Now this is what I've been talking about for over a decade. Just because it's affordable doesn't mean it has to be shaffordable! These are practice amps done right, and are exactly the kind of amp that I would have built.
I'm tempted to get a 10E just to take to bits; it'd be interesting to see how much tone comes from analog circuitry and how much is done in the digital space.

I remember telling a friend of mine who owned a store back in the seventies there was NOTHING available as a true practice amp. What I meant then was why isn't there a very small amp that would truly sound like my main one (a 50W Marshall Plexi with the 8X10 cab) for home use; similar in sound to the 50w at stage level? It took that long to get. It isn't a Marshal but, I'm very satisfied with the 10e. Not only that, but it sounds is IT. How is it done? I have no idea.

Going to be honest. Great little amps but for a few more scheckles an ID core 20 would be the way to go. Just got mine from you and love it. A great replacement for the Marshall 30 I have under the table. Had that amp since 2003. Still works, wanted a quieter cleaner amp.

  • @sboistan

After a few days of fooling with it, I've decided that the 10e is the best ultra low-volume amp I've ever had (this includes all of the thrs, small marshalls, 5w monoprice and a handful of other practice amps ). The gain channel is good, especially when you experiment with the isf settings and your guitar's volume levels, but the clean channel is really great. I haven't experimented with running high gain pedals in front of it but I've heard it can be fickle with those, but with my b-box preamp (Xotic BB preamp clone) I can get a great overdriven sound. Messing with the ISF knob is critical, I've found you have to be on the left side of the dial when I'm running pedals into it - sometimes all the way to the left with my Les Paul with low output humbuckers .Anybody else have pedals that they like using with their Debut amps?

I have it and use it frequently. This is the best practice amp out there for a pedal platform. They didn't plug anything into the Mp3 input, which is a shame. The playback sounds outstanding, this is a great amp for playing along to your favorite songs with. In fact, I have a Yamaha THR-5 which now serves as a Television speaker because this amp is that much better.

Man, these companies should just add a speaker output on all these little amps. They can sound massive on a good cab compared to the tiny speakers they usually come with. Just a missed opportunity on all of these as i'm sure the sounds are really cool. Heck, the look and even the sound (even though boxy) still are pretty alright as is.

A burning question I have: is that purple FSR Squier a standard thickness body? Reason I'm asking is cuz I don't to buy it and find out it's not compatible with trem upgrades. The last Bullet I looked at had a thin body and wouldnt take a standard trem block which stuck out of the body by nearly a quarter inch (6-8mm) thus prohibiting the use of the trem spring cover.

Whenever a storefront does a video of a small, entry level practice amp, I really wish they would include some footage with only a room microphone so that players can get a idea of how these will actually sound like when you are playing through them at home. Setting up microphones close to amps like this tends to present a somewhat optimistic idea of how they will sound.

@@alangriff1 It is just kinda a bummer because you see these practice amps get really hyped up on TH-cam channels and such but when you actually try one in a store and hear it in a more natural, more practical setting, they tend to sound very small, boxy, and not really all that satisfying.
A good example of this is the Fender Blues Junior. A lot of folks online will say it is the best amp ever and that it sounds amazing but my experience with them has been anything but amazing. They just sound so small and not all that satisfying.

I was actually really digging it until the "How loud can they go?" That bit sounded pretty bad. There was like a high pitched squeal intermittently throughout...maybe the delay feeding back? IDK, but the overall sound was much better at lower volume. I'm always tempted to pick these things up because I like guitar toys, but I know I'd be disappointed, because while none of my amps are multi-thousand dollar pro gear, I have bigger and better stuff than this. If I was looking for beginner guitar amps for my niece or nephew, though, I'd be totally thrilled with these.

I know that boy like the hook in the back of his head! Seriously, he looks so much better than when he had the dreads! It seems he's been woodshedding some slower licks, his phrasing and choices sounded much better than blues box to pinch harmonic formula he used in the past, well done, Rob!

How many of these boxy ass practice amplifiers do we need when Blackstar already has the fly series (which, from listening to this, is superior still), Boss has the Katana's (which - although a bit more expensive is massively superior) Bias just came out with the Spark and there's things like the small Laney amps that sound... well this is personal taste, but having played those, they sound better in my personal opinion and are cheaper.
Just kinda curious who Blackstar is trying to cater to here aside from the look I guess
Not to mention... with the kinda sales out right now, getting a cheap audio interface and getting something like bias FX 2...

Perfect practice amp should be quiet. To understand why ask somebody who can not play guitar to take 15 minutes od random "playing" while you try to watch TV next room.
This are awesome for that :-)

Give parents "Roll your Own" starter packs. Affordable guitar examples of the main guitar species bundled with one of these and appropriate accessories. Or escort them to Eastcoast acoustics... kinder until the kid gets it. They'll be back, with the kid, and do it right: Eastcoast electrics, et al.

@@thomaschilds8781 Agree, I had the THR5 and upgraded to the 30. Now it’s my most used amp as it pretty much does it all. My bigger amps need to breath and I just can’t do that at home. COVID sucks..👍🇦🇺
