Every time at the end of Cantina Band, I'd end with an F an octave up, one beat after everyone else, just for kicks. I was on a marimba, so I took what fun I could get. Loved playing it though.
playing the percussion 2 part of this for concert band this year. they played cantina band and olympic spirit sections WAAAAY slower in this recording than my band has been....
We're going to play this at our next concert at my school, and we've made the creative decision to end dramatically with the Jaws Theme. We're doing some pretty cool things with lighting to fit the piece, as well.
Plus my high school’s concert band played this in our Spring Concert. During Cantina Band I didn’t play the written part; instead I played the real thing. If you saw the sheet music for this, you’d understand why; Imperial March and Cantina Band were all over the octaves and clashed. If anyone wants to know more about this entire piece hit me up, because I know this piece inside out.
Ew, some parts were sloppy. Also, in the end of the theme for "E.T.", there is a molto. rit. which means the conductor slows down and conducts each 16th note, which you have to pay attention to for. Also, Cantina band, The Mission, and Olympic spirit are soooo suh-low!! And *OMG* that flute at 5:05... 😝😝😝😝
This was probably my favorite arrangement that we played when I was in high school. Really enjoyed it, it was a lot of fun. I was a trombone player.
ahhh, this brings back so many memories. middle school, great times.
Love the scream at the end of Jaws theme!!! My favorite part next to all the French Horn soles!
