    Nissan wanted to charge me $900 to replace passenger motor mount, I came to this video to see if I can do it myself. I may break a few nails but it's worth a shot! Thanks!

    Heads-up: At the 14:17 mark it is IMPOSSIBLE to push the black tubing/pipe/line (power steering fluid return) forward unless you remove the bolt from the plate it is attached to - which secures it to the strut tower. You don't have to remove the lower screw/bolt - just the one in the top corner. Trace the black pipe/line forward toward the windshield and you will see what I am talking about. Motor Mount torque specs can be found on bigdog50001 automotive video - the specs are the same for pre2013. Thanks for the video! Enjoy.

    The larger mount is actually two pieces pressed together. There are two dowels that are pressed in to form these into one piece. I very carefully drilled these out for the new part and the part in the car after i removed all of the bolts so i could get drill bit on these. So much easier to remove and replace in two pieces. After all torqued in place, runs like new without any vibration. Choose to do that at your own risk

      @@packmantrey2938 I did, it was easy, no hang ups, it was 9 months ago so I forgot the details, I vaguely remember making a point of keeping track of different bolt lengths. I think I had to carefully bend some AC pipe.The mount on the bottom was a different animal, I had bought a kit that came with two mounts, and was going to replace both, but gave up on the bottom mount when I figured out I would need about a 4 foot extension, half inch drive, to access the bolt, from the wheelwell, to basically the center of the car. Maybe there's a easy way to get at it, with enough leverage , but I couldn't find it.

    Very good ... Thank you. I need to replace the valve cover on my 2015 2.5L Altima which I have no problem doing. Just needed to see the procedure for the motor mount bracket on top of the engine. If you're interested the Torque for the 18mm is 76 FTLB and the 16mm I believe are 36 FTLB. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks again.

      You can trace the power steering hose back to the strut tower and unscrew only the top screw which will loosen the Power steering hose. Also, you might need to remove the Engine Torque mount to create more room. The 2nd silver hose has a screw underneath which can be loosen. Let me know if this works out for you.

    I was gonna say you have to partially remove the strut tower bar to get that top bolt out. And you also have to support the engine with a jack because the bracket next to that mount needs to be removed as well. I have done this motor mount replaced and its not as easy as it looks

      Nissan sometimes uses the same engine in different models. Might also be needed for a different part to be installed there. Could even be used as a part of the manufacturing process. So, you know, reasons.

    • @whypaydiy
      @whypaydiy  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not rattling but your engine will vibrate in excess. What you can do to see if its me mounts have some one sit in ur car and u look at the engine, then ask the them to shit to drive and reverse. If you mount is gone you will see the shift in the engine ba k and forth.
