your Kindergartener who just made you "breakfast in bed" and served you a half raw egg with white bread and eggshells on top 🤣🤣🤣 like it's the thought that counts LMAO
Link misunderstanding what Gordon meant by “lots of butter” immediately followed by him realizing that Gordon turned off his stove so he wouldn’t burn his bacon is peak comedy
This. This is why I love and respect Gordon so much. Not the ‘evil screaming’ Gordon that wasn’t really who he is. The head chef. A few things really stood out to me: - He kept a very close eye on Rhett & Link’s food. - Noticed him checking Rhett’s chicken to make sure it was cooking properly - Monitored Link’s bacon and made sure it was cooking to the crispy Link was aiming for - He let Josh *shine* and, while not ignoring him, knew Josh was a professional in the kitchen and could be left to prepare what he had chosen. - was so lovely and encouraging I love this side of Gordon and am so glad he is allowed to let it shine more ❤
Good observations. The whole "evil screaming" Gordon was definitely TV producers exaggerating his tough standards. He's mentioned that he's really tough on professional chefs on shows like"Hell's Kitchen" and "Restaurant Rescue" because they are supposed to know what they are doing. But he's a lot nicer to home cooks.
Gordon has always been so sweet, he just has expectations of people as he should. If you’re saying you’re a chef who can compete, or a restaurant owner who toots their own horn you better be able to live up to it. He has always shown his sweet side to kids or people who are not being egotistical idiots
He will always maintain his standards in his own kitchen, especially with people competing to cook for him. He will yell and call people names on those shows. But when it's not his restaurants on the line, he's a really nice guy.
I love how Rhett was just hangin out in the kitchen, making something nice, while Josh is in full competition mode and Link is making everyone nervous with a blowtorch.
@@heatherm4483Beat me to it. Just started watching and only saw the comment you’re responding to and said “that sounds pretty on brand for everyone” to myself just before seeing your comment. 😂
I’ve watched cooking shows my whole life- and the PACE of this show is so refreshing. No added Food Network fluff to extend to fill an hour, no cliff hangers heading into commercial- this is proof that 12 minutes is all you need to tell your narrative, make great food, hold a fun contest, and create an entertaining show
It could definitely be closer to 20 mins with more emphasis on the food (prep, cooking, ingredients etc). It's actually not that much of the cooking for a cooking show, more about the comedy which is fine
I think 15 minutes is a great minimum for sure for most things just so you really understand the video but I really enjoy all the perspectives here. I definitely agree that more and more TH-cam becomes the place people go to for entertainment. I remember having to explain what it was to people at one point 🤪
For real though, for Josh to be the first "idiot sandwich" even if it's a jokey thing, is a huge accomplishment for him as a chef. From joining mythical and making good and gross food for rhett and link, posting videos joking about Gordon's food, to having him as a guest on his show, to actually being on GORDON's gameshow...congrats dude. Good stuff
Rhett sure said it best. "If I beat him, it looks bad for my brand..." He's a CHEF and it shows! If you just watch mythical kitchen his cooking speaks for itself. Onna semi-related note, I would be concerned about the burger tar tar but would definitely try it given its 100% positive reception
Seriously! If josh wasn’t such an amazing chef & more high end like Gordon I’d used to, Rhett would have definitely won. I thought for a second he was going to win!
I fariness, they do eat alot of curries and even popularized some curries that Indians later adopted. I heard recently that their food is so bad these days because of WWII rationings
Very unimpressive for a Gordon Ramsay cooking competition but would 100% eat the entire thing and crave a second one 😂 sometimes a good simple sandwich is all you need
Rhett not being scared to bread and fry, seasoned his flour, made it spicy, made a creative slaw with complementing flavors, well done dude! At least one of the two guys that kind of eat food for a living is good at making it lol
He devoted his life to making excellent food. He got lucky to be hired on Mythical Kitchen and have Rhett and Link help him secure stuff like an interview with Gordon. Just like everything in life, being successful in any field takes ruthless dedication AND heaps of luck. You need both.
If you haven't yet, check out Josh's interview with Gordon on his show "Last Meals." Josh brings out a side of Gordon you don't normally see on his TV shows
He felt relief for like 30 whole seconds until Chef Ramsay told Link that his sandwich was good too. Lmao I'd be like "Oh, so he's just saying they're good..." I think that's why Rhett had that tension too because he tasted it and knew something was off. Chef Ramsay is just too good of a guy to critique because they're only internet personalities, not chefs.
Like, watching it back it's like Rhett was just staring at him knowing his sandwich wasn't what he wanted it to be, and waiting for the critique. We know Rhett can take it. I think that exhale was him anticipating the "but" and then Gordon just hits him with the "It's goooood," and Rhett was already making a face of acceptance so him saying "Oh thanks man," just felt so unnatural.
Except Gordon Ramsay isn't from England, and w actually use spice in a lot of our traditional dishes. We actually consume more spice per capita than the US.
@@anamewillcomelater No, you don’t. Spice per capita in the USA is around 1.23kg, UK is around 1.22kg. Your largest ethnic minority in the UK are also from the highest spice consumers by capita in the world - but you typically wouldn’t lump Indian cuisine with British cuisine.
Rhett and Josh were cooking these well prepared, well thought out dishes, and Link did what most of us would probably actually do if thrown into this situation: which was to just wing it. Loved this ❤
man, i LOVE josh. and link will always be the most charming person i’ve ever seen, he knows how to work a crowd and just shines in situations like these, regardless of being absolutely PISSED on lmao
He's been talking about his hot chicken sandwich for YEARS so I'm happy for him that Gordon liked it that much!!!!! He's gonna boast about it forever now!
Even Gordon knows to be nervous around Link with a knife and a blowtorch 😂. This was awesome!! Those sandwiches looked delicious!! Congrats Josh, Rhett, and Link!!
I want a whole cooking show where it's just Gordon watching Link make anything, but he can't fix it for him. Rhett is there as Ramsay's emotional support, because lord knows he'll need it.
This was such a joy to watch! This is the version of Gordon Ramsay I enjoy seeing the most. He's just having fun eating good food. His contestants are having fun and sassing each other. It's fun seeing the GMM crew competing against each other. I would love to see more TH-camrs competing against each other like this, in a silly, light-hearted, informal way with Gordon as the judge. I want more Idiot Sandwich content!
Rhett and Link are super brave 😂 they mustered courage to do real tattoo on some people, horse a shoe all by learning instantly, they can do anything 😂
I did give Rhett and Link this, they probably would have beat Josh for creativity if that was apart of it. Josh may have the cooking skills, but he tries to follow making it actually food. Although for years he was making weird concoctions of food for the will it series, so never mind it was always in the bag.
A pro move would have been to use one of Josh's MK videos. In fact, I'm pretty sure Rhett did that with his Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich. Josh did a video on that.
Run to Jesus!!! If you have defected from God then read these Scriptures: (Lost Sheep, Luke 15:1-7 - Lost Coin, 15:8-10 - Lost Son, 15:11-32 - Rich Man and Lazarus, 16:19-31) Jesus is calling you back home, read His word, believe and repent. Saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone!. The world is racing toward "AMAGEDDON" !!! And people need to get right with the Lord! If you have not read the books of (Daniel chapters 7-12), (Ezekiel chapters 37-39) (Matthew chapters 24:1-51 + 25:1-30), (1 Thessalonians chapters 1-5), (2 Thessalonians chapters1-3) and (Revelation chapters 6-19), now would be a good time. They will explain a lot about what is going on right now! These books will cover the "Wars" about to come, the catching up / the blessed hope, World judgement, hence the Tribulation and the Great Tribulation! These books will also be the most ominous and scary for the unbelievers and the most exciting and uplifting for those who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior!... It is my hope and prayer that people would repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ before all these things take place, because it is going to be very, very scary if you do not and you decide to wait and see what happens! + All glory, honour, power, and praise be to the Lord our God, Jesus Christ. Amen!
This just brought out everyone’s true character…including Gordon’s who always made me anxious until he went on last meals with Josh. So fun to see everyone in this fun light and Gordon treated everyone as they needed to be treated. Gordon read the room beautifully ❤️
He played that manipulation game lol. He asked for a lot by asking for an ingredient, so when he asked for a little on being the winner he would say yes lol
On his show he is constantly asking people off camera to toss and throw things at him. Spoons, ingredients, dried fish. He will just incorporate things in an instant.
Links Sandwich is something i would do. Rhetts Sandwich looks so amazing. and Josh just killed it. like we knew he would. But Man Rhett Chicken sandwich was crazy impressive. He's got so many hidden talents
Gordon, you're a Hero with the greatest Chef Story Arc of ALL TIME. Love what you're doing and how you treat people, seeing those genuine emotions and how happy people are just to be there with you really translate over the screen very well. This video made my day, I've been a huge fan of yours since I watched your master chef junior shows as a kid. I've never aspired to be a chef, but I feel like I get to vicariously live through these people and it just warms my heart! Thanks for this!
The most famous chef in the world doing a segment with the mature sophisticated pro chef, the always gloating viking who was throwing pickles into the crowd and then the dangerous man child you should keep far away from anything even remotely dangerous 😂😂😂 greatness quad squad ever!!
Link needs a handler of some kind, like "brother, you can't walk up to people with a blowtorch facing them.." especially when you don't know how to work said blowtorch
Gordon's a good sport for letting Josh in the competition after being often criticized by him. Shows that he is willing to acknowledge his mistakes. His grilled cheese was really the ultimate idiot sandwich. 😂
@@SmoakinThrillsit's really less about whatever Josh did or the reason behind it (some people say it's for clout, others because he's a hater, and some say it's just genuine criticism). It's more on Gordon's reaction: instead of being a pompous prick about it he instead took it like a champ, but of course, those who know him knows that he's actually one of the most grounded and down-to-earth guys in the industry, and this is just a testament to that.
I honestly thought he wouldn't like Links sandwich, I was surprised when he said it was good and they were all good, that's awesome! Congrats guys and congrats Josh on becoming an official idiot sandwich.
I’m so glad to finally see Josh and Gordon working together. They’re like the Snoop and Martha of the food world, on one hand they make no sense together but on the other they make perfect sense.
Late, but gonna say it... Rhett did a *fantastic* job on his sammich. I thought maybe he'd pull it out from under Josh. Link was link, but I like the simple-ish sammich too. Well done to all 'em!
Watched this after i watched last meals on mythical kitchen with Gordon as the guest. Honestly i love gordons energy on both its so refreshing. Happy to see him and josh having fun.
I think Josh has mentioned before that he only talks shit to get a response from Gordon. If so, I guess it works lol. Real talk though, it is super satisfying and validating to see Gordon praise Josh.
Imagine having Gordon Ramsey call you his 'nemesis'. I think that's the highest honour a chef can have in this day and age! Josh, you've peaked. jk jk jk
Josh peaked years ago just before a terrible injury knocked him out of competitive sports. Life’s been downhill since then and cooking is just his coping mechanism while he tries futilely to relive his glory days as a competitive athlete through CrossFit. Geez. It’s like you don’t even know him.
For anyone who has watched GMM but not Mythical Kitchen, definitely give it a shot. Josh and the rest of the team are hilarious and the manic energy is super entertaining
BEST LINE: 4:24 "Of course it's gonna be a better than a Gordon Ramsay sandwich. I mean come on, the guy's from the UK. They traveled the world for spices, and then chose none of them!" (We love you Josh! As much as Link and Rhett and Gordon. Great win, but really the world wins today!) Can't wait til watching tv also allows us to taste y'all cookin too!
@@mekan0001oh please, he is a professional chef with a super high paying job and a borderline celebrity. He is way above the level of hell's kitchen contestants
There's really no doubt. Behind the weird experiments and occasional bravado, Josh is an absolutely skilled cook and has well earned his title as a Chef for the Mythical Kitchen.
I saw you on last meals show with Josh and you now have a brand new diehard fan. I had not seen a lot of your work even though I was familiar with the fact that you’re probably the best chef on the planet. I respect you SO MUCH for your candor and drive. Wow.
Loved this!!! Josh is a smokin chef. Rhett is a great cook, very methodical and Link has me laughing on the regular! Gordon was having fun and I think he was truly blown away by Josh’s talent🥪
Pretty sure that Nashville Hot sandwich has been done a couple times in MK videos. That's honestly a genius move. The Blue Chese was probably Rhett's idea.
Wow i didnt even realize how hard i was grinning the whole time, my face hurt at the end. Watching Rhett and Josh do so well was a pleasure and Chef Ramsey was so encouraging!
And I'm makiing my own Idiot Sandwich with HexClad right here: th-cam.com/video/RCqns11E_9M/w-d-xo.htmlsi=CG3Q0KFmsSyADU49

I've been contemplating the HexClad. I currently own the Caraway set of pots/pans, and am not very impressed after a year.

This was great. I want that cheesesteak so badly right now.
Aww Josh’s fanboy peak
Gordon was one of the best Last Meal episodes ever!
You're not even close to his level 😅
Watching Josh (pro chef), Rhett (competent home chef), and Link (can't figure out how to work a microwave) compete is absolutely hysterical
I was trying to figure out how to say this and this is perfect 😂😂
Honestly, I'm shocked Gordon said Link's was good. I mean he probably has to cook at some point because he's a dad, but I didn't think he would get a compliment from Gordon. 😅
@@Deja117it felt like Gordon was trying too hard to complement him. I don’t think it was as good as he was saying.
Á@@michaelablair4689
@Deja117 I feel like Gordon was complimenting him in the way you'd compliment your Kindergartener who just made you "breakfast in bed" and served you a half raw egg with white bread and eggshells on top 🤣🤣🤣 like it's the thought that counts LMAO
Link misunderstanding what Gordon meant by “lots of butter” immediately followed by him realizing that Gordon turned off his stove so he wouldn’t burn his bacon is peak comedy
At no point did gordon actually turn off the burner, which honestly makes Link look even more like a bone head.
@@CrypticCobra Link is a lovable bone head
he said "Excellent brioche it's very soft lots of butter in that"

@@Zach476 lmaooo dude is actually not even conscious unless rhett is right next to him.
This. This is why I love and respect Gordon so much. Not the ‘evil screaming’ Gordon that wasn’t really who he is. The head chef. A few things really stood out to me:
- He kept a very close eye on Rhett & Link’s food.
- Noticed him checking Rhett’s
chicken to make sure it was cooking properly
- Monitored Link’s bacon and made sure it was cooking to the crispy Link was aiming for
- He let Josh *shine* and, while not ignoring him, knew Josh was a professional in the kitchen and could be left to prepare what he had chosen.
- was so lovely and encouraging
I love this side of Gordon and am so glad he is allowed to let it shine more ❤
Good observations.
Couldnt agree more c:
Gordon has always been so sweet, he just has expectations of people as he should. If you’re saying you’re a chef who can compete, or a restaurant owner who toots their own horn you better be able to live up to it. He has always shown his sweet side to kids or people who are not being egotistical idiots
Yeeees. ❤
They’re all just playing to their strengths 😂 anytime link gets a hold of anything sharp or fiery the whole crew sweats

You can tell Rhett melted inside when Gordon legit gave his sandwich a good grade. Gotta admit, that sandwich did look goooood.
Rhett isn't a stranger to the kitchen. He likes to cook a lot at home. I'd totally eat his food.
Blue cheese slaw on a fried chicken sandwich genuinely sounds so freaking good.

Rhett’s sandwich sounded like the tastiest!

Never underestimate the power of the Parking Lot Pickle.
I’ve watched cooking shows my whole life- and the PACE of this show is so refreshing. No added Food Network fluff to extend to fill an hour, no cliff hangers heading into commercial- this is proof that 12 minutes is all you need to tell your narrative, make great food, hold a fun contest, and create an entertaining show
That’s why things are moving to platforms like this, and not as many people have cable these days
"If I beat him, it looks bad for my brand..."
He's a CHEF and it shows! If you just watch mythical kitchen his cooking speaks for itself.
Onna semi-related note, I would be concerned about the burger tar tar but would definitely try it given its 100% positive reception
I knew Josh was gonna bring it, but Rhett's sandwich looked INSANE. That man can actually cook
Seriously! If josh wasn’t such an amazing chef & more high end like Gordon I’d used to, Rhett would have definitely won. I thought for a second he was going to win!

That epiphany moment for Link when talking about Josh was hilarious. "Oh...I'm not making anything either 😮"

Seeing Gordan being all friendly with Josh was incredible. Josh has been waiting for this for so long, I'm sure it's everything he wanted and more.
Dude is living the dream. Hearing him explain his sandwich to Gordon...he EXUDES passion for food. So awesome to see
Josh's interview with Gordon on "Last Meals" was fantastic!
It honestly makes me happy to see them collaborating
He devoted his life to making excellent food. He got lucky to be hired on Mythical Kitchen and have Rhett and Link help him secure stuff like an interview with Gordon.
Just like everything in life, being successful in any field takes ruthless dedication AND heaps of luck. You need both.
If you haven't yet, check out Josh's interview with Gordon on his show "Last Meals." Josh brings out a side of Gordon you don't normally see on his TV shows
9:52 Rhett exhaling sharply out of nervousness and then forcing out “oh thanks man” was hilarious. It’s rare to see him that nervous!
the adrenaline was palpable
and from a man who can't accept when he is wrong, nonetheless

I did give Rhett and Link this, they probably would have beat Josh for creativity if that was apart of it. Josh may have the cooking skills, but he tries to follow making it actually food. Although for years he was making weird concoctions of food for the will it series, so never mind it was always in the bag.
Is Josh a professional chef?....
I don't know, Rhett's sandwich actually looked pretty damned good too.

All glory, honour, power, and praise be to the Lord our God, Jesus Christ. Amen!

Pretty sure that Nashville Hot sandwich has been done a couple times in MK videos. That's honestly a genius move. The Blue Chese was probably Rhett's idea.
4 of my favorite guys all in one place. Love it. Can't believe y'all are finally hanging out with Gordon!
Gordon is just chatting up Rhett while link is trying to catch himself and the crowd on fire. I love this. 😂
OMG! PLEASE do more with Mythical Kitchen! Two of my favorites collaborating! 🙂
The interview with Gordon in Last Meals is honestly one of the best interviews I've seen in a long time
@@jbearclowater Agreed! I love Last Meals. Sheesh, I love anything Mythical LOL
Wow i didnt even realize how hard i was grinning the whole time, my face hurt at the end. Watching Rhett and Josh do so well was a pleasure and Chef Ramsey was so encouraging!
Really love this entire Gordon x Mythical journey lately!
So proud of Gordon. Finally he got to meet a real chef, with an actual heart of gold!
Absolutely loved seeing this side of Rhett and Link! Then there's Josh, still on brand with his word vomit and food facts 😂
