Nissan wanted to charge me $900 to replace passenger motor mount, I came to this video to see if I can do it myself. I may break a few nails but it's worth a shot! Thanks!
Heads-up: At the 14:17 mark it is IMPOSSIBLE to push the black tubing/pipe/line (power steering fluid return) forward unless you remove the bolt from the plate it is attached to - which secures it to the strut tower. You don't have to remove the lower screw/bolt - just the one in the top corner. Trace the black pipe/line forward toward the windshield and you will see what I am talking about. Motor Mount torque specs can be found on bigdog50001 automotive video - the specs are the same for pre2013. Thanks for the video! Enjoy.
My passenger side I can feel vibration and I’m pretty sure it’s the same mounts, gonna try it out appreciate this video a ton man gonna follow ur exact steps
Thank you for the video I just waiting for the exactly part I ordered to do the same thing follow up you procedures thank you bro .2018 Nissan Altima Sl . Here 😊
well done amigo I just did it the same but on the big mount the nut just spin with the screw :( I just left it rest but it won't come out thanks for the good detail video bro. from San Diego CA
The larger mount is actually two pieces pressed together. There are two dowels that are pressed in to form these into one piece. I very carefully drilled these out for the new part and the part in the car after i removed all of the bolts so i could get drill bit on these. So much easier to remove and replace in two pieces. After all torqued in place, runs like new without any vibration. Choose to do that at your own risk
Nice video, watching you go through the process gives me the confidence to go ahead with my own, I always watch the vids in case there's some kind of snag, special tool needed, et cetera. Thanks!
@@packmantrey2938 I did, it was easy, no hang ups, it was 9 months ago so I forgot the details, I vaguely remember making a point of keeping track of different bolt lengths. I think I had to carefully bend some AC pipe. The mount on the bottom was a different animal, I had bought a kit that came with two mounts, and was going to replace both, but gave up on the bottom mount when I figured out I would need about a 4 foot extension, half inch drive, to access the bolt, from the wheelwell, to basically the center of the car. Maybe there's a easy way to get at it, with enough leverage , but I couldn't find it.
Very good ... Thank you. I need to replace the valve cover on my 2015 2.5L Altima which I have no problem doing. Just needed to see the procedure for the motor mount bracket on top of the engine. If you're interested the Torque for the 18mm is 76 FTLB and the 16mm I believe are 36 FTLB. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks again.
man i was today hours trying to pull the upper mount and i was afraid to brake the power steering hose while forcing it ,and i see you here pushing it back so easy . ,end of story i bolted again the old mount ,i will try again other day .
You can trace the power steering hose back to the strut tower and unscrew only the top screw which will loosen the Power steering hose. Also, you might need to remove the Engine Torque mount to create more room. The 2nd silver hose has a screw underneath which can be loosen. Let me know if this works out for you.
I was gonna say you have to partially remove the strut tower bar to get that top bolt out. And you also have to support the engine with a jack because the bracket next to that mount needs to be removed as well. I have done this motor mount replaced and its not as easy as it looks
Nissan sometimes uses the same engine in different models. Might also be needed for a different part to be installed there. Could even be used as a part of the manufacturing process. So, you know, reasons.
@@whypaydiy I did the two passenger side motor mounts on my wife's car today in about two and a half hours. I loosened the power steering pump and the bracket holding the AC lines. I wasn't comfortable being that forceful moving them out of the way to get the lower mount out. Not only did I save almost $900 my wife thinks I'm a hero! 🤣😎

@@lebronad2439 I also had vibration on my steering and I went to a workshop were thy had ask me to change my engine mount , after changing the mount thr were no sign of vibration anymore .
Well it all depends on who you are most comfortable with. I would take it to a alignment stand first as they can tell you if any things is bad, like mounts or front-end parts
Dude! To get that top plate off I had to remove that plastic piece in front of the windshield and in order to remove that you have to remove the windshield wipers... I had to remove windshield wipers to get to the motor mount 🤣
I know how to do this....i just watch videos to make it much faster 😂 (get bolt sizes, little tips i may not know, check if i have the right part on my autozone cart)........and I've been doing this over 9ish years now
Just followed along with your video and my car doesn't shake or make a whining noise anymore!!
Thanks brother, I much appreciate you!

Where do you put the fluid in the motor mount and how much
@tracyelam6082 no fluid goes in there. I'm not sure what you are referring to

@@whypaydiy do you know if the vibration at 1800rpm in 2013 altima is because of this torque mount?
Also how many miles were on it when replaced?
@@arsalan3889 it can be you can look at it to see if it is burst or damage. About 110k
Thanks, good job!
Can that one engine mount cause the whole engine to shake
Yes, u can see which mount is bad too by having someone Rev the car while u look at the engine. Also, have them shift between drive and reverse.
Where do i place the wood on the bottom so i dont damage the pan?
Just make sure is a block of board that fully covers the area. You are not jacking it up much so it won't damage anything.
