Hi! We have been using this unit for quite a while now, and I find everything to be very loud. Any help with this? We get the input signal from an aux send from our mixer, which is set already very low. From there, the master gain on the HA8000 is also set at almost zero, and every channel is relatively low, but still, we find each in ear to be really loud.

So you can have up to 18 headphones connected to this with 2 headphone outs per channel?

you can connect up to 16 headphones...8 different mixes

Basically, this device split one signal 8 ways. Much better is the Behringer model that has only 4 headphone outputs, as you can adjsut each of them much more precisely.

depends on if you use direct inputs of each channel or not...in my case , I just use Main Input and each channel gets the same mix, I adjust only Volume of each channel separately...but if you use Direct inputs of each channel, then you can use up to 8 different mixes...

When I plug my setup like you did, I get very bad distortion/artefacts coming through the headphones which I think are coming from my interface

you don't have to route the signal from headphone output to main 1 or 2 ... if your audio interface has more outputs, you can try to route signal from there... I just had all other outputs engaged with other devices, that's why I have chosen headphone output...
